Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Who is that dog with the waggly tail? MANCHY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Manchy          Best Guess for Breed:   Rat Terrier / Terrier mix    Best Guess for Age:   1.5 years as of 04/18/2025          SEX:  female   Approximate Weight:   14 lbs.   Gets Along With:  other dogs. We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  Vieques, PR shelter -  Manchy needs a foster or a forever home in the DC to come here on May 3!.   Special adoption considerations:  Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure they can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   See a video of this cutie here! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUJAtgbQXuk   Manchy is Looking For: a family to have fun with! At about 18 months of age, Manchy is still full of youthful energy and excitement. This little dog can't wait to come to the city and start exploring. She's heard there are so many exciting sights and smells, lots of other dogs to meet and these places called dog parks where dogs can run off-leash. Manchy gives each one of these a big paws up!   Rat terriers are known for being intelligent and easy to train. Expect Manchy to enjoy puzzle toys but not for long - she's likely to solve the puzzle pretty quickly. Whatever you decide to do with Manchy, we predict she will tackle it with gusto! What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update as soon as she arrives and spends some time with a foster.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. Name: TallulahGender: FemaleBreed: Chihuahua Mixed BreedAge: 4.5 months old (est. date of birth 11/14/24)Weight: 13.6 lbsPERSONALITYTallulah is a friendly little girl who will seek out her humans for affection. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONSThis wee girl needs the right supervision to keep her on the right path while she grows. This little girl is too young to hold her bladder for more than four hours but she is doing a good job with her crate training. COMPANIONSHIPTallulah is full of puppy energy. She loves playing and napping in equal measure, loves humans and craves their company, whether hanging around her people indoors, or exploring the outdoors. This friendly little girl enjoys following her humans around in the yard when they're exploring outdoors. TRAINING AND LEARNINGEvery day Tallulah learns new things about the world and about how to have good puppy manners. Potty training is going well and she is doing a good job using the pee pads. She likes sleeping on her elevated Kuranda bed. She does a good job sitting for attention but she still needs to be encouraged to keep sitting or she will soon pop up, unable to contain her exuberance TRAITS AND IDEAL HOMEThe ideal home is one with a patient family ready to help her learn to be her best self. She would thrive in a home where she will be lovingly rewarded for learning commands, how to politely walk on a leash, stay quietly in her crate, greet people with good manners and all sorts of other important doggy skills. As she learns, she will reward her family with sweetness and loyalty.LOVE AND AFFECTIONTallulah’s foster mom reports that each day, she shows more affection. She loves when her humans pet her and she is almost brave enough to climb into a lap for snuggles. She does love to be held and give kisses. In her kennel, she entertains herself while also entertaining anyone watching, as she engages in adorable play with tug toys, stuffed toys and nylabones. If you’re searching for a pint-size pup who will be a super sweet and loyal companion, this may be your girl.PLEASE NOTEIncluded Veterinary Care:Visit to Veterinarian: Health certificate includedVaccinations: Up to date for her ageMicrochippedHeartworm PreventativeFlea and Tick PreventativeWorm/Parasite TreatmentsSpayed

Story
Ginger is definitely the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet! She weighs approximately 18 lbs and is about 1 year old. She has not had an easy life. She was found roaming the streets, sleeping wherever she could, and getting chased by male dogs. Unfortunately, she didn’t even make it past her first or 2nd heat before she was pregnant. She had 3 beautiful puppies. She spent the first few weeks of their young life providing them shelter and finding food so she could feed them. It wasn’t until they were about 6 weeks when a good Samaritan found her and got her and her puppies safe. We believe the puppies were born around mid October, they have since been adopted 😊 Ginger is such a doll. She loves to please her people and be around people. A complete lap dog and cuddle bug. Once you start petting her, she will roll on her back to get lots of belly rubs. She doesn’t care where you pet her, as long as you do. She’s SOOO happy. Ginger loves other dogs and gets along with every dog she has met. She was a GREAT mom to her little ones too. She doesn’t mind cats at all (please see video). She completely ignores the cats inside the foster’s home and gives them no mind. She would rather be looking at her humans than anything else. Ginger is leash trained and does great on the leash. Because she has limited house experience, she is learning potty training currently, so she does need a home that understands she is not fully house trained. We do believe it won’t take long to house train her with someone who is consistent and patient. Ginger does great with all ages, children and all people. There is no person she has met she doesn’t just melt into. If you’re looking for a super friendly, very sweet, people pleasing, loyal companion, smart, gentle, lapdog doggy – please consider Ginger today. Ginger is spayed, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations, current on dewormer, current on preventions, microchipped and will be given a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting, PLEASE fill out an application at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org
