Hi! My name is Pearl and I am from a shelter in Kentucky. I used to live in a home with a human and one other dog-a boy dog who was just a few pounds bigger than me. Then, sadly, our human passed away and we ended up in an animal control. Pearl is a loving and playful girl who enjoys playing with toys especially with her human. She is house trained, as long as we stick to a schedule. She likes toys, especially anything you can wriggle to look like a mouse or chipmunk. She loves attention and cuddling on the couch. She gives lots of "kisses. She loves going for walks and seems comfortable on a leash. When we bring her for walks around a nearby lake we often encounter other dogs. Pearl is generally calm around other dogs-big and small-but will growl or bark back if another dog growls at her. She also may get nervous and/or bark if there is a bottle-neck and there are a large number of people and/or dogs converging on a path that has no walking space to the side of the path (of course, there are training alternatives to this situation and I can give you materials with options on how to respond to this scenario). She seems fine with kids ages 7 and up (although she doesn't currently live with any). Kids younger than that seem to make her uncomfortable if they approach her and come within arm's reach. Pearl does seem to have some separation anxiety which means that when she is left home alone she does sometimes bark and howl so would not do well in a home with shared walls. Pearl has beautiful, soft hair. If you are thinking of applying to adopt Pearl please know that she needs someone willing to spend a bit more time on her hair than what some other dogs need. Her hair requires daily brushing and combing to the skin to keep her coat from matting. Although we can't know her breed mix for certain, if you look up Maltipoo (a maltese - poodle mix), the traits and personality characteristics listed fit with what we have observed of her so far. Pearl loves her humans and likes getting attention. This tiny dog has a whole lot of love to give to someone willing to give her the time and attention she needs.

I'm Pixie! I am from Missouri. From the foster: Pixie is a very active puppy who loves being outside, working for treats in slow feeders, and playing with toys. She is a pup who loves to exercise both her mind and body daily! She is crate trained and does well for about 5 hours at a time before needing a potty break during the day. She sleeps through the night just fine. House training is in progress - she will go potty outside on a schedule but also still have accidents daily. Her forever family should be excited for socializing and training as she continues working on house training, walking with a loose leash, and choosing items that are appropriate for chewing through her current teething phase! As she is teething, any interactions with young children should be closely supervised to help redirect or avoid nipping. She is friendly and gets along well with the resident animals as well as other dogs she's met on leash. She will sometimes become vocal and chase the resident cat playfully, but her overall alertness around the cat has continued to decrease over the last week. She should be able to live harmoniously with anyone with the right support and direction from her people!

  Hi! I am Bella and I am looking for my forever home! I came all the way from Texas to the lovely state of Minnesota and so far I am loving it! The grass is so much softer up here and I love to play in it. I am still little so I am working on my potty training but my foster parents say I am fast learner (I even learned how to do the stairs in 1 day!)  I love to play with the dogs and kids who live in my foster house! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Pink! She is a goofy, snuggly, and adorable gal from Mexico. Look at those ears! Sometimes they are up, sometimes they are down, and sometimes they are both! She loves to snuggle her people on the couch and take walks outside. She does really well on a leash, knows how to sit, and is doing so well with potty training! Pink sleeps in her kennel and stays in it when we are at work. She isn't the biggest fan of her kennel but sleeps through the night and quiets down pretty quickly during the day too.  Pink is pretty cautious around new people and needs to be introduced slowly. She is wary of quick movements when in new environments and around unknown people. However, once she is comfortable around you she loves you and will follow you around.  She can be a sneaky one! Pink loves to explore under beds, hop on tables, and find food hiding in backpacks or bags. Lucky for you she doesn't chew on things unless it's food! **I am currently residing in a foster home. Arrangements can be made to meet me with an approved adoption application**They say good things come in small packages,right? Well, I'm here to tell you that it's really true! Charlie is my name and I'm a sweet and easygoing Maltese mix male who is 13 years young. I say that because I still like to play and go for walks (I do very well on leash). I was originally adopted from Animal Ark but my owner passed away. I'm very sad but know that I have to find a new home and adjust to new surroundings. I am cautious with other dogs,and have no experience with cats or children. I was the only pet in my home and I'm house trained, too, and will bark when I have to go outside.

I’m very afraid of being touched by humans but I do love them.  I’ve been brave enough to lick my foster mom’s hand but I’ll run away if you try to hold me or pick me up.  With time, lots of patience and love, I’ll get there.  I’m getting a little better every day but when things are scary, they’re really scary! You have to understand that I likely have never been in a loving home so sounds like the TV, clanking dishes, the horrible vacuum and lots of commotion might make me a little worried. I have shown foster mom that I do have some puppy antics in me, hee hee! I like to play with soft toys, run around the yard and wrestle with the other dogs in my foster home. So, it’ll be important that I have a good doggy role model in my forever home to help me learn that touch isn’t scary and keep learning. A social, well-balanced and confident dog is required. This means that my buddy will need to show me humans are safe, how to get on a potty routine and teach me which toys are the best! My fur-brother and the other dogs in my foster home have been amazing teachers! I am still working on my dog skills like potty training. We go outside on a routine, but I will still need of practice in my forever home. Foster mom wants to let you know that I am smart – I already know what “go potty” means! We tried kennel training, and oh boy, I will tell you how much I don’t like it! Bark bark! Foster mom uses gates for the dogs when she isn’t home. I also bark at her when she comes home – maybe I’m telling you I’m glad you’re home, or maybe I’m filling you in on what happened when you were away!  Also, a fenced yard is required as I don’t have a leash or tie-out experience. This is very important for potty training too. My foster mom said I’m fun, adorable, learns quickly and likes to play with other dogs and that I play hard!  Oh and that I have a wonderful appetite!
