Story
🌼 Meet Daffodil – Your Tiny Shadow with a Huge Heart Daffodil is a petite rat terrier mix with a personality that’s anything but small. This sweet girl absolutely loves everyone she meets—humans, dogs, and especially cats! She’s the kind of pup who just wants to be wherever you are, happily following you from room to room as your devoted little shadow. Daffodil thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where she can be someone’s constant sidekick. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or moving about your day, she’ll be right there, soaking up your love and giving it right back. She adores other animals and would be thrilled to have furry siblings to play and snuggle with. Cats? She’s obsessed—in the best way. At bedtime, Daffodil prefers to skip the crate (it’s just not her thing) and instead curl up in your arms or right beside you, where she feels safest and happiest. She’s currently working on her potty training and will need a patient adopter to help her continue building good habits. The good news? She’s food-motivated and has a great appetite, which makes training a little easier! If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion who will stick by your side through it all, Daffodil might just be your perfect match. This dogs is up to date on vaccines and preventative. The adoption fee is $475. If you are viewing on Petfinder/Adoptapet and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this dog please visit our website, www.frecklesfoundation.org. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs.... all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training! They are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
When Violet’s owner suddenly passed away, her world was turned upside down. Her single elderly mom cared deeply for her and was they were constant companions. She was left in a place of deep uncertainty, unsure of what would happen to her. Sadly, the family she was left with showed her little attention or affection and simply wanted to pass her off to someone else. She languished for 5 months after the sad death and in that time she lost weight and became very depressed.  That’s when Critter Cavalry stepped in—to show Violet that she was wanted, valued, and loved. When she arrived, Violet was not only painfully thin and very scared. It seemed as though she hadn’t felt a kind hand or a gentle hug in quite some time, nor known the comfort of consistent care. Despite this heartbreaking start, Violet surprised us all. Day by day, she began to brighten—eating more than you’d ever think her little body could manage and slowly gaining the weight she so desperately needed. As she filled out, her personality began to emerge. With each passing day, she became more playful and curious. Violet is a quiet, gentle soul. She is a beautiful black and white Rat Terrier mix and weighs about 20 pounds.  While she often prefers to observe from a distance as the other pups roughhouse, she’s perfectly content to quietly coexist—snuggled up on the couch, soaking in calm companionship.Violet is learning how to live life again, rediscovering trust and comfort at her own pace. She would thrive with a calm, patient, and understanding family who can continue to show her what safety, kindness, and love truly mean. What a joy she could be for a retired couple or single woman who wants to be the center of Violet's adoration and love.  She deserves a resurrection in life and a solid promise of a forever place to live out her many years that she has ahead. Housebroken, non-destructive when home alone and good with other dogs and cats, this girl is a peaceful soul that will bring so much to your life.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 14, 2026, 9:57 pm

Story
Meet Moses! He's a 35 pound Jack Russell/Rat Terrier Mix and is about 6 years old. I adopted him from a rescue organization about 2 years ago. For health reasons, I've made the difficult decision to rehome Moses. Once he gets to know you, Moses is such a sweet, cuddly, protective, loyal lap dog and loves to play and burrow under blankets. He has a lot of energy and loves being outside. I think he would do best with a fenced in yard to run around. Make Moses yours!

Story
AdoptAPet Inquires are not an application and will be ignored. Looking for a Foster or Adopter Rue is approximately 10 months old and fully grown at 20lbs. This sweet girl is playful, smart, and 100% a clown. Learning new things is what she excels at! She loves her walks and boy does she also like to run around, as in chase me if you can to the fastest of dogs :) She gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and of course humans. Kids unknown. She’s not a barker, social yet happily independent. Crate trained. Rue needs an active family. She will be a tripping hazard for the elderly and folks with mobility challenges. At some point right after she was born, Rue experienced some kind of trauma causing a neurological deficit that manifests in an abnormal gate which is not noticeable unless you’re looking for it as well as needing structured potty time. We do not believe she is need of further assessment but potential adopters should discuss Rue with their veterinary professional. Apply here: https://tinyurl.com/TLCdogapp Adoption radius: within 60 miles of zip code 20906. We do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly

Story
Gigi is a very sweet and spry 8 year old. She loves to chase tennis balls and is an avid squirrel chaser. While she neither retrieves the tennis balls nor catches squirrels, nothing dampers her enthusiasm. Now that the kids are finishing college, we find ourselves traveling often and sometimes for weeks at a time for work and to visit family. This sweet girl deserves a home where she has family present on a more consistent basis. Ideally we would prefer to find a pet share arrangement for a year or two - so that she can spend time with the kids when they are home a few weeks in the summer and December. And we would be willing to cover vet expenses during that time. We are also open to finding her the right forever. She’s such a sweet girl and we promise that whenever you take her for a walk - people will remark about her “unique” look. :)
