WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Since discovering shes safe, she hasnt wanted to leave her fosters company and is happiest simply being part of whatever youre doing. She would do well in a calm, patient home that understands shes still coming out of her shell. She isnt bothered by other dogs and is perfectly content to coexist with them, even if she isnt ready to play just yet. She tends to stay a bit reserved around canine friends for now, but with time and gentle encouragement, shell likely grow more comfortable. A household that can give her the space and support to continue building confidence would be a great match.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Rosemary spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her 'breeders' decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her, giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now shes ready to start that new chapter!Personality: Rosemary is an affectionate, loyal companion who would do best with someone who appreciates a loving shadow and is ready for a devoted cuddle buddy. Shes just beginning her leash journey; while she hasnt gone on full walks yet, she practices on-leash in the backyard and does well, even if sudden noises still make her a little nervous. Shes adjusting to her new environment at her own pace.
