She warms up to new people fast, is very dog friendly and has made friends with every dog she’s met. Her energy level is medium, she enjoys cuddling and a good nap but has the occasional zoomies. She loves going for walks and exploring outside but the key to her heart is a good meal as she loves food. A total sweet heart who enjoys attention and is looking for a home where she can get all the love and affection she deserves! Lily was surrendered to NorthStar when her owner became ill and could no longer care for her dogs. Although she is almost 9 years old, Lily is in good health, energetic and house-trained. She is a good listener who loves long walks and car rides. She is currently up to date on her shots, but is due for several vaccines in May - we'll ensure she receives those. Lily has lived with another dog (Lucy Nason, also available for adoption) and is currently in temporary foster with a Lab and Golden Retriever. On walks she may bark at other dogs out of curiosity - she's not aggressive, just loud. Lily is crate trained and enjoys spending time in her individual crate even when given free roam of the house. Overall, she is a very sweet senior girl just looking for a new place to hang her leash! Look at this little face. Lily is as sweet as she is cute. She's about 2 years old and found her world turned upside down when her owner passed away, leaving behind 7 dogs. Family and friends took in 4 of the 7, and Lily and 2 others came into our rescue. Understandably confused, it took a few days for Lily to warm up. She bonds easily, is house trained, and a joy to be around. She can be a little mouthy when she gets excited and as such we will only consider homes with older children. Lily is getting spayed on 4/9. She'll be brought current on core vaccines and microchipped. We would love to find a home for Lily where someone is home more often. A fenced yard is required. • Rescue Story: Meet Moana👋🏻 She was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea in 2022. She ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Since then, she’s been living in a private shelter with many other dogs, charming everyone with her affectionate personality. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family of her own! • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Goofy Moana is truly one of a kind. She quickly won the hearts of volunteers with her gentle, loving nature. She follows people around like a little shadow, happily greeting everyone—even strangers—with tail wags and affection. Moana thrives on human interaction and loves tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being the center of attention. Her energy level is moderate, making her a great balance of playful and calm. • Affinity with - Dogs: Moana is incredibly social—not just with people, but with dogs, too. She’s often the first to welcome new arrivals at the shelter, helping them feel safe and at ease. While she would thrive as the only dog in the home, Moana also does best with calm dog companions. - Cats: Not tested with cats - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but based on her gentle demeanor, we believe she’d do well with respectful children. • Walking Manners: Moana has also started practicing her leash skills and is doing great! She may pull a little at times, but overall, she walks well and is eager to please. • Housetrained: As she’s lived in a shelter, Moana will need some house-training in a home setting. • Bathing/Brushing: She’s tolerant of baths and grooming. • Car Sickness: She’s curious and alert during car rides, taking in the world around her. • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Very quiet • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 5 • Likes/Dislikes: She loves affection & treats! • Health: Moana finished her heartworm treatment in Oct 2024 and is in great health. She underwent successful surgery for an inguinal hernia in Mar 2025 and has fully recovered. She has a clean bill of health and is ready for her new adventure!
