This sweet 7 yr old Maltese mix recently came to us from a shelter so his history is unknown. But from even his first few days it's obvious he was in a home since he makes himself comfortable on a couch or in your bed and loves to cuddle. He is good with other dogs of a similar size. It will take us a little more time to know more about his personality.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Delia is a little ray of sunshine! She’s as sweet as they come, loving, happy, and always ready to soak up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. Whether she’s cuddled up next to you, napping in a sunny spot, or heading out for a nice walk, Delia is simply happiest being part of your day. She loves her food, her people, and all the simple pleasures in life. Her foster family shared that she settled into their home quickly, as if she’d always belonged there. Delia is friendly and affectionate, though she can be a little hesitant around new people at first and prefers gentle introductions. She doesn’t like being startled or picked up by people she doesn’t know well, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. She’s also quite vocal when she’s excited or wants to tell you something! For her age, Delia has a surprising amount of energy and has recently discovered how much fun toys can be. She especially enjoys playing with her foster sister and joining in on daily activities. While baths aren’t exactly her favorite thing, she tolerates them like a champ. Delia came to us from animal control, but it’s clear she was once very loved and cared for—she has wonderful manners and an easygoing nature. Adaptable, affectionate, and full of personality, Delia would thrive in a patient home that respects her boundaries and gives her the love and reassurance she deserves. Priscilla is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Priscilla may not live at Graceland, but she absolutely carries herself like royalty. This approx. five-year-old Maltese mix arrived a little unsure of the spotlight, easily startled by new sounds and quick movements, often retreating to her “cubby” crate like a starlet escaping the flashing cameras. But just like her famous namesake, once she realized she was safe and adored, her true personality began to shine. These days, she happily lounges beside her people on the couch, soaking up pets and brushing sessions while keeping a watchful eye on her kingdom. She’s sweet, affectionate, and devoted — the kind of companion who quickly becomes your little shadow — though she still keeps a touch of sass worthy of a Presley.Priscilla has mastered the art of house training and politely lets you know when she needs to go out by pacing or heading for the back door. She enjoys the finer things in life: cozy dog beds, relaxing in her crate, tasty meals with softened kibble and canned food mixed in, and the occasional treat she may attempt to “borrow” from another dog if given the opportunity. While she’s cautious around other pups at first, she’s beginning to discover her playful side, recently initiating games with toys and joining the fun for short bursts before returning to her composed diva demeanor. She knows “sit,” responds to directions to go into her cubby, and only barks when there’s truly something worth announcing.Outdoors is where Priscilla channels her inner rock-and-roll energy. She loves strutting ahead on walks like she’s leading her own tour, though she’s still working on leash manners. She adores running around outside and will happily follow the excitement if another dog spots a squirrel or bird. Though she can occasionally get a little mouthy during play, she’s otherwise respectful in the home and doesn’t chew things she shouldn’t. Beneath her glamorous straight coat hides soft curly fur that requires regular brushing to keep her looking stage-ready and mat-free. Spike has the most fun natural blonde Mohawk that just adds to his charm! DOB 5/8/24 and around 25 lbs. Spike prefers a home without cats and, honestly, would do best as the only furry companion. He can be a bit of an attention hog and doesn’t like to share his favorite human! He would also do best in a home with no kids or kids over 12, who will respect his personal space while he adjusts to a new environment. Maybe a Unicorn family so to speak? I’ve been called “A terrible dog”. Unpredictable and just plain crazy. People just haven’t been able to understand my quirks. I’m nothing but misunderstood!! I do need some time to adjust as something in my past has left me very nervous. My human mom passed away and I was put into the system. I’m used to a quiet and peaceful home. My human foster sister is my most favorite person ever and her mom is pretty nice too. If you have patience and lots of love I’m your guy! Am I a bit of a challenge? Maybe!! Am I cute as cute can be? Definitely!!, Am I worth the effort? You bet I am!! I am an adorable and smart little boy. When I like you….I would do anything for you!! If I don’t, then I’m a bit of a tiny Jerk!!
