Story
Mango is a 3yr 15lbs female mini rat terrier/toy fox terrier mix. She was rescued by a small rescue in Orlando Florida where I first adopted her in February 2020. She had been separated a little bit young from her mother and due that she is not well socialized and doesn’t do well with other pets and small children. After trying to train her for the past few years as well as talking with my vet, I’ve come to realize that my current living situation is not what’s best for her. She is very shy around new people and does not do well with other pets, and would do well in a home that is in a quiet neighborhood with an adopter who has a lot of time to spend with her. She does not do well with a lot of change and a lot of noise and commotion. She’s a very loving, caring dog, but she can get pretty grumpy/feisty at night and doesn’t like her nails clipped or her ears touched or her teeth brushed so she may need help from a professional with teeth cleanings, and other grooming needs.

Story
Milo is a 12 year old rat terrier mix. I adopted him in 2020 from a shelter in Madison, WI when he was 8 years old. He is playful, curious, and energetic and can always bring a smile to my face. Milo has fairly high anxiety which has worsened over the last 6 months with his eyesight and hearing deteriorating, as is expected in a senior dog. I would say I am looking for an experienced owner with lots of patience for Milo, because he is ultimately a very sweet and lovable dog, but needs extra attention.

Meet Tina! She is a 1 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. An adoption application can be completed online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Meet Lola PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. Meet Lola, super sweet cuddle bug, playful and great with small dogs. She is about 1 yr old and 10 pounds. The perfect size to cuddle up on bed with. She is housebroken and a delight. Playtime and cuddles-it is what she is about-has just discovered the toy box... PLEASE READ-many rescue dogs are confused and scared when first adopted, they are in a brand new situation, the people are new, the home and yard are new, everything is new and terrifying. It is so important to check collars and harnesses for correct fit and hang on carefully to your brand new dog-even within a fenced yard until they are feeling more comfortable, coming over to you for scratches, etc. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) The adoption fee is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment.-

Story
There's just something special about dogs named Ziggy! Is it their courage? Resilience? Our handsome Ziggy, a rattie mix with possibly fox terrier ancestry, has plenty of both. After being struck by a car and spending a month in a North Carolina shelter with a broken hip, Ziggy was rescued by New Rattitude and given the surgery needed to repair the hip. After brief recovery time, he boarded a plane to fly to Maryland, where his foster home is located and where he courageously faced what he hopes is his last time under the knife--his neutering.   Estimated at 1-2 years old, the resilient fellow has gained some much-needed weight (he's now 12 lbs.) and is making up for lost time with a newfound zest for living. He LOVES playing with toys--LOTS of toys! He gets along with his two canine foster siblings, but his two best friends are dogs weighing over 50 lbs. each. He hopes you'll have a young canine companion for him too. Ziggy is completely house-trained and good walking with harness and leash although he'll bark at strangers, wagging his tail nevertheless.   X-rays show that Ziggy's hip is healing, but some nerve damage remains, causing knuckling of that rear paw. A consulting neurologist states that further healing of the nerve may occur slowly. Unrelated to the nerve, Ziggy may sometimes run on three legs, but he tends to use all four on soft surfaces like carpet or grass. The best part is, Ziggy sees no problem. He does zoomies and stairs, with energy left to play with the big dogs! Nothing seems to stop this resilient little boy, who is so ready for his forever home. And be honest, you KNOW you've always wanted a Ziggy! See more photos in his online album at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/ziggy .   Applicants considering Ziggy should plan to meet him in his foster home prior to adoption to observe his gait and movement patterns in his normal environment. Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. May 23, 2024, 8:54 am
