Story
Belle is a 9 year old pug. We've had her since she was several months old. She loves to snuggle and likes falling asleep on blankets. She enjoys sunbathing, treats, and belly rubs. Belle does bark but usually it's just for attention. She is house trained and up to date on her shots. She is due for her rabies shot in Nov. 2024. Unfortunately she is afraid of our infant and no longer seems happy in our home. We are hoping to find a new loving family for her.

Story
Midge is the most snaggle-toothed pup we've ever seen! She was rescued from a shelter in Texas a year ago and is still waiting to find her forever home - Midge is about 9 years old and weighs 13 pounds. Midge is a laid-back girl who just wants to follow you around everywhere – she loves the company of her family! She is well behaved in the car and she really loves her daily walks. She is currently living with 2 other dogs and has no problem keeping up with them even though they are half her age! Midge listens well and, being food driven, is easily trained. Midge is housetrained, however, she may need a puppy pad if left alone for 8 hours. When she is left home alone, she has the freedom to roam the place – she does not like being crated and doesn’t need to be. Midge sleeps on her own through the night without incident but would prefer to sleep in the same room as her people. Midge has fistulas (holes) in the roof of her mouth and it is possible for her occasionally to get food stuck in her nose. But Midge usually just sneezes the food out so you don’t have to do anything about it. Only once did a vet find food in her nose when she was being examined on a routine visit. Midge came into rescue with horrible teeth - she had a number of bad teeth removed but she is still the snaggle-toothed girl we love! Midge currently requires a tiny sprinkle of medicinal powder on her food to ensure her pancreas functions properly. Although Midge gets along with dogs, she might bark when she encounters new-to-her dogs on a walk. She sounds like a goat when she barks – it is actually quite cute! If you'd like to meet Midge and provide her with a loving retirement home, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for MIDGE TX!September 12, 2024, 12:33 pm

These adorable pug mixes have been through so much in life, and while not all of it has been kind, they are still so sweet, loving, and ready to find happiness in their new forever homes! As precious as a pearl, that’s this little girl! Meet Pearl, a small Pug mix with a big heart. She is fully grown at just under 10 pounds and has the most adorable fawn coat and black and grey face. Her big, bright eyes are so full of love, but she is still learning to feel safe after being rescued from an awful hoarding situation. She was rescued by HFGDR from a terrible home, and because of that, she is still working on her confidence and trust now that she is safe. Sweet Pearl does well with other small dogs, cats, and children who can be respectful of her space as she adjusts to her new home. This girl needs so much love and care, and she is so hopeful to find a forever family who will give her the goodness she deserves and show her that her life is worthy of so much happiness. Will you be the one to show Pearl the world? Pearl is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. Story
It’s almost Oktoberfest, so grab a frothy beverage and bring your new best friend to celebrate. Meet Schnitzel, the cutest little 4-year-old Pug mix who goes great with a side of sauerkraut, potatoes, and a heaping scoop of love. This little 13-pound fella is quite the sweetheart and has overcome so much in life. Schnitzel was rescued from a scary hoarding situation in Marion County, South Carolina, where he and several of his companions were being mistreated and living in squaller. Thankfully, Home for Good stepped in, and they’ve known only love and safety since their arrival. Schnitzel is growing more confident each day, especially with the help and love of trusted humans and his doggy friends. Schnitzel loves others dogs and feels happiest around them, so a home with another dog would be ideal for him. Schnitzel really enjoys getting attention, and with a face as cute as his, it’s quite easy to give to him. He likes to play and interact with humans as he grows more comfortable with them, and he is likely to become quite the snuggler once he’s found his forever home. Schnitzel is working diligently on his leash training and getting better by the day. He would be so happy in a home with other dogs, cats, and children who can be respectful of his space as he adjusts. Schnitzel is ready to fill his stein with the crispest water he can find and join you for all your autumnal celebrations. Won’t you come meet this little guy and give him the big, beautiful life he deserves? Schnitzel is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. Story
The best pizza topping AND the best little friend you could ever have? That’s right, it’s Pepperoni! Meet the cutest 3-year-old Pug mix who is ready to be the meat to your cheese for every pizza night! Pepperoni is 15 pounds of cuteness. Pepperoni had a rough start in life, spending most of it in a very scary hoarding situation in Marion County, South Carolina. Now that he is in the safety of Home for Good, he is embracing the goodness in life while he patiently waits to find his forever home. Pepperoni is working on being less shy, and once he is comfortable around his humans, he loves to soak up all the affection and cuddles he can get. He adores snuggles and will happily join you for them. He also really loves his doggy friends and feels most comfortable around his companions. He would love to go to a home with another canine companion who he can feel most comfortable with. Pepperoni is working hard on his leash skills, though he does like to stop and explore the world around him. Life is new and exciting for this little guy after a lot of time in a scary situation, and he would love to go to a loving home where he can experience all the best things in life and only know love and happiness from now on. It’s time to call the pizzeria and order up a fresh pie. The best slice of Pepperoni is ready for delivery! Pepperoni is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application.
