Story
Age: Approximately 3 years old Weight: 66 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Unknown Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Unknown Booker, a true snuggle bug, blossoms in the presence of love and companionship, particularly with his foster family and their resident dog. After a difficult past, he's incredibly grateful for the affection he receives, readily settling down for a day of couch cuddles or enjoying energetic play sessions and games of fetch in the yard. He's a sweet and friendly boy who's good with cats, most dogs and eventually warms up to new people, though he may be a bit cautious at first and a little skeptical of meeting new men. Booker is currently learning leash manners and is making progress, even though his excitement can lead him to pull when he spots another dog or a tempting squirrel. He would be a fantastic addition to a home with someone who works from home or another calm dog who can help him continue to gain confidence and settle into a loving routine. Adoption fee: $425.00

Come and meet me at our adoption event at Bruhaven in Minneapolis on 12/27 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm! Age: DOB 9/22/25 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Hi there — I’m Billy! My siblings, Willa and Mullin, and I made the big trip from Oklahoma all the way to Minnesota. Out of the three of us, I’m definitely the quiet one — I only use my voice when I’m really hungry or when the resident dogs are getting fed (because, of course, I don’t want to miss out on the snacks!). I love giving my foster mom kisses and gentle ear nibbles — they always make her laugh. When I’m not snuggling, you can find me wrestling with my siblings, playing in the yard, or taking a cozy nap. I get along great with the big resident dogs and love trying to convince them to play with me. I’m brave, friendly, and always up for fun! Just don’t let my litter mates pull my tail — that’s one thing I’m not a fan of. I’m looking for a forever family to call my own — could that be you? Adoption fee:$595

He is happiest when he can be close to his humans – whether it’s snuggling, walking, or just being together. He loves pets, enjoys walks, playing or lounging in the yard. He has shown himself to be comfortable with many types of dogs and all ages of people. Elkin is steady, calm, and gentle. Elkin also takes great comfort from other dogs, so a confident canine companion is required in his forever home. Watching and learning from other dogs has been key to building his confidence and will continue to help him grow. Because he is still learning to feel safe, Elkin will need a secure fenced yard—he is quick to run if frightened. Elkin’s transformation has been nothing short of remarkable. He’s ready for a family who will continue this journey with him—a family he can love wholeheartedly. He wants so badly to be loved, and he has so much affection (and plenty of kisses!) to give. Story
I adopted Bonnie from the Humane Society November 2023. She was born in October 2020. Bonnie is a beautiful, loving dog but needs a more active family. I am a 71 y/o woman with arthritis & 2 knee replacements. She craves attention / interaction with her owner. At the time I adopted Bonnie I had 2 other elderly dogs at home. They have since both passed away. The last, Kansas, passed away earlier this year. Since then Bonnie has become more fearful of other dogs when we go on walks. She is very active and loves to go on walks. She is very strong and is very intent on chasing squirrels, rabbits, turkeys, etc we see on our walks. This has resulted in her pulling me off my feet. I switched her to a prone collar and we can now walk safely. She does still walk faster than I wish. I have a fenced in back yard and she has a doggy door so she can go out anytime. Unfortunately I have rabbits that "live" under my deck and Bonnie has killed 2 of them. She doesn't eat them though.

Age: Approximately 3 years old Weight: 72lbs Dog friendly: Yes, with proper introduction Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: When properly introduced Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Unknown ***FENCED YARD REQUIRED*** Hello! My name is Lewis but I am often called Lou If you are looking for a friend to watch whatever shows you want on tv I am your guy! If you are looking for someone that loves to chill on the couch with then I am your guy! If you are looking for someone to take walks with or even go for a jog with them I am also your guy as I love to go on walks! I love my humans and get attached to them, so it would be best if I was your one and only fur baby! I do like kids but have never been around real little kids so you may have to watch that I don’t knock them over as I would feel bad. I would love to be with someone who isn’t gone all the time as I will miss them so much. I roam free when my humans are gone and do fine with that, although I do have a habit of counter surfing so its best if you do not leave any food on the counter for me to snack on. I am told that I am the sweetest boy and would love to find my forever home so you can see that too. Lou Adoption Fee: $495

Story
Hi! I’m Dunne, aka Dune-buggy or Duners. Just thought I would stop in with a little update on me. If you’ve read my profile before you may know that I’m originally from Afghanistan and spent my first few years there. Because of my time there, we don’t know much about my previous life except that I was a street dog and didn’t live in a house. Now for the good update part. I’m really liking and getting the hang of this house living thing. The people and other dog I live with have been teaching me a lot of stuff and because of that I feel safer and more comfortable and confident so I do not need to always follow my temporary mom around everywhere she goes in the house. She keeps telling me that I am almost there to being a perfect gentleman. I now sit and wait for my food until I am told I can have it. Same with treats, I don’t try to grab it out of their hand. I do at times have a little too much energy and get a little too excited so I jump around or run up and down the stairs. So little kids or adults that aren’t steady on their feet might not be a good thing. I’m working on it, but sometimes I’m just too excited!!! I have learned to walk nicely on a leash. I stick pretty close to either person walking with me and do well when the other dog here is walking with too, but prefer to be with my foster mom if it’s a group walk. I get scared though of other dogs out or on leashes and tend to get a little reactive. We are working on it, but it’s hard to get over that fear. The people here have learned that I am not a fan of my kennel. I won’t fight it when they leave since the other dog here is already in his, but I get very scared to be in there. At night I don’t have to go in there at all now. This makes me so happy and grateful that I curl up and don’t move all night until it’s time to get up in the morning. Sudden movements too close to me or someone reaching out makes me nervous and cower. I am a lot better than I used to be, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m hoping to find a home that can continue to be more relaxed and patient with me as I continue on this learning journey. I like to lay around and relax most of the time and content with watching the world go by in the yard or deck as mom is tending to her gardens. I am a fast runner and need to get that energy out sometimes, so a fenced yard where I can run or someone that will take me on adventures to get that energy out would be ideal. I love to curl up on the couch with either foster parent and just be with them. Are you ready to be my cuddle partner?       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $425.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 10, 2025, 7:15 am
