Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay which is Zelle, PayPal, or cash. Our ever so dedicated rescuers & who never ever stop fighting for these beloved beautiful souls told us about the beautiful Becky who ended up on in the brutal police pound where it is an absolutely horrific death for these babies. Becky she of been a result of covid being dumped or just not wanted anymore, who knows? How she ended up there we will never know, but what we do know is her death would of been a extremely cruel death but thankfully she was rescued by our wonderful rescuers before anything further could happen to her. The length of time she endured on the streets we can’t even imagine what she went through nor experienced. Thankfully one of the truly dedicated Chinese rescues who are outstanding rescuers rescued the beautiful Becky. This poor girl was so dirty, smelly, filthy & a emaciated & matted mess & that she is unrecognizable to the dog you see today. They took Becky & Hana to their facility & looked after Becky & we could not wait to change her future but covid had hit & the waiting began. Becky was taken to the vets to get her well & healthy. This became a very expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as Becky & her friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Our very sweet Becky is now looking for that very magical forever home. Becky was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Becky was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Becky’s foster mum said she is another sweetheart & she & Hana follow her everywhere she goes & is so loyal, what another beauty she is, inside & out. But she is a lot more reserved & a bit more shyer but adores playing. It’s so stinking cute to see these pair laying with each other. We all love her so much to. She is also so easy to love & adore. She is so very patient & enjoys being with people along with dogs. She also enjoys a good treat now she knows what they are & she takes treats like a little lady. She has put on weight instantly since being in the rescue & has adjusted so well to being in the US. She still would need to put on more weight. Becky has done well walking on a harness & leash & done so well with us so far but would still need continued work. Becky is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Becky adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, cleaning her ears & grooming her, she loves being touched in general. She jumps at you when she wants or knows you are going to pick her up & she so enjoys being loved when you pick her up. Becky did really well with being bathed considering we don’t know how many times she has been bathed in the short time she has been on this earth. We have had her with many breeds of dogs & in her foster home she was fostered with Hana & they love each other so much & would play & play. She has done well with different size dogs & adores dogs & running & playing with them so that’s why she needs other dog friends in her new home. She is also still learning her puppy manners. We would like both these girls to stay together as they truly love each other. We have had Becky with both men & woman & she adores both. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Becky & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. She is making up for lost time & who could blame her. She adores sleeping in the bed with her foster mum so in forever home she needs a home where she can sleep with her family. Becky has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. She is such a sweetheart of a little lady. She is so good in the car & enjoys a good journey. When we first got her in the US & drove her, she also slept & slept & it appears was making up for lost time. With Becky we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely sweetheart only because of her past. We are also looking for a forever home for Becky where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Becky is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. Becky has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & in her foster home she is with other dogs & loves playing & snuggling with the dogs & enjoys their company so we are only looking for a home where she can be with another young dog or other playful dogs in the home. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Becky’s new forever home. Becky is a female, roughly 13 months old & possibly a poodle havanese mix, what she is mixed with we are not sure. She is now roughly 16.2 lbs & has put on quite a bit of weight since coming to the US & being with us in the rescue. Becky is spayed & female, she had a dental/scale & polish along with dental x-rays. She is heart worm negative, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, had her shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed twice. We have spent far more on Becky with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs, alone bringing her through cargo, without anything else then on top of that paying for her medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish & x-rays, spay, shots, medication for a uti, microchip etc, than her adoption fee comes close to covering. Becky has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats. But it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Becky was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & we do not know Becky’s exact birthday. But it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Becky’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Becky potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Becky & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Webex due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Becky who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet girl. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Becky has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Jam ien is now roughly 14.6 lbs & has put on quite a bit of weight since coming to the US with us, he is 2 years old & perhaps a miniture poodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is neutered & male, he had a dental/scale & polish along with dental x-rays & 1 premolar extraction. He is heart worm negative, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, had his shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Jam ien with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare costs, alone bringing him through cargo, without anything else then on top of that paying for his medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish & dental x-rays, 1 premolar extraction, neuter, shots, microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. Jam ien has been around cats since being in the rescue & does well but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend children nor cats, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Jam ien was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Jam ien’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Jam ien potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Jam ien & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. We will only be accepting applications for Jam ien who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet little man. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Jam ien has an adoption fee of $995 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

He is so very sweet, gentle, kind, soft natured & loving & just wants to be loved, that being said, Sarah ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly in China. Oh the sheer horror & evil. What we do know is, he was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation he ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Sarah & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Sarah out, his fate was a torturous death. She transferred Sarah to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with Sarah & many other sweet souls she got well & they waited to come to the US. This is a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as Sarah & his friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now Sarah is looking for a special family to cherish him & be patient with him & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all his needs. Sarah was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Sarah was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. This beautiful little soul has seen so much & experienced so much in his life on this time on earth. His beautiful eyes just look at you with such kindness & relief knowing he is safe. Another sweetheart who just wants to be loved. His foster mum said he might be shy with some people at first until he knows & trusts them but he wants to be somebody’s everything. Soul destroying to think about where beautiful Sarah ended up, it’s just not right this will never ever be alright. Sarah’s foster mum said he is such a smart fellow, he worked out instantly how to run up & down the hardwood stairs in their home. Sarah is obsessed with food as he is making up for lost time. He is still skinny but adores eating as his foster mum also makes home cooked food for him. He is extremely motivated by food & treats. He loves a good treat & always wants them to keep coming. He has put on weight instantly since being in the rescue. Did we mention he enjoys a good outfit, yes he does. Sarah was adopted for several days but was returned because his mum was starting to get asthma around him. This poor boy cannot catch a break. He was adopted again for several months then returned. We were told that Sarah had now developed separation anxiety in his new home & would bark & cry when he was left home alone. We were also told that he was rejected from 2 doggy daycares & that a trainer & behavioralist said the only solution was to drug him. Mind you, he never had this with us. So we put him back into our daycare & he had no problems with anxiety at all & went about his day as if he never ever left. We received updates saying Sarah greeted them as if he had always been there & went back to being social with the other dogs & enjoying their company & was the perfect little guy. So we are not sure what was going on there. Sarah is so sweet & so very loving & easy his foster mum said. He is one of the sweetest boys who just wants you to love him. Sarah is learning to walk on his harness & leash & he would still need continued work, walking on a harness & leash is all new to he but is learning & doing well. Sarah is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Sarah adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Sarah is so good with being bathed. We have had him with many breeds of dogs & he has done well with different size dogs & adores dogs but also enjoys his alone time to & doing his own thing. Sarah’s foster mum said his new family would have to be very careful when opening doors as he will want to follow them & go with them where they go. He adores his foster mum & dad. He also loves the company of other dogs, he enjoys sleeping with them & laying on them during the day when he is not following his foster mum around. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Sarah & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He is making up for lost time & who could blame him. Sarah will want to sleep in bed with you. In his foster home he sleeps really close to his foster mum & easily jumps on the bed to go to sleep. He needs a home who will let him sleep with them. He knows when it’s the last potty time in his foster home & when it’s time to go to bed. Sarah has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride & he will try & sit in your lap just to be close with you so we recommend his new forever home have a doggy car seat for him. He is such a good boy. He just sits back & enjoys the journey once he knows he is he is safe. With Sarah we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. We are also looking for a forever home for Sarah where someone is home during the day or he can go with her people wherever possibly he can go with them. We do not want him left alone all day by himself. Sarah is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. Sarah has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company so we are only looking for a home where he can be with another dog or dogs only. We currently have him with other dogs in his loving foster home & he has thrived being with other dogs & built his confidence. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs roughly his size or a little bigger is mandatory. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Sarah’s new forever home. We also do not want to put Sarah back into apartment living, we want him to have the ability to run around in a backyard this dog friends & not have to be walked in the city in his previous home. Sarah is now roughly 13.6 lbs & has put on quite a bit of weight since coming to the US with us, he was beyond skinny but looks good now. He is 5 years old & perhaps a poodle what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is neutered by laser by our wonderful vets, & male, he was treated for mange with antibiotics & medicated baths & fully recovered. He had a dental/scale & polish along with dental x-rays. He had his eye one day all of a sudden become blood shot & appeared right have burst a blood vessel in his eye. We took him to our vets & he received a schirmer tear test, a flurosceine eye test & received eye meds for his eye. Our vet suspected possibly old injury but it has been healing lovely. He is heart worm negative, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, had his shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies, treated with credelio & dewormed. We have spent far more on Sarah with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare costs, alone bringing him through cargo, without anything else then on top of that paying for his medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish & x-rays, neuter by laser, treated for mange, medicated baths, shots, microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. We were not there when Sarah was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Sarah friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Sarah potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. How people do the things they do to these babies is unimaginable. The beautiful Luna was found as a stray on the brutal streets of Korea & ended up in a kill shelter in Gimje Korea. Surviving the Korean streets is a miracle in itself. Unfortunately the Korean rescue was full so Luna had to stay at the shelter until they were able to make space in the rescue by finding homes for some of the dogs. She ended up getting a cherry eye while waiting. Thankfully the outstanding Korean rescue, rescued Luna before she was about to lose her precious life & put her into their rescue. Her cherry eye was then taken care of while in the rescue. No one wanted the beautiful Luna & we were asked could we help her, & it was our pleasure & joy to bring Luna into our rescue to find her, that family who won’t let her down. Luna was rescued by the amazing Korean rescue & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies & there is also such a great financial responsibility when rescuing these babies so we cannot begin to thank them enough. Luna was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. The stunning Luna has had people let her down & now she knows what it’s like to be loved. Luna loves everyone she meets, she is so very forgiving. She is slow to warm up to new people, but who could blame her. Then once she has built that trust with you, you become her world, her everything. She will get on her back for you to rub her sweet little belly. This girl does not have a mean bone in her body. What we do know is, she loves to eat & adores a good outfit & when it’s time for bed she likes to snuggle up with you in the bed. She absolutely wants to sleep in bed with you. In the rescue in Korea she slept in bed with them. So you had better make room in your bed for Luna. Luna likes other dogs & gets along well with all breeds of dogs. She could even go to a forever home where she is the only dog & be treated like the queen that she is. In her new forever home she must have a fully fenced backyard. Luna loves to be held & picked up & hugged, one of her favorite things, again once that trust is built. Luna rides well in the car, considering she has only gone in the car a few times. She has been learning to walk on her harness & leash but would still need continued work. She is also good at being bathed but can be a bit wiggly. Because we truly don’t know how many times in her life she had experienced a bath prior. We are & only looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. She wanted out of the crate after the flight. Luna as you can imagine spent such a long time in the shelter in a caged environment. It was so absolutely sad seeing where she came from & how she looked originally. She has been shaved down because of the mats she had when found in Korea. She is usually quite a fluffy girl. We are also looking for a forever home for Luna where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Luna is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her again. Luna has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. Luna is roughly 15 lbs, she is 3 years old, Luna is possibly a poodle terrier mix, what she is mixed with we are not sure, she is female, she is spayed. She had a dental/scale & polish along with dental x-rays & had an extraction with a minor molar. We also had a little mass near her nipple biopsied & removed & it can back negative. She is microchipped, heartworm negative, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Luna with bringing her to the US with her travel costs, her medical care, boarding fees, etc & bringing her to WA than her adoption fee comes close to covering.
