Story
Birdie is a sweet girl. We adopted her and her sister from the animal shelter in NM back in 2019 as puppies. She loves to be outside, watching wildlife. She loves to cuddle on the couch with people. She is a total love bug and will bug you for pets. She is a little on the shy side at first, but warms up easily. She is a wonderful part of our family, we also have her sister and one other dog. They all get along great. She has moved with us to multiple states and is the best companion. My husband and I recently had a baby. As he has grown up, we started having issues. Birdie is not comfortable around him, very nervous and unfortunately growls at him. It completely breaks my heart to give her up, I love her very much but I feel like it is the best thing for her and my family. I cannot trust her around a small child at this point. There is no other reason to rehome her other than because of my son. My hope is to find her a loving home because that is all she deserves.

Story
Meet Roxy! Roxy is about two years old and around 45-50 lbs. She is a sweet girl but did not have a great start in life and as a result can be timid. An experienced owner who can help her confidence will be great for her. She has been with one of our trainers for some time now and is learning good leash manners. She can be worried about greeting strangers and will do best with a gentle intro to new people. Her trainer has been working with her on this also. Roxy will do best as the only dog in the home, though she can play well with other dogs if their personalities match. Roxy is vaccinated, chipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $395. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Meet Gracie! Technically a senior but in her heart and daily outlook Gracie is still a puppy!  This sweet 11 year old girl was adopted from us when she was 9. Unfortunately life changed a lot for her adopter and she was recently returned to us. Sweet Gracie should be the ambassador of pit-mix dogs! She is always smiling, tail wagging  and full of curiosity. She’s easy going and highly motivated by food as well as human affection.  She will happily lay around the house OR accompany you to check out the neighborhood. Gracie is a terrific partner for errands - she LOVES to ride in the car! This chonky girl has spent the summer swimming and sniffing EVERYTHING around Lake Union.  The Lab in her loves to swim but the pittie parts require a flotation swim vest!  She retrieves balls, sticks and the occasional log but you’ll have to persuade her to give them up once she comes to shore.  Gracie is always ready to give and receive attention - especially if belly rubs are offered.  And she is soooooo soft! She is ok meeting other dogs on the leash but wants to have your home to herself where she can soak up all the love. We prefer to see her in a home without young kids as her body is starting to get some aches and pains. A home with a backyard would be magnificent. Her foster lives on a houseboat/barge and she gets plenty of fun outside time. Gracie does have a couple of health issues now;  some arthritis that requires daily medication (not very expensive) and she has some spondylosis (stiffness) in her spine - but that doesn’t slow her enjoyment of life or her ability to love you. She will fill your home with sunshine on a rainy day!  Gracie is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, her adoption fee is $195. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Story
Meet Cheddar! Cheddar is a one year mixed breed dog with a cute short legged stature. He was found in a drain pipe with two siblings (who have both been adopted). Cheddar has been in his foster home for a while now and is ready to find his forever home. From his foster family: Cheddar is a sweet, loving puppy. He can be unsure with new people and in new situations as he is still learning that people are good and the world does not have to be scary.  Cheddar loves to play, especially playing fetch. He doesn't always bring the toy back but he is having fun with it at least. He loves being outside in general. He will forget to go pee and just sit in the yard and watch people, dogs and cars drive by. He isn't fearful of other dogs, and often doesn't even notice squirrels or bunnies close by as we walk him.  Walks are short, usually around the block. He can get a bit overwhelmed when things are busy outside. He might like another dog in the house that he can zoom around with and get his wiggles out.  He grudgingly accepts sleeping in the crate at night. If he can see you, he is ok.  Mostly he adores his people. He follows them everywhere and always wants to snuggle. He loves being petted and is just a love. He just needs some patience and a more quiet home.  We recommend Cheddar for a calm home with kids over 12 only. Another dog is ideal. A yard is a must.  Cheddar is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Story
Meet Josie! What an amazing dog!   We all love her so much and she desperately needs a loving home. We suggest a female only home for the moment. She is a LOVER and we want to show her how good life can be! She also loves other dogs her size (medium on up). She is a squish able and super cuddly and will make a sweet companion who is all in about cozy night! She loves to watch TV or hang out with you and loves to rest her head or paw on you (yes, we know, swoon). She loves to be connected to her people. Josie has the sweetest, most soulful eyes. Once she warms to you, her eyes brim with love and trust. She loves to play! She is full of life and curious and is 2 1/2 years old. She will benefit, too, if you happen to have another medium to larger dog in the home. She has the CUTEST little pounce that makes everyone smile, whether she is cheering up other dogs or making people laugh with her goofy antics. She also is quite the adventure buddy and walks, hikes, running, any of it, she is up for it! She is learning leash walking and doing well. She is also crazy about water and swimming! Come and meet this gorgeous girl. She will be vaccinated, chipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $495. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
