Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   This big, goofy boy is all about loving you! He was rescued from a pound in KY. Artie is around 2yrs old and weighs around 90lbs, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to snuggle in your lap and giving you kisses. He will snuggle with you on the couch or even take long, lazy naps with you in bed. He is super friendly with everyone he meets, he even visits at a local nursing home. He was previously fostered in a home with children and did well.  Artie loves running and exploring and due to his size, he would benefit from a fenced in yard to get plenty of exercise. He does well in his kennel while his foster parents are at work, with no accidents. Artie loves playing with his other foster siblings in the fenced in yard and does well at the dog park, but in the home he can get jealous over toys and treats and even of your attention. He would preferably do best as the only dog in the home, but could potentially do ok with a smaller, more submissive dog. Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Cheeto is a young dog with a lot of energy looking for a family that can give him unconditional love, stability, consistency and will continue teaching him boundaries and manners.   He's a young dog (approx 1-2 years old) who has been bounced around too much due to being misunderstood by people and other dogs. Because of this, he is learning how to behave in the right way in order to be successful. Think of him like a toddler who needs instructions on living life. He responds well to positive reinforcement, he needs occasional timeouts in his kennel, he needs structured exercise (walks), he needs the ability to be silly in your back yard, he needs obedience training and he needs a family who is going to be patient with him as he navigates a home life.   Due to being bounced around so much, it takes him about 2 weeks to be able to settle into a new home. He doesn't realize that every home is going to discard him like previously so he pushes those boundaries until he realizes he's safe. This also extends to other dogs. When he met my pack, he barked aggressively and was mouthy, which was not welcomed. He plays hard so if he goes to a home with another dog, it should be an equally fun loving dog who can help teach Cheeto how to be the best dog he can be. He also shouldn't be introduced to a bunch of new people, places and outside dogs until he knows he's in a safe place.   He can go to a home with dog-savvy cats but he's very interested in them and will chase if they run. He's never tried to hurt a cat (lives with 3 in foster home) but he will make sure they're paying attention. He also shouldn't go to a home with small children, because he's not aware of how big he is (60lbs-ish!) and is still mouthy - which is never a good fit with the young kiddos. He has a very soft mouth, and would never hurt anyone intentionally, but just like a toddler, everything goes in his mouth!   Cheeto is a diamond ready to be shined and is trying to hard to be perfect for that perfect family out there Interested in adopting? Come and meet me at our adoption event at Chuck & Don's, Edina on 7/20 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm!   Age: Estimated DOB 3/18/2024 Dog friendly: Yes, I LOVE MY DOGGIE FRIENDS!  Cat friendly: I think so, I've not met one, but I'm a puppy and I love everything! Kid friendly: Yes, I LOVE KIDS!!! Potty trained: Sorta, I'm just a puppy and I'm catching on really quick! Crate trained: Yes, I like to eat and sleep in my crate Hi! My name is Dieter, but my foster mama calls me all sorts of names: Deeterdog, DeeDee, Bubba and my favorite "who's a good boy?"! She says I'm a silly little puppy. I AM pretty goofy - I run sooo fast that I sometimes trip and roll over, I get the zoomies for no reason, my tail never stops wagging and I love to chase bugs and the water that comes out of the hose. That makes her laugh. I'm super curious and catch on to things really fast - I know how to sit, 'go into my house (crate)', know what 'are you hungry?' means and am quickly learning how to play fetch. I'm really good at chasing the ball, picking it up and bringing it back to mama but need to work on actually giving it back to her to throw again. Did you see my video? I LOVE water and will play in my pool (and water bowl!) I am learning to go outside and go potty, but I'm just a baby so I forget sometimes. Mama doesn't know what kind of breed I am, but my birth mama was a beagle- did you see my coloring? I look like a yellow lab with those soulful beagle eyes!  Adoption Fee: $595Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? Age: Approximately 2 years old Weight: 39 lbs Dog friendly: Yes. Additional dog required in home.  Cat friendly: Dog savvy cats only  Kid friendly: Unknown  Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Hi I’m Cobbler! I’m a lab mix who was rescued in Oklahoma. The first couple of years of my life weren’t great and I’m learning to trust people again. I came up with my 6 puppies to help raise them until they could find their forever homes. Now it’s my turn. I love my foster family and their dogs and cats, but it does take me a couple of days to open up to new people. I have shown no aggression but am learning to not be so fearful on a leash and making progress. I start my long walking adventures a little fearful, but after a bit I show you how confident I am and just taking it all in. Once I open up, I want to be right next to you and cuddle. I do love to play with toys and other dogs and you’ll see my goofiness come out. I’m pretty quiet in my home and rarely bark. I would need a quieter home that has patient adults who are willing to let me open up at my own pace and work with me on gaining my confidence. It would also be best to have another dog friend in my home. I promise to give you endless snuggles and kisses. My foster mama says I am a really sweet boy. I love to snuggle and give kisses as well as play with toys and chew bones. I get along great with the other resident dogs and cat too. I love to play with the cat and I think he likes me too. I am a gentle boy and do really well playing with the 2 year old in the house.  I currently sleep in my kennel and I go in there when my foster parents are not home. I do really well in there and I actually like my kennel, I go in there willingly for a nap throughout the day. i am working on potty training but I am not quite there yet, my foster mama says a little more time and I'll have it down though.  I was a solo puppy that came from our partner rescue from a reservation in South Dakota. I survived Parvo and now I am all better and loving life as a healthy puppy! I got my name from my unique coat, I am white with large and small spots all over and two black ears. My foster mama says I'm probably not really dalmation but since we're not really sure my breed mix, anything is possible! Apply to meet me today! She loves riding in the car. If the weather allows, she’s a great dog to go on errands with. I think she’s happier that she was brought along rather than left alone at home. Millie is house trained and at this time she requires an insulin shot right after she eats in the morning and 10-12 hours later, with dinner-she requires special diabetic dog food. Approximate monthly cost of her medications and prescription food is $335.She gets along well with other dogs she can be a bit too much for smaller dogs. and cats are unknown. She can be very vocal when hungry or when she has to go outside. Her best bet is a fenced yard that she can be just let out to go potty when she needs to.  Millie will need to continue to work with a Veterinarian to keep her diabetes regulated so she can live a long happy life.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //
