Story
Aspen is a 12-year-old Wheaten Terrier–Poodle mix (17 lbs) with a soft, low-shedding coat. I adopted him 5.5 years ago through Adopt-a-Pet.com. He was originally found as a stray in Tijuana and later adopted from the The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County. Aspen is incredibly affectionate and loves being close—he’s happiest on your lap or right beside you. He bonds deeply and is a loyal, comforting companion. He’s done well with my older kids (12 and 15). Aspen needs a calm, predictable home. He is reactive to other dogs and must be the only pet. On walks, he will react to other dogs and needs to be securely leashed and handled carefully. He also needs a consistent routine, as changes can lead to accidents. Ideal home: quiet, no pets, someone home most of the day. I’m not in a rush—finding the right fit matters most.

Story
Animal Profile: Ramen is an estimated 6 year old, 15 lb neutered male miniature poodle who was a hot mess when he was pulled from the Carson shelter. He was at risk due to overcrowding at the shelter but assessed to be friendly with people and dogs. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Ramen is a cool little cup of noodles! He has been a quick study in foster care and is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash. He loves to work and train and is very smart. He was recently introduced to odor detection work and his trainer said he was a natural. He catches on to new commands quickly and would love someone to work with. Ramen would do best in an adult only household. He sometimes takes time to warm up to strangers and he is more trusting of female companions. He has shown a tendency to resource guard when it comes to removing high value toys from his possession, but his trainer is working on tackling that behavior. Ramen is dog friendly, and would be best matched with a similar sized female dog his age. Ramen has had a lot of interest from families wanting a lap dog; he prefers to show affection through play and is not a couch potato. Ramen needs an experienced owner who comfortable addressing his guarding behaviors, willing to continue exercising his body and his mind, and able to commit to regular grooming. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. Ramen's adoption also includes take home training and support from Nirvana K9 Training. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.   Apply online at  www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Ramen was surrendered to Carson city shelter and transported to Dog Gone Seattle via Wiggle Butts arriving to foster care on 5/19/24; he is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. April 27, 2026, 1:57 am

Story
HandiSnacks is a 1 year old miniature Poodle. He’s very timid and not very trusting of people yet. He’s curious about the outdoors and all that he smells and he loves running laps in the yard. He seems to enjoy ‘freedom!’ more than anything. He’s curious about other animals, both cats and dogs and has been respectful to both. He’d do well with a calm confident dog friend to show him the ropes. He’ll definitely learn more confidence with affection and a feeling of safety in his environment. He’s incredibly resilient and docile, but still has a lot of fear and it will take a special person and lot of patience to build trust. Or he may come out of his shell once he gets a lot of cuddles and figures out that he is safe. Either way he’ll make a great companion. He has been sleeping in a crate. He is just beginning with potty training. He is leery of going potty outside or while he’s on the leash. He needs help learning to walk on a leash, too. He’s super interested in other dogs, but calm and apprehensive about it as with everything. He seems curious and ready to learn. He is good with dogs and cats and doesn’t mind riding in the car. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.
