Story
Meet Diva!
Diva is a 4 year old, 26 pound Puggle; her name may be Diva but she is the most gentle pup a person could find!
Diva has been through a lot in her few years, but she is learning to trust again with the help of patience, love, and positive reinforcement. In the time she has been with her foster family, she has started opening up and has made wonderful progress on her journey to feeling like a regular ol' pup again!
Diva is very loving, curious, and crate trained. She's a wonderful addition to her foster family, as she enjoys sitting back and relaxing in her crate while they work from home. Diva has had challenges in life that many may find hard to believe but she is capable of becoming a wonderful companion for an adopter who is willing to offer her the patience and love she deserves.
Since coming to stay with her foster family, Diva has started to show her true colors. She has started exploring the home, and really enjoys napping on the couch with friends and family. She is still learning how to 'play', but she enjoys the company of her foster siblings and would do really well in a home with other pets or with lots of family members as she prefers to have company.
She is a pro at using her potty pad and goes to the same one on schedule every day, though she will need patience with leash training as going on walks will be a whole new world for her. She is generally very quiet, but can experience separation anxiety when she is alone for extended periods of time and will let you know with some beautiful baying- her beagle traits come out in funny ways!
Some of Diva's favorite things include peanut butter treats, scratches under her chin, and the stuffed duck she sleeps with every night. The only thing "Diva" about her is she loves to sleep with multiple soft fluffy blankets at night!
If you're looking for a companion who enjoys the quiet life, Diva may be the perfect match for you! She must take after her Pug half, as she loves to sleep and enjoy lazy days.
Diva is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY. Her adoption fee is $600.
Diva is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
