Story
Hi, I'm Buddy! I am an 11 month old Mini Aussiedoodle on the hunt for my forever home.  I may be a bit shy when we first meet, but give me a moment and I'll be your loyal friend. I'm young, full of life and just need a bit of patience. I promise, I'm worth it. I love to play, but I also enjoy quiet moments. I'm not just looking for a home, I'm looking for a family, someone to share my love with. I promise to bring joy and happiness to your life. Will you be my forever friend? Adopting me means giving a second chance to a dog who's eager to love. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2078498##

Story
Meet K’La, a 2-year-old sweetheart who has been in foster care for over a year and a half. While K’La may have some trust issues when initially meeting new people (we can only imagine what this sweet girl experienced in her first six months of life), she blossoms into the queen of snuggles and cuddles once she feels safe. K’La's favorite activities include playing tug o’ war with anyone who is willing (human or canine), running around the yard, wrestling with her foster pup pals, chasing her beloved mini tennis balls, de-stuffing stuffed animals, and chewing on bones. She has a playful spirit that brings joy to everyone around her, and she never misses an opportunity to engage in a fun game or romp in the yard. Despite her rough start, K’La has shown incredible resilience and a capacity for love that is truly inspiring. Her affectionate nature and gentle demeanor make her a wonderful companion for those who take the time to earn her trust. She is incredibly loyal and will form a deep bond with her forever family. K’La would thrive best in a family that has a yard, another playful and active dog to keep her company, no children, and the patience to give her the time and space she needs to earn her trust. She would also benefit from a quiet and stable environment where she can feel safe and secure. K’La is a quick learner and responds well to positive reinforcement. With consistent training and a loving environment, she will continue to grow in confidence and happiness. She’s already made great strides in her foster home and is ready to find her forever family who will cherish her for the amazing dog she is. If you have the heart and home for K’La, she’ll reward you with endless love, loyalty, and unforgettable snuggles. Adopt K’La and give her the second chance she so deserves See additional photos of K'La here.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375.  Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email  dogs@arrcolorado.org  for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Introducing Rosco, a 3-year-old Miniature Poodle/Cocker Spaniel mix who can't wait to find his people! Rosco is a happy, bouncy boy weighing in around 18 pounds. His petite body and big noggin make him irresistibly cute! Rosco is working on mastering basic commands and already has a solid "sit" down. He is also housetrained and uses the doggie door. Rosco is very manageable on a leash and is learning to stay by his handler's side. He prances along just fine on longer outings and enjoys the exercise and smells of the big, wide world.  Rosco gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, both big and small. He loves to run and play, and we're pretty sure he thinks he's one of the big dogs. He's a vocal guy and will sing you the songs of his people! He loves singing with the husky in his foster home and will let you know if anyone is approaching the homestead. Rosco loves playing with toys, treats, and cuddling up for ear scratches and belly rubs. He enjoys being near his people and always wants to be part of the action. He is thriving with leadership and structure in his foster home and will excel with an adopter who will provide the same and hold him accountable.  Rosco will need regular grooming, and luck have it, he's a great client! He is a willing participant in getting brushed, and he seems to know it'll make him look like the star that he is. Rosco is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He can't wait to meet his forever family. Could it be you? Apply today! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2084758##
