At 12 years young, this sweet Shih Tzu has perfected the art of calm companionship—she’s soft, serene, and radiates an almost angelic peace wherever she rests. If you’re looking for a dog who brings tranquility and warmth into your home, Imogen is your girl.Imogen is wonderfully easygoing and happy just being near her people. She adores lap time, gentle scratches, and loving attention when she’s awake, though she’s equally content spending much of her day napping sweetly in her cozy bed. She never barks, has no bad habits, and is beautifully well-behaved when left alone—no crate required.This precious girl is blind and hard of hearing, which only adds to her peaceful nature. She doesn’t need commands to thrive—just routine, patience, and love. Imogen does best on the lower level of the home and prefers to avoid stairs, snow, mud, and other tricky surfaces. She enjoys being outside when the weather is kind, especially if there’s a clear, shoveled path for her to stroll.Imogen is indifferent to other dogs, unfazed by the world around her, and simply asks for a soft place to land and a gentle human to love. This sweet 7 yr old Maltese mix recently came to us from a shelter so his history is unknown. But from even his first few days it's obvious he was in a home since he makes himself comfortable on a couch or in your bed and loves to cuddle. He is good with other dogs of a similar size. It will take us a little more time to know more about his personality.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Delia is a little ray of sunshine! She’s as sweet as they come, loving, happy, and always ready to soak up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. Whether she’s cuddled up next to you, napping in a sunny spot, or heading out for a nice walk, Delia is simply happiest being part of your day. She loves her food, her people, and all the simple pleasures in life. Her foster family shared that she settled into their home quickly, as if she’d always belonged there. Delia is friendly and affectionate, though she can be a little hesitant around new people at first and prefers gentle introductions. She doesn’t like being startled or picked up by people she doesn’t know well, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. She’s also quite vocal when she’s excited or wants to tell you something! For her age, Delia has a surprising amount of energy and has recently discovered how much fun toys can be. She especially enjoys playing with her foster sister and joining in on daily activities. While baths aren’t exactly her favorite thing, she tolerates them like a champ. Delia came to us from animal control, but it’s clear she was once very loved and cared for—she has wonderful manners and an easygoing nature. Adaptable, affectionate, and full of personality, Delia would thrive in a patient home that respects her boundaries and gives her the love and reassurance she deserves. Spike is a handsome maltipoo mix. He can be a little shy at first, it takes him a minute to trust someone and warm up. But once he does, you have best friend for life! He is a very happy cuddly dog. Spike has the most fun natural blonde Mohawk that just adds to his charm! DOB 5/8/24 and around 25 lbs. Spike prefers a home without cats and, honestly, would do best as the only furry companion. He can be a bit of an attention hog and doesn’t like to share his favorite human! He would also do best in a home with no kids or kids over 12, who will respect his personal space while he adjusts to a new environment.
