Story
Birdie is a sweet girl. We adopted her and her sister from the animal shelter in NM back in 2019 as puppies. She loves to be outside, watching wildlife. She loves to cuddle on the couch with people. She is a total love bug and will bug you for pets. She is a little on the shy side at first, but warms up easily. She is a wonderful part of our family, we also have her sister and one other dog. They all get along great. She has moved with us to multiple states and is the best companion. My husband and I recently had a baby. As he has grown up, we started having issues. Birdie is not comfortable around him, very nervous and unfortunately growls at him. It completely breaks my heart to give her up, I love her very much but I feel like it is the best thing for her and my family. I cannot trust her around a small child at this point. There is no other reason to rehome her other than because of my son. My hope is to find her a loving home because that is all she deserves.

Story
I have 2 dogs that I would like to keep together because the yellow lab/golden retriever mix is very attached to his sister Khloe. His name is Lenny they both grew up with kids from infants to a teenager. Since my wife and kids moved out of state I no longer have the time to give them the attention they deserve because of my work schedule so they spend way too much time in the kennel.

I just had a baby and they just don't like one another. Shes miserable an needs room to run and protect us from squirrels [her full time job]. Her parents where both akc pure breed. Father was black lab and mother was a chow chow her parent where show lines but since they breed together her litter was discarded. Every1 thinks shes a blue/ gray akita. She recently had puppies I don't have the time or means to supply her w the nutrients or attention she needs.

Story
Millie is a very sweet sensitive dog. Her favorite activities are snuggling, walks with her person, and sunbathing outside. My wife rescued her prior to us meeting and she was professionally trained. She was very accepting of me when I came into the picture but we recently added a new child to the home and she has had difficulty adjusting. Routine's changed. Priorities changed. Millie really needs a home where she can receive more one on one attention. She needs an owner who has time to snuggle, rub her belly, and watch TV with her. She also needs a small yard with some sunshine where she can lounge and soak up the sun. She is not social and prefers solitude and a small circle of trusted loved ones. She lives for her walks with her owner and will ask for a walk twice a day so she can proudly show you off to the neighborhood. We really love Millie and we are trying to make this work but if the right person or couple came along, we would prefer she go somewhere more comfortable for her.

Story
Fun and sassy. Can be both energetic and also likes to lounge around. She can be chill but still has puppy behavior. Likes to play with her toys and will throw them at you. She hangs out by the window to watch people and the birds until it's time for walks. Loves long walks and toys that make noise. Good with children but reactive with dogs. Does not do well with cats or animals that can be chased. House-trained and fine in a crate but has been roaming crate-free with no issues. Poops on command. Leash reactive. Her trust in other animals is a result from having a run in with a raccoon. up to date with vaccines, micro-chipped. has mild hip dysplasia but there has been improvement since taking supplements. Does not bother her at all.

Story
Meet Gracie! Technically a senior but in her heart and daily outlook Gracie is still a puppy!  This sweet 11 year old girl was adopted from us when she was 9. Unfortunately life changed a lot for her adopter and she was recently returned to us. Sweet Gracie should be the ambassador of pit-mix dogs! She is always smiling, tail wagging  and full of curiosity. She’s easy going and highly motivated by food as well as human affection.  She will happily lay around the house OR accompany you to check out the neighborhood. Gracie is a terrific partner for errands - she LOVES to ride in the car! This chonky girl has spent the summer swimming and sniffing EVERYTHING around Lake Union.  The Lab in her loves to swim but the pittie parts require a flotation swim vest!  She retrieves balls, sticks and the occasional log but you’ll have to persuade her to give them up once she comes to shore.  Gracie is always ready to give and receive attention - especially if belly rubs are offered.  And she is soooooo soft! She is ok meeting other dogs on the leash but wants to have your home to herself where she can soak up all the love. We prefer to see her in a home without young kids as her body is starting to get some aches and pains. A home with a backyard would be magnificent. Her foster lives on a houseboat/barge and she gets plenty of fun outside time. Gracie does have a couple of health issues now;  some arthritis that requires daily medication (not very expensive) and she has some spondylosis (stiffness) in her spine - but that doesn’t slow her enjoyment of life or her ability to love you. She will fill your home with sunshine on a rainy day!  Gracie is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, her adoption fee is $195. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
