Story

Chicklet is a 2-4-year-old, 22-pound female pug mix from Texas! She is a loving, happy and curious pup. She has adjusted very well during her time in Brooklyn. Chicklet enjoys snuggling, going on long walks, and taking naps. Chicklet is working on her obedience training and learning “Sit”. During her time with her foster family, she sems to be house trained and used to the company of other humans and dogs. Chicklet is great on a leash and is very easy to walk around the city. She’s fine with cars, people and dogs and will try to smell everything she can lay her cute little nose on. Her forever family will need to continue working with Chicklet to reinforce and advance the progress she’s been making in her training. Chicklet has done well in her crate during the night and has been hanging around the apartment during the day. She does experience a little bit of separation anxiety at night but ends up falling asleep pretty quickly. She has only been left alone for very short periods of time during the day but did great each time. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with her favorite avocado toast toy. Chicklet is looking for a loving family. She appreciates both downtime and active moments. She would be happy either with another dog or just with humans. She hasn’t been exposed to cats yet, but she seems like she does fine around anything- her only scare so far has been a roomba. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Chicklet tested positive for ehrlichia and was treated with 21 days of doxycycline. I am 18 months old, 16 lbs, and I was living with my homeless owner when he decided to sell me to the nice lady who is now fostering me for 4 Little Paws Rescue. What a relief because now I’m living indoors, being very well cared for, vaccinated, and neutered, and I’m officially ready to be adopted! My foster mom says I’m a sweetheart, happy and playful with gobs of energy for running zoomies and playing with all my new doggy friends. You can see it’s no secret that I’m loving life, I’m always wagging and listening very intently when my foster mom talks to me. One ear up and one ear down, like little antennas tuning in for the best frequency. I’m very affectionate and love to share kisses. Hi, I’m Miley and I’m ready to meet you. I’m a pretty Pug mix about 5 months old, 21 lbs and I used to belong to a homeless man. We roamed around San Antonio Texas and lived in a tent on the outskirts of town and one day my foster mom asked if she could buy me and he agreed! Now I’m livin’ the dream with indoor living, air conditioning, cozy dog beds, doggy toys, and doggy friends, I’m having a blast, except for the trip to the vet to get spayed, LOL. I am a happy and friendly girl with a medium energy level, always wagging and dreaming up something fun to do… like playtime, wrestling with my friends, chasing dog toys, or taking a nap in your lap, these are some of my favorite things. I’m very affectionate and love my people and I love to be near you. I also love going for walks and taking rides in the car, and I’m always up for any new adventure. My foster mom says I’m very sweet and a very good girl and doing great with housebreaking lessons. I’ve never been kept in a crate so I just hang out with the other dogs while my foster mom is away. Midge is the most snaggle-toothed pup we've ever met! And out of her little mouth hangs the longest tongue we've ever seen! As a result, this girl is laughable and lovable at the same time! Miss Midge is about 9 years old and weighs 17 pounds. Midge is a laid-back girl who loves being with people. She's so easygoing that she'll even let you dress her up if you find that fun. During the day, she will follow you around to see what you're up to and, if possible, curl up on a bed at your feet to keep you company. Midge is well behaved in the car and she really loves her daily walks through the neighborhood. Midge currently lives with 2 other dogs in her foster home and has no problem keeping up with them even though they are half her age! Midge listens well and, being food driven, is easily trained. She's smart, too - she knows to expect a treat when she comes inside from doing her business in the yard! Midge is housetrained, however, she may need a puppy pad if left alone for 8 hours. When she is left home alone, she has the freedom to roam the place – she does not like being crated and doesn’t need to be. Midge sleeps on her own through the night without incident but would love to sleep in the same room as her people if possible. She'll happily curl up on her own bed on the floor next to yours if you'll let her. Midge has fistulas (holes) in the roof of her mouth and (weird as it sounds) on a rare occasion may get food stuck in her nose. She usually just sneezes the food out so you don’t have to do anything about it. Midge came into rescue with horrible teeth - she had a number of teeth removed but she is still the snaggle-toothed girl we love! Midge currently requires a tiny sprinkle of medicinal powder on her food to ensure her pancreas functions properly. She eats a Blue Buffalo kibble for seniors which helps keep her pancreatitis in check. But this gal loves her food & gobbles it right down, making sure she finds every single kibble that might escape her bowl! Although Midge gets along with dogs, she might bark when she encounters new-to-her dogs on a walk. She sounds like a goat when she barks – it is actually quite cute!
