Story
Meet Shane! Shane is a 12-week-old male Cattle Dog mix with a soft white-and-cream coat and an irresistibly friendly nature. As he grows, his playful, curious personality is shining even brighter. He loves everyone he meets and is always ready to make new friends—human or canine. Shane is the perfect balance of snuggly and spirited. He’s eager for adventure, quick with the puppy zoomies, but equally happy to curl up for a cuddle. With his bright little mind and eager-to-please attitude, he’s picking up on routines beautifully. Shane thrives with gentle guidance, positive training, and plenty of opportunities to explore the world safely. This sweet boy is ready to bring joy, fun, and endless puppy kisses to his forever family! The adoption fee for this puppy is $475, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. A $250 spay/neuter deposit is required at the time of adoption. This fee covers sterilization at one of PetConnect’s preferred veterinary partners. If the adopter chooses to use their own veterinarian, the deposit will be returned with proof of sterilization. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Story
Meet MINNIE MOUSE! Sweet Minnie Mouse is about 5 years old, 25 pounds, female, black and tan rat terrier mix. She is so sweet and a friendly gal! She loves to get attention from her humans! Everyone she meets adores this sweet girl. While she is a tripod, Minnie does not let that hold her back -- she can be energetic, and loves playing in the yard and with her toys in the house! After a good romp or walk, Minnie settles down for a nice nap or just to hang out with her people. She has done well with other dogs in her foster home. Minnie has great house manners, including being housetrained. Poor Minnie has not always been properly taken care of and was found with a painful leg injury by animal control in NC. This poor girl was such a trooper and so sweet despite the pain; the shelter made an urgent plea to save her....PetConnect Rescue was able to come to her rescue, bring her to the DC area to a great foster, and give her the necessary medical care she needed, including amputation of the irreparable leg. So now Minnie has left her horrible past behind and is ready to find her new, and this time, forever home. Although she is a tripod, she has so much love and happiness to give to her new family for many years! Minnie would love to curl up in your lap to hang out on a winter evening; she loves to cuddle and get pets! Minnie is up-to-date on vaccines, preventatives, and has had bloodwork, a dental, and heartworm treatment! She is eager to find her person(s) to love! ***Please note that our first step is to fill out an application (it does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email Robin at kinstondogs@verizon.net **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Meet Moses! He's a 35 pound Jack Russell/Rat Terrier Mix and is about 6 years old. My ex-husband and I adopted him from a rescue organization about 2 years ago. I'm now in sole possesion of Moses. For a few reasons, I've made the difficult decision to rehome Moses, as I think it would be better for him and myself. Once he gets to know you, Moses is such a sweet, cuddly, protective, loyal lap dog and loves to play and burrow under blankets. He does have stranger danger though. While it will take him a little bit (shouldn't last more than a day) to warm up to someone new, once he does he will love you forever. He has a lot of energy and loves being outside. I live in the city. I think he would do best in the suburbs or somewhere rural, with a fenced in yard to run around, and less stimuli for anxiety. I think he would do well with older kids. Make Moses part of your family!

Marbles is the sweetest girl at 7 months old and ~30lbs fully grown. She knows how to have fun and loves playing with her dog buddies. Bitey face, wrestling, tug of war? She’s down for it all! Whenever she’s out in public, she is an absolute delight. Marbles will sit and calmly observe everything going on around her without a care in the world which is very rare for a puppy! Her foster mom taught her “sit” in one day and she keeps proving to be a smart pup! Marbles would be the perfect addition to any family! Story
Calling all Terrier Lovers! Meet Stewart, aka Stewie! This scruffy little character was spotted running as a stray before making his way to safety. Since arriving, Stewie has proven himself to be bright, funny, and incredibly affectionate. He’s 1–2 years old, 17 lbs, and appears to be a wire-coat Jack Russell Terrier mix. His scruffy coat and signature “poodle-hawk” tuft make him irresistibly adorable. Stewie is currently being fostered with two moms and five other dogs. He does best with playful pups and would love a young, active buddy in his new home. He’s a wonderful mix of goofy, clever, affectionate, and fun. While he can be a little shy with new people, he warms up quickly and becomes a total velcro dog, following his humans from room to room as his silly, slightly chaotic, always-lovable personality comes out. Stewie is crate-trained and almost fully potty-trained. You still need to keep an eye on him and give him consistent breaks, but he’s really getting the hang of it! His foster mom has been doing structured crate nap times, and he now settles quickly. At bedtime, he sleeps quietly in his crate, and even trots right in on his own when the treat routine starts. Good boy, Stewie! Stewart is great on leash. He stays close, doesn’t pull much, and while he can get a bit nervous with passing people or heavy traffic, he doesn’t panic. He’s already made great progress with desensitization walks and is even more confident with a dog buddy by his side. This cute, goofy boy is also an incredibly sweet and snuggly companion. He’s an active pup who loves fun and will keep you laughing, but after a good walk or some yard zoomies, he’s perfectly happy to relax on the couch or entertain himself with a toy. Stewart is ready for a family who will enjoy his spark and help him continue blossoming into the wonderful dog he’s meant to be. Apply today! BREED ESTIMATE: JRT/Poodle Mix GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  17 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~  1-2 years old COAT TYPE: Scruffy, wiry coat needs regular grooming ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neutered/microchipped LOCATION:  Herndon, VA   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application.
