Story
This cutie is Joey, a.k.a. Jojo. He is a 3 year old, 6 pound,  Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier cross (Morkie) who is super sweet, social, and friendly. Jojo is very small but has a big personality -  sweet with a little bit of feisty. He enjoys being held and loved on, plays with his toys in the home, and really enjoys the company of other friendly/playful dogs.  He has lots of energy and will require playtime and attention from his adopter.  Jojo is crate trained but prefers to roam the house, is housebroken, and walks well on a leash; he believes it is his duty to impress other dogs on walks so he becomes quite vocal. Jojo would do best having a fenced-in backyard for outside play time and toileting. Jojo is approved for households with children over the age of 8 years. Jojo will require routine grooming due to his non-shedding coat. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians and is in good health, received vaccinations, and has been dewormed, tested for heartworm disease and tick-borne diseases, neutered, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE BY REQUEST from acaringplace@comcast.net  Our online application is not working properly - do not use. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     April 9, 2025, 2:41 pm

*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. *** My dog`s name is Winston, and he is a maltipoo who is 10 yrs old going to be 11 this year. Hes been around a cat previously for 5 years and they got along well. He hasn’t been around a lot of toddlers. He needs a lot of attention and would do well with someone who is retired or works from home. Both of my kids are grown and moved out and I’m taking care of my mother who has Alzheimer’s by myself now. I don’t have the bandwidth to give him the attention he deserves and that’s why I’m looking for a home for him. He’s only 7 pounds and a lot of fluff so he can run in between your legs so not good for someone who can trip easily. He is a lap dog and is perfectly content just cuddling with someone. He does have a high-pitched bark and loves to talk when he’s excited. He is neutered and up to date with all shots. He did have bladder stones and he’s on a vet px diet and is due for his 4-month checkup to see if he has any left which I’m taking him to in another week. He just had a checkup, and his teeth cleaned end of last year. He’s in good health and very friendly. He doesn’t like to be on his back, so you have to hold him like a football but loves to be in someone’s arms. He is crate trained, and pee pad trained. I keep a pad in the bathroom for him in case, but he will go outside if you take him out regularly and as soon as he’s done eating. For adoption information, please email momi1600@gmail.com.

Story
Mary is a Maltese ready to find a great home! Mary (along with Catherine, a Maltese also available for adoption) was surrendered by family after the owner passed away in December of 2024. Catherine and Mary are not bonded and don't have to be adopted together. Unfortunately, scant details were provided about them. What we do know for certain is that both girls are young(er), were in poor condition (flea infestations), pancaked over thresholds, and were woefully under socialized. The really great news is that they are blossoming with good care, good food and a whole lot of love! Given Mary’s proclivity for running zoomies, jumping on furniture and dogs, she is very much a puppy. Our best guess is no more than two years of age. Despite the joy and zest with which Mary greets life, she is the most timid of the two dogs. Mary expects for you to hit her when she is approached. She will immediately pancake to the floor, cowering. When she first arrived in foster care, Mary suffered two seizures which were most likely precipitated by the stress of constantly moving homes. Mary is on a vet approved protocol of CBD for seizures and has not suffered any additional seizures since. Mary is now house trained and is able to eat her food and digest without throwing everything up an hour after a meal. Mary, all sweetness and youth, acts as if her world is unsafe. She will require a home that is able help her become relaxed with knowing she is loved. Mary must have a very secure fenced yard as she is a runner and will jump and run at a moment’s notice. Mary will do okay as an only dog but would do best with an active household with a confident, patient dog to teach Mary the ropes. Mary will bully a timid dog as she plays rough and pushes the limit. Mary is wary of a harness and allows one to be fitted but is still a scrambler on a leash. She is smart and will learn this in time. Mary is up to date on shots, spayed, de-wormed, micro-chipped and fecal tested negative. She also recently got a dental cleaning. We require an adoption application, phone interview, virtual house check, and meet and greet with your entire family. For an adoption application, please visit us at https://www.petprofilerescue.org or at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1S5v9x1oGSYLBSfheZJ_zSvkIHoT3Fe_xnsq5V75IX9w/viewform?fbclid=IwAR0rU1zQezgZhhC_01_JpMFhujOq40cu8Xl4xKdiZ0b1L-3Pwm1Et-XI3K4&edit_requested=true If you have already submitted an application to us, email us at petprofilerescue@gmail.com to express your interest in this dog. Story
Noah is a puppy known as a Malchipoo, a maltese/chihuahua and Poodle pup. He is a loving little guy who will start out a bit shy. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and dogs not have the same puppy experiences a dog might have that was born in your home. He wasn't exposed to the same things at an early age. That being said, he is learning and adjusting well now that he is with us. He is a happy guy who loves to play with his mates. He will need house training and regular training like any puppy would. He is best suited for a home rather than an apartment or condo setting. Noah is a little guy causing him to be more fragile, He can't be in a home with little kids but would be fine with older kids. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Noah important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Noah is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $600..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Liam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in and to the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate, please fill out an application for adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us via email/ Do not call. There is no one to answer a phone, RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com. Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is an in home volunteer foster based rescue. We are not a brick and mortar. There is no building to visit If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help, please consider a donation for his food, housing, and veterinary care. Story
Simon Was Born In A Puppy Mill. Thankfully, the breeder didn't have use for him giving Simon a chance out of the mill. We took him and now he is free to find his forever committed family. Simon is a very happy active spirited dog . He is high energy and a vocal fellow if he isn't getting what he wants! He will do best in a home with a yard, not an apartment or condo setting. Simon is happy to have a companion dog to play with. He is fine with cats and all people. Simon needs to learn house manners. He has the basic skill but needs to be set on a routine. A belly band will be a good tool to keep him in check. He and his family would also benefit from a training class. Like all dogs he will need structure and a patient loving home. We recommend training for all dogs. You and your puppy/dog will create a stronger bond just for having gone to training. Simon is a little over a year old and fully vetted, He has been neutered, has received age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, Subsequent vaccines are at the expense of his adopter, His adoption fee is $600.
