Story
Meet Bunni! She's shy with new people, but warms up if you offer her some tasty treats. She's food driven and eager to please. Bunni also loves to give you a serene smile once she knows you're a good person (the kind who gives yummy treats). She's smart and knows to sit and wait for food, and to go in her kennel at night. She's also house trained. She enjoys being outside and playing with toys. She loves to play with other dogs, and she sleeps quietly in her kennel throughout the night. She's great with kids and other dogs. Bunni is about 1 year old and weighs 28 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Hank is the co-pilot you’ve been waiting for! He’s the best car rider—just hops in and lays or sits down nicely for the whole ride. Hank is an absolute love. He would make an amazing companion dog to both humans and other dogs. He greets dogs with a welcome wag and is non-reactive to non-friendly dogs. He would do best in a home without cats. He is potty trained, non-destructive and loves to cuddle. He loves toys and loves playing fetch or laying around chewing on a bone. Hank has beautiful disposition with soulful brown eyes. He is medium energy and plays happily and easily settles down indoors. He would make a beautiful addition to any family. Hank is super smart and eager to please, he’s working on learning basic commands and not to jump up in his foster home. He loves cuddling and hanging around with his people inside or out. Hank is a 2 year old, 56 pound black lab mix with an adorable scruffy snout.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Back to Our DogsGraceyGracey$200.00PricePay Adoption FeeAge: 10 yearsWeight: 55 poundsLocation: FosterHello! My name is Gracey and I’m a 10 year old black lab. I weigh in at about 55 pounds, and I’m 18” high to the hip, so a little on the short stack side. But I am so full of love, snuggles and the zest of life. You see after my folks passed away and I was very heartbroken, the rescue took me into their care. I have been receiving much needed TLC from my foster mom and dad. This has helped me adjust and know that I can find the love of my own family again! They tell me that I am doing very good! So, this is what I heard them saying: SHE LOVES HER PEOPLE—great with women, men, kids, She wants to be “your girl” no matter the activity: working in yard, running errands, watching TV—she sits beside you, on you (often thinks she is a small lap dog), or just be close. She’s super gentle and loving. Her eyes are incredibly soulful. They will melt your heart as she snuggles in with that look. “My STAR qualities”Listens and follows basic commands, comes when called, completely house trained and excellent house manners, gently accepts treats handed to her, ok with crating, doesn’t jump up on people, loves to go for slow walks and does well on a leash, rides well in the car and always ready to go. She likes the front seat so she won’t miss a thing, barks only to alert, sleeps all night on her doggie bed quietly, keeps the doggie door swinging as she loves to be outside on the patio sunbathing. “Things I’m working on”My girlish physique, daily walks & healthy diet, so I can remain a healthy senior. I am learning to share love and attention with my foster fur siblings. When I am around other fur babies my alpha traits come out, so I’d prefer a home of my own. I’m not really good at sharing the love and space. My foster family is helping me make good choices with boundaries. I am low to medium energy and it doesn’t take much to make my tail go crazy and my eyes sparkle. Are you ready to for me to join your family for my golden years? Go ahead, reach out and let’s meet!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
PAT WILL BE AT A MEET AND GREET/ADOPTION EVENT AT PETCO IN ROSEVILLE SATURDAY MAY 11 12:30 -2:30 COME AND CUDDLE A PUP AND MAYBE GO HOME WITH A COMPANION Pat and her siblings were born in late January to a mixed breed mommy. Daddy was a ‘traveling man’ who we suspect was a handsome stranger who took no responsibility whatsoever for his actions. The first impression the puppies give is lab cross and they have little webbed toes for swimming and their coats are very lab-like. Everyone in the litter has a lovely white blaze on their chest which is typical of border collies, and the petfinder breed identifier says Patterdale Terrier, so that is what we are going with. DNA testing on dogs from the area often have 20 or more breeds and invariably have some German Shepherd, some herding dog and, surprisingly, many have a wee bit of Chihuahua. The puppy’s family kept the mom and PUP will pay for her to be spayed. They surrendered the puppies because they were living outside and an eagle was lurking about making the puppy’s situation precarious at best. Pat is black, white and brindle. She is crated at night and 5 hours or so during the work day. She is used to going outside to potty but she is not yet fully housebroken. She is playful and has an average energy level. She is by far the smallest of the litter and we expect her to be a mid-sized dog when she is fully grown, but her adopter should be prepared to love her if she is a bit larger or smaller than predicted. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Pat is fully vaccinated including rabies and has been dewormed. The $375 adoption fee (check or cash) includes the cost of pup’s required spay/neuter at 6 months of age provided it is done by the PUP vet. We do place puppies outside the metro area but a plan for the required spay/neuter must be in place. We do not ship. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested. Story
I adopted Kevin from a shelter as a puppy, and he has been with me for 7 years. He is an active dog, who loves walks and running around outside playing fetch. I am looking to re-home him due to being a recently single parent, and I don't have the time or resources to be able to afford to keep him. I am trying to find a home with him with older kids, as he is a little dog at heart.

Story
Arrow is now at his ideal weight, looking handsome and athletic with a shiny, healthy coat. He’s gained a lot of confidence in his place in the pack and enjoys wrestling with his Weim foster brother. Arrow is a German Shorthaired Pointer and he’s about 2 years old and 60 pounds. Arrow is a large, athletic dog. His long legs give him natural running ability, and with continued practice he will make an amazing running buddy. He regularly does 8-12 milers with us, and does need a few reminders to stay focused but it’s steadily improving. He also loves walks - we do two kinds of walks. One we call “sniff walks” on a long lead where Arrow can follow his nose. The other is just about exercise business and he walks really effectively on a half hitch to curtail the pulling. Arrow needs these outlets - both mental and physical - to be his best self. Arrow is doing well on sit and getting better at come. We are also working on “place”, which we think is important to peace at the dinner table, as Arrows head is effectively table level. He’s completely house trained and crate trained. He’s a handsome athlete and will be successful with a family who can commit to giving him the physical and mental outlets GSPs need to be good dogs. After seeing him settle in, I’d be comfortable with him going to families with other dogs (male and female) with patient adjustment time and the understanding that this boy is a giant puppy, who loves big and plays big.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
My name is Shadow. I am guessed to be 9-12 months of age and I am currently about 40 pounds. I am a very happy and energetic girl that LOVES nature walks. I love the outdoors and love when my foster dad takes me on nature walks using a 30 foot leash so I can explore freely. I cannot be trusted off leash unless I’m in a fenced yard. I am crate trained and working on house training. My ideal home will be with a person or family that is very active and has a physical fenced in yard. My foster family will not allow me to go to a home with invisible fence. A home with another high energy dog would be fantastic so I can have a playmate. I have not been around cats yet. I am very loving and affectionate and have lots of energy. If you are looking for a hiking partner to go on an adventure with, I am your girl! Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 100-mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting Shadow, please go to our website and fill out a dog application. Shadow will be spayed and microchipped as part of our adoption fee. https://www.therescuepack.org/dog-adoption-application

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    I’m on the hunt for a very special loving home who is willing to work diligently with my confidence.  I’m extremely shy and am much braver on the outside than I am on the inside.  I love my kennel as I use it as my safe space.  When I feel nervous or unsure, I retreat there and hide. I’m very, very sweet and still learning all about receiving love and affection and I do like it!  I do enjoy hanging out with people but I also have a mischievous side when I think you’re not looking.  Away from home is hard for me.  I am so nervous and freeze with anxiety.  I will bolt if I get the chance.  So I will need a fenced yard as even leashes are new.  I am 99% potty training when on a schedule and am clearly crate trained, since that’s where I feel the most safe.  But I do know some commands like “sit, outside, go potty.” If you say “in” by my kennel, that’s when I know you want me to get inside.  So I’m super smart!  I would love to have another confident dog in my forever home to help me learn how to be a dog and teach me all the things.  You’ll find me to be loving, gentle, shy, sweet and absolutely precious.  But if you are patient enough to help me over my anxieties, I promise to reward you with all the love and affection you expect from a dog . *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
