Story
Introducing, Missy! Missy is 8 years old and 65 lbs. This sweet girl was surrendered to a rural animal shelter because her owners had too many dogs. We don't know what Missy's life was like before, but she definitely had many litters of puppies. Missy is currently living her best life in a wonderful foster home. She can be shy at first, but given a few days, her lovely personality will start to show. She has done well with other dogs (slow introductions are always suggested) and loves to run and play. Missy is housebroken, trustworthy when left home alone and great in the car. Interested in learning more about Missy? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt *Missy spayed, up to date on vaccines, was given monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

Story
Meet BEANIE! Beanie is a gorgeous, 9 month old, 47 pound male brindle Plott Hound mix -- his tiger pattern and earnest gaze are hard to resist. This sweetie just had his freedom ride after spending two months at an overcapacity rural NC shelter. He is very sweet, lovable, and just wants to hang out/get attention from his humans! At about 9 months old, Beanie has puppy playfulness and is excited to meet people (of all ages) and dogs, but also nuzzles up to you for head rubs or belly rubs, and gently leans in for more. He loves playing with his toys and will cuddle with you during quiet times. Beanie is smart and already knows sit for a treat, but, as with any young dog, he will need to continue with some basic training so this young dog can become the well-behaved dog he can be. Beanie ended up at a rural North Carolina shelter, and we can only imagine how he wondered why his family did not come find him and take him home. After two months at the overcapacity shelter, he was in danger and the shelter rescue coordinator asked if we could bring this extremely sweet dog into PetConnect to save him. He is so happy that PetConnect has come to his rescue and brought him to the DC area to find a forever family that will give him the attention that he deserves and never abandon him to such a scary place as a kill-shelter ever again. Beanie would love to curl up with you to hang out on a cool fall night! He would be an excellent new member of the family! ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ) , spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Beanie is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Story
A Bonded Pair Looking for a Home Together! Piper and Cooper have spent their whole lives side by side, loved dearly by their elderly owner. Sadly, their person had to move into assisted living where dogs aren’t allowed, and now these two best friends are searching for a new forever home — together. We would love to keep them as a pair so they don’t lose each other after already losing their owner. They truly are a team and bring comfort and joy to one another. The ideal home for Piper and Cooper would be one with a large fenced yard to explore, and people who enjoy daily walks and adventures with their pups. If you’re looking to add not just one, but two amazing companions to your family, Piper and Cooper would be so grateful for the chance to stay together. Message us today if you’d like to meet this sweet bonded duo! PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. Story
Woolsey had a very sad life and after his owner died tragically he was left alone in the house and his tail was stuck and he likely could not free himself for days. He was also so thin when we rescued him.The vet explained that most of his tail could not be repaired so they had to amputate most of it. Woolsey is a strikingly beautiful dog. He walks well on a leash and is calm. He loves to play with other dogs. He is very clean in his kennel so we believe he is house trained. Please let us know if you would like to meet this really good boy! Questions About this Animal? Please email hart90office@gmail.com View My Profile: https://new.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/HRT-A-719

Story
Meet Annie: the Social Butterfly in a Brindle Coat 🐾✨ At 5.5 years old and 55 pounds of pure huggable perfection, Annie is basically the hostess of every party she’s ever been to (and yes, she considers your living room a party). She’s a Plott Hound mix with a coat so stunning it deserves its own Instagram filter. Annie is a pro-level cuddler and firmly believes personal space is a myth invented by people who don’t know what they’re missing. She’s been thriving in her foster home, which is basically Grand Central Station, kids, guests, deliveries, you name it, and she’s loved every second of it. She’s polite on walks, excellent with people of all sizes, and will happily supervise your daily activities to ensure you’re doing them “right.” Whether your home is buzzing with life or you just want a gorgeous, snuggly sidekick, Annie’s ready to clock in. Adopt her and watch your “me time” become “we time”... forever. ❤️ Questions About this Animal? Please email hart90office@gmail.com View My Profile: https://new.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/HRT-A-239

Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young girl ready to play! CAMRYN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Camryn and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (11/16) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, VA (6100 - A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!   Name:  Camryn         Best Guess for Breed:  Plott hound and boxer mix   Best Guess for Age:  10 months as of November 2025        SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  40 lbs as of 11/2/25 - she likely has a bit more to grow!   Gets Along With:  Camryn has lived with dogs and cats in foster care! We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations: Camryn is shy and needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes.   Camryn is Looking For:   Romps in parks and world exploration by her new humans' side! This pretty girl is eager to burn off all that young-dog energy and make pup and people pals along the way. To get there, she needs extra patient and loving adopters who understand she hasn't seen enough of the world yet and needs a little more support to become comfortable in new environments. A friendly resident dog will show her how to dog too! Most of all, she wants to know where her home is, to know she's safe and loved for all her days. In exchange, she promises happy tail wags and loyal companionship and adoring gazes. What do you say? Does that sound like a fair trade to you? What My Foster Says About Me:   Camryn is a gentle, loving girl who’s blossoming more each day. She’s a sweet and sensitive pup who’s quickly learning that home life can be full of fun and comfort. She loves soft toys, playing tug, and curling up on the couch for snuggles. Camryn has also been great with other animals—she’s friendly with the resident cat and has started to enjoy playtime with her foster’s puppy. Inside, she’s doing wonderfully—no accidents and even sleeping quietly through the night in her crate. She’s food-motivated, which makes her a quick learner, and she’s already starting to explore the house with curiosity and confidence. Camryn is still gaining confidence in the great outdoors, but with time, patience, and continued positive experiences, she’ll thrive. She’s a wonderful mix of sweetness and bravery and will make a loving companion for someone ready to show her the world at her own pace. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
