Story
Meet Sparrow! She came in and was very scared at first, but a wonderful foster took her home and she's thriving! Sparrow is a little poodle/schnauzer mix around 10 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. She is learning all sorts of fun things like walks in a grassy yard, smelling flowers, baths and belly rubs. She is non-shedding. She loves to be brushed and sleeps great in her kennel all night. She loves snuggling on the couch with her people, tug o' war, and fetching her stuffed bear are her new hobbies. She's house trained and loves to follow her person around. She walks great on leash and does well with kids she meets around the neighborhood.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.February 22, 2024, 4:42 am

Story
Animal Profile: Walter is an approximately 1-year-old ~16lb male poodle mix who was rescued from a high kill shelter in San Bernardino. He was kenneled with other dogs and friendly with people at the shelter. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update:  Walter is a super cute energetic dude! He LOVES toys - all the toys- and will empty the basket or just climb in to play! He is a good little walker and does well on leash. Walter is potty trained and working on his  crate training. He will sleep in his crate at night without issue but can be a bit whiny during the day or when left alone, so this is still a work in progress. Walter doesn’t appreciate dogs in his face so a calm, neutral canine companion might be ok for him, but he will likely be easier as an only dog. He is a little too curious about the cat in his foster home, so any feline siblings will need to be dog-savvy and able to set boundaries with him.  Adoption Info:  Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to the San Bernardino City shelter on Jan 26 and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle arriving to foster care on Feb 4, 2024. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.February 22, 2024, 2:07 am

Story
Gismo is a 2-year-old Poodle male about 15 lb. He's pretty good with other dogs and is being fostered in a home. His previous home was unable to keep him. He's can be vocal and high-strung. He's very cuddly and cute once he gets to know you. He can be wary of new people and new situations so taking it slow when you first meet him is crucial. He does fine in a crate. Gismo would do best with a single owner. He does fine with other dogs. No kids for Gismo, as he can bite when he's frightened or feels cornered. Gismo needs a family with a lot of rescue experience for him to overcome his behavioral issues. Gismo is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His fee is $500.

Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 17 lives of mums, dads & puppies including Goldie & her siblings & her brother Oreo who she is fostered with. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Goldie how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Goldie & her friends & brother were bought back to the WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. What a beautiful little bundle of fluff, joy & happiness plus a whole lot of wiggles when you pick her up. This little lady is now loving life in her foster home. She now knows what toys are & loves playing with her toys & her freedom. She plays non stop with her gorgeous little brother & they love each other dearly. She also gets to be loved by 2 little girls who adore Goldie & her brother so much. She is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little miss. She really enjoys snuggling with you & we know she adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. She adores being kissed & hugged by his foster family & being a free spirit doing her own thing. She can be very wiggly though when picked up so this needs to be taken into account. The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside. Goldie is a wonderful eater. She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. She currently sleeps with her brother as they are fostered together. She is such a very innocent puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She is good with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. She is a puppy & we have not taken her out anywhere. She still needs to learn his puppy manners. Goldie rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us & her loving foster home. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Goldie as you can imagine spent the first part of her life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Goldie where someone is home during the day or she can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Goldie is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Goldie has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with her sibling in her foster home. She will be found snuggled up with her foster siblings. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for him to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Goldie is roughly 3.5 lbs & he is roughly 9 weeks old & ‭a miniture poodle‬. She has put on weight since being in the rescue. What she is mixed with we are not sure. We treated her for coccidia & giradia as we do with all puppies. Female, she will be spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHPP, bordatella & dewormed & will be spayed by laser by ASTR by 6 months only & will continue to get her remaining shots including her DHPP, leptospirosis & rabies. We have spent far more on Goldie with paying for her from a commercial breeder. Bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Goldie has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had her around small children & she adores them but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Goldie was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Goldie’s friends & siblings she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Goldie potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Goldie & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Goldie who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Goldie. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Goldie has an adoption fee of $1650 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Jay & his friends & sister were bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Jay is a lovely soul but needs to build that trust with you to make sure you are not going to do anything to him. He is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little chap once he feels comfortable with you. We know he adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on once you have built that rapport. We think the breeder could have been rough with him or he just did not like what he seen. He adores being kissed & hugged by his foster mum who does this to him countless times a day. He will run up to her & sit next to her so she can pick him up. He is still a baby & building that confidence in himself. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside.
