Story
Black Lab x GSD | Affectionate | Cat Friendly | Dog friendly |Kid friendly|7 months old| Housebroken  Angie has been waiting so patiently for her forever home, tail wagging, kisses ready, hoping today is the day someone finally chooses her... She is one of the most affectionate dogs you'll ever meet. Wherever her person is, that's where Angie wants to be. She is genuinely happy, full of energy, love, and has complete devotion to her family. Even though Angie may look like a grown-up, she is still very much a puppy. She needs a confident person who gives affection AND boundaries, not one without the other. She has responded beautifully to training. Leash walking is night and day better. Jumping has improved. She knows 'sit' and 'crate.' She is definitely one smart girl (so she will test you to see if you'll be consistent)! Lab/German Shepherd mixes have the potential to be the best dog you've ever had or a full-time job. What's the difference? Training. It's not optional for Angie. It's the investment that determines which dog she becomes. Angie loves other dogs (big and small) and does great with cats. She is housebroken, though like any puppy, accidents happen. She currently sleeps in a crate next to her foster's bed at night. One thing to know going in: Like MANY dogs, Angie has separation anxiety. She is crate trained but being alone is hard for her. She gets vocal and distressed. She's improving, and a good bone helps, but 8 hours alone daily is not the right fit. She does best in a home where someone is around for a good part of the day. She is not a good fit for aparment living. If you are a confident, loving, active adopter who can provide structure and presence, Angie will give you everything she has. Adoption Fee: $350 -- includes spay, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Apply at pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application (only applications through this link are accepted). Contact your vet to authorize us to speak with them as soon as you apply -- applications will not move forward without it. Questions: 4leggedlayover@gmail.comJune 3, 2026, 6:38 am

Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet. Meet Puppy Hoagie! Hoagie is 8/9 months old and already weighs a whopping 66lbs! This big boy is so sweet and your typical happy go lucky puppy. He seems to get along with other dogs just fine and has not met cats/kids in our care. Given his demeanor, we believe he would be fine with children who can withstand puppy antics. Hoagie is currently staying at our shelter so we cannot say whether or not he’s housebroken, his new family should be prepared to take on house training. Hoagie requires a special diet that is venison based. He currently eats Chewy Venison & Sweet Potato limited ingredient ($62 for a 24lb bag) His adoption fee is $375. His adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, age appropriate vaccines, heartworm test/prevention, and flea/tick prevention. If you are interested in Hoagie, please fill out an adoption application at www.pawsandprayers.orgJune 3, 2026, 6:38 am

Story
Meet Cactus! This goofy one year old pup is searching for the perfect person, or family, to give all his love and energy to! Cactus is a 60 pound retriever mix full of all the playfulness and energy of a young pup! A goofball at heart, Cactus loves running around carefree and feeling the breeze in his fur. Playful and not picky, he`ll keep himself more than content with a tennis ball to fetch, a squeaky toy to chew on, or a rope to tug. While Cactus is high energy, he`s also very smart and can quickly learn new behaviors (he already knows sit and down!).A bit sensitive in nature, Cactus can take a little bit of time to warm up to new people. But with plenty of patience and a couple yummy treats he`s sure to be a fast friend in no time. Due to his sensitive nature, if there were kids in his forever home they would have to be ages 13-16 and older.Cactus shows potential to live with other pups, however, he will need a slow introduction to any new doggie siblings in order to ensure that he is feeling safe and confident adjusting to his new friends! At this time, we are unsure how Cactus would do around cats. Looking for a goofy young pup to keep the days filled with fun times and snuggles? Stop by and meet Cactus today or call (330) 487-0333 ext. 803!

Taken in by Kent Animal Control, trying to find him a soft place to land in his final years.  He has arthritus, is deaf, sight impaired, and has a few lumps, but basically healthy for his age. He is just a good ole boy that gets along with people and other dogs. The rescue has started Ole Yeller on pain meds to help with his arthritus. Can anyone give this guy a safe and easy ending to what was a happy life with his owner. Would like someone home most of the time.     If interested, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here: adoption application For those viewing on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal please click on More About Rose's Rescue, you may fill out adoption application from there.
