Story
This cutie is BONNIE, a very sweet, initially shy,  3-year-old, 17 pound, female, Maltese/Poodle cross. After a couple days of settling in with her foster family which has adults and teens, they found Bonnie to be easy going, a  “go with the flow”  kind of dog in the home. Her foster home has a couple Bully breed mixes and a couple smaller mixed breed dogs; Bonnie gets along easily with all but her best friend is Kimbo (a little Terrier mix) who is also up for adoption.   Bonnie is housebroken. She is trained to use potty pads but is being trained to toilet outside on the grass and is doing well with that, in part because of the other dogs in her foster home showing her. Bonnie really enjoys spending time in the backyard. She is a bit of a barker so she’s not appropriate for apartment or condo living. Bonnie requires a calmer home that has another dog with whom to socialize and a securely fenced yard.    Because her first owners didn’t introduce Bonnie to other people when she was a puppy, it takes her time to get comfortable with new people. Taking things slowly with her is essential - and it works! Once Bonnie is comfortable, she is very sweet and friendly. She enjoys going for walks but she can be reactive, which is her insecurity and fear to unknown people. She would benefit from continued gentle training to help her not find the world such a scary place. Bonnie’s foster family is taking her for short walks to help her have positive experiences.    This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, been tested for diseases, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. ********AVAILABLE******* Hi Everyone, My name is Baxter and I am a 6lb 6-7 year old Maltese. I’m hoping that I can find a family who is up for somewhat of a challenge. Maybe a Unicorn family so to speak? I’ve been called “A terrible dog”. Unpredictable and just plain crazy. People just haven’t been able to understand my quirks. I’m nothing but misunderstood!! I do need some time to adjust as something in my past has left me very nervous. My human mom passed away and I was put into the system. I’m used to a quiet and peaceful home. My human foster sister is my most favorite person ever and her mom is pretty nice too. If you have patience and lots of love I’m your guy! Am I a bit of a challenge? Maybe!! Am I cute as cute can be? Definitely!!, Am I worth the effort? You bet I am!! I am an adorable and smart little boy. When I like you….I would do anything for you!! If I don’t, then I’m a bit of a tiny Jerk!! Investing your time and love into me will be so worth it!! I promise!! I am good with other animals. I get along with all sizes and ages of dogs. Her name is Princess and she has been a big part of my life and family m and is truly a sweet, gentle soul. Due to personal reasons and the care demands of another senior dog in my home who is also dealing with health issues, I’m no longer able to give Princess the level of care and attention she deserves. Princess does come with some challenges, and I want to be completely transparent so she can be placed in the right environment: • Bell’s palsy • Separation anxiety • Dental disease that will require ongoing care Despite these challenges, Princess is loving and bonds deeply with her person. She would do best in a calm, stable home with someone who has patience, compassion, and ideally experience with senior or special-needs dogs. A home where someone is around most of the day would be ideal. This decision comes from love, not lack of it. My goal is to ensure Princess is safe, cared for, and surrounded by understanding and kindness for the rest of her life. Please let me know if you can assist with Princess. Coco 26 is a lucky girl who made her way to Mag Mutts after her owner's could no longer care for her.  Foster home update:   Meet Coco!! She is a 1-2  year old Maltese mix that weighs just at 10lbs. She is currently recovering from a foreign body surgery she had on 5/10. Coco is so playful and an absolute lover! She will become your little shadow. She is crate trained!!! Sleeps through the night no problem. Fully house trained as well!    She loves to play and chase after toys, and very into fetch! She’s a snuggle bug. She loves to lay with you and sit in your lap.   She is great with other dogs, and uses her whole voice to say hello!!! I think she’d be great with kids. Cats could go either way! We recommend training for all our dogs!     **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Born around March 12, 2025, Myles weighs 17.6 pounds and is full of personality. He came to us as part of a 29-dog seizure where, although the dogs were cared for, they didn’t get the individual attention and socialization they needed. Despite that, Myles has proven to be incredibly friendly and people-loving. He thrives on attention and is always excited to be around his humans. Myles would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, as he truly enjoys companionship and being part of daily life. Myles has also been seen by an ophthalmologist and has cataracts in one eye. He is currently on special eye drops, and we are hopeful for improvement with continued treatment. He also has a playful side—he absolutely loves toys and is always up for some fun. Whether it’s a game of toss or just carrying his favorite toy around, he knows how to enjoy life. He’s currently learning how to walk on a leash and will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue helping him build confidence and skills. With his sweet nature and eagerness to connect, Myles is sure to make a wonderful companion. Myles’ adoption fee is $400.
