Story
Hello, my name is Hardy, but my fosters call me Tom Hardy because I'm the perfect boy in every role I play! My dream is to snuggle in your lap or ride in your puppy bag all day, every day. Since I don't wiggle or weigh much, you'll love having me close by. When we're not snuggling, I find a cozy spot to hang out in, so I'm never underfoot and you can get all your chores done.
I'm over all that silly puppy stuff-I won't trip you, chew on things, or whine. Plus, I'm potty trained and love exploring outside and learning all the best things about being a dog. On a leash, my eyes are always on you, and I never pull. I'm curious about bigger dogs and children but never pushy. Even though I'm small, I'm sturdy enough to go anywhere with you, either in a bag or under your arm, and I'll be overjoyed and peaceful the whole time.
I have not one, but two incredible smiles to greet you with, along with almond-shaped eyes, a heart-shaped nose, and a little round head. When I look up at you, my ears flop out and back-irresistible, right? I'm ready to find my forever person and bring comfort and peaceful love for years to come.
Pro tip: Give me cheek scratches, and I'm yours forever! I'm good with other dogs and children, though I can be a little nervous around men at first. I sit well in the car and walk nicely on a leash. I sleep either with my foster family or under the bed and haven't had any accidents after the first two days. I do bark if another dog tries to take my rawhide treats, but I'm happy to share my food bowl.
I really want to be a single dog with my very own person to bond with. I'm especially cuddly with women but need a bit more time to feel safe with men. I'd do great with an older person or someone with disabilities because I just want to be held, don't stay underfoot, and never pull. I've been learning a lot about the world and have thrived with stairs and the leash. Sometimes I cower when you bend down to pick me up, but I promise I'm a very good boy ready to find my forever home!
*Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results.
We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website.
We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dog's appearance to go on.
Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
