SweetTart is a Velcro puppy who believes personal space is highly overrated! When you come home, she gets so excited that she wants to cover your entire face in kisses. Why settle for a simple hello when you can get the full SweetTart smooch treatment? This adorable girl has the cutest little curled tail and an underbite that will steal your heart. She gets along with other dogs and doesn’t mind sharing her home with cats, either! SweetTart is still working on her potty training and learning that it’s okay when her people leave. She can be a little barky when you head out, but she’s already showing improvement. SweetTart would love a family who wants a loyal little shadow, a professional cuddle buddy, and a puppy who thinks every homecoming deserves a kissing marathon. If you’re looking for a best friend who will adore you with her whole heart (and then some), **SweetTart is ready to stick to you like sugar! Local adoption fee is $450(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $750 (includes transport to your area)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Shelby! A Tiny Maltese with a Big Personality! Hi, I’m Shelby! I’m a tiny Maltese with a whole lot of love, a playful spirit, and a personality that makes me seem much younger than I am! I’m a very friendly little girl who loves being around my people and making friends with other dogs. I’m currently living with three little dogs in my foster home (Maltese and Poms), and I get along great with them! I’d love a home where I can have plenty of companionship, cuddles, and playtime. One of my favorite things in the whole world is my stuffed squeaky toys! You’ll often find me happily trotting around with one in my mouth, showing off my favorite treasure. When I’m not busy playing, I’m more than happy to snuggle up on the couch with my favorite humans. I’m a pretty easygoing girl overall, and I do well spending the night loose in my foster home. I’m not a big fan of kennels, though, and I can be vocal when crated or left alone for a while. I may need a little patience and understanding as I settle into my forever home. Because I’m so tiny, I’ll need a family that keeps my safety in mind. I can squeeze through surprisingly small openings in chain-link fencing, so I’ll need close supervision whenever I’m outside. I’d also do best with other small, gentle dogs rather than large, active dogs who might accidentally hurt me during playtime. I have so much love to give and a fun, youthful spirit that will keep you smiling! Whether we’re playing with squeaky toys, hanging out with other little dogs, or cuddling on the couch, I’m happiest when I’m with my people. Could you be my forever family? If you’re looking for a tiny, friendly, playful companion who’s ready to fill your home with love, I might just be your girl! ❤️ Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Lulu the Maltese — Looking for Her Forever Home! ❤️ Sweet Lulu is still learning about the comforts of home and discovering what it means to feel safe and loved. She’s a curious little girl who enjoys exploring her surroundings and being held by her trusted humans. Lulu loves having a furry friend! She follows her foster sister around and seems to take comfort in having another dog nearby. She enjoys picking up little toys, especially soft or rubber ones, even if she hasn’t quite figured out how to play with them yet. Lulu is still building her confidence and will need a patient, understanding family willing to let her settle in at her own pace. The world can be a scary place for this little girl, and she is very fearful of new things. She is not leash-trained yet and is a flight risk, so her safety will need to be a top priority while she learns to trust her new surroundings. Lulu is looking for a home that offers: A patient, loving family who will give her time to blossom. A friendly companion dog to help her feel safe and secure. A safe, secure environment with extra precautions to prevent escapes. Gentle encouragement as she learns about leash walking and the big world around her. Plenty of love, cuddles, and understanding. ❤️ Lulu may need a little extra time to feel comfortable, but with patience, consistency, and a canine friend by her side, she deserves the chance to discover just how wonderful life can be. ✨ Could you be the safe haven this precious little Maltese girl has been waiting for? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Baby Archie! “Are you ready for some puppy kisses?” — Love, Archie! Archie is the sweetest little guy with a big heart and so much love to give! At home, he’s completely comfortable and loves prancing around the house, checking in on every room to make sure he doesn’t miss a thing. He’s a perfect mix of playful and cuddly, with little bursts of energy when he’s ready to play and a love for squeaky toys. Once he’s all tuckered out, he’s more than happy to curl up in your lap for a nice, long nap. ❤️ This little shadow loves his people and wants to be wherever they are, preferably 24/7! Whether you’re lounging on the couch, going for a walk, or just going about your day, Archie is happiest by your side. He does well out in the world, but cars, people, and other dogs can be distracting. He can also be a little shy when strangers get too close, so he appreciates having the opportunity to approach people on his own terms. Loud noises can startle him, too, so a patient and understanding family will help him feel safe and secure. Archie is still working on becoming fully potty trained, but he’s making progress and has minimal accidents when kept on a consistent potty schedule. He also experiences separation anxiety, so he would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time or where he has another companion to help keep him company. If you’re looking for a little best friend who will happily snuggle in your lap, join you on walks, entertain you with his playful antics, and shower you with puppy kisses, Archie might just be your perfect match! He has so much love to give and is ready to find his forever family. I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, my name is Walker! Hi there! I’m Walker, a sweet, gentle puppy with a big heart and lots of love to give! I love playing with my toys, running around the yard, and spending time with my favorite people. I’m also a total cuddle bug, so if you’re looking for a little buddy who loves being close, I might just be your guy! I’m not a wild and crazy, nonstop-energy kind of puppy. I enjoy exploring the world around me, playing for a while, and then settling down for a nice, long nap in my cozy dog bed. My favorite things in life are food, toys, and sleep — honestly, what more could a puppy need? Dinner time is one of my favorite parts of the day!  I also share well with other dogs, and I’ve met cats, too. I do like to bark at them sometimes, though, so I may need a little help learning how to be calm around my feline friends. At night, I sleep in a kennel with my brother and do really well! I haven’t tried sleeping on my own just yet, so I may need a little patience and encouragement as I learn that being a big boy by myself is okay, too. I can be a little timid when things get loud, and I’m still working on building my confidence. New experiences can feel a bit scary, but with a patient, loving family by my side, I know I can keep growing braver every day. ❤️ My favorite things: Toys, yummy food, exploring the yard, cozy naps, and snuggling with my people! My perfect family: Someone who will give me love, help me feel safe, and let me discover the world at my own pace. I’m a gentle, affectionate boy who just needs a little reassurance to become the most confident version of myself. I have so much love to give, and I can’t wait to find a family to share it with. Could you be the one I’ve been waiting for? I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Little Baby Dayton! Dayton is the sweetest little boy ever! At just 5 months old, he’s an old man trapped in a puppy’s body. He loves going for walks, playing with his toys, chewing on bones and chewy sticks, and, most of all, cuddling with his favorite humans! This little guy is a dream when it comes to bedtime — he sleeps through the night without accidents, so you can get your beauty sleep! He’s also about as low-maintenance as a puppy can get. Dayton doesn’t ask for much; he just wants to be loved. Once he bonds with you, he’ll happily follow you everywhere and make sure you’re never without a little puppy snuggle buddy. If you’re sitting down to cuddle, expect him to be touching you at all times! Dayton can be a little shy when meeting new people or adjusting to a new environment, but give him a couple of days to settle in, and his sweet personality starts to shine. ❤️ He can get overwhelmed by too much commotion, so he would love a home where he can feel safe, secure, and loved while he builds his confidence. He’s still learning about the big world around him, and sometimes the leash can feel a little intimidating, causing him to freeze. With patience, encouragement, and time to adjust, he’ll have the opportunity to grow more confident at his own pace. Dayton’s favorite things: Bones, chewy sticks, toys, walks, and ALL the cuddles! What Dayton needs: A little patience, a calm and loving environment, and someone who understands that shy little puppies just need time to blossom. Dayton is an absolute sweetheart, and whoever gets to call him theirs will be one lucky human. He’s ready to find his safe place, his best friend, and his forever family. Could that be you? I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.
