Meet Gene Simmons, a pug born approx 4/15/22. Gene is a sweet dog and well behaved. He is mostly calm and rarely  barks but does reverse sneeze from time to time.  He has only been put in his kennel once while we've had him, and  he went in no problem, although he did whine and fuss when we left. He likes to chew on things but can be directed to just chew on his chew toys.  He is well behaved on walks. If we pass by a person, he ignores them. If  we pass by another dog, he is curious but does not get excited or aggressive. He has not been around kids or cats.  He does not seem to know any commands, but is learning "sit" and "come". He is also doing well on his potty training.   He loves to be scratched. He cannot wait to find his forever family!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. GOLIAD is a 1-yr old Pug mix...probably mixed with Pekingese. 15#. He is a scream...so happy, so much fun. He gets along with all the dogs. He does pester my cats sometimes...not wanting to kill...but they're so much fun to chase. My cats are not afraid of dogs and on occasion I have found Goliad literally playing with the cat and the cat was having fun. GOLIAD is housetrained and loves to go outside. He's not a woose. He barks some but not yappy. He loves toys especially if they squeak. He doesn't know how to play tug-of-war, though, but can learn. This is a great little dog. [Where did he get his name? Goliad (Go-le-ad) is a famous city south of San Antonio in Texas where an important battle was fought during the siege on the Alamo.] This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. She is looking for an active mixed breed dog experienced family with a securely fenced yard. She will do best with another dog companion or an active family. She likes dogs his size, dog beds, laps, bones (to chew on), couches and toys. She will do best in an active home with children over 10 years of age. She is crate trained, loves car rides, walks and dog training. Not sure on exact adult size, but guessing no larger than a medium sized dog as parents are 25 lbs. No apartments please.
