**Mollie is a board and train dog through Brighter Days.  Please read all about this before applying to adopt** Mollie is a 2 year old Rottie mix Mollie was surrendered to Brighter Days Dog Resue because her previous owners had never taken the time to train her properly.  Becuase of this she was surrendered to Brighter Days to find a family who actually has the time and dedication a 4-legged companion needs.  When an adult dog comes to us lacking any sort of training we immediately get them into our board and train program.  One of the main reasons dogs get euthanized in an overcrowded shelter is due to lack of training.  When we started Brighter Days we made a commitment that we would make sure every single Brighter Days Dog would be set up for a life time of success, which includes training.  Our trainer works so hard to get these dogs to be wonderful, stable, balanced, obedient, great dogs.  To make sure their hard work is not lost over time due to owners who don't continue the training, we require each one of our adopters who is adopting a board and train dog to take our trainers classes in longmont.  It is an eight week course that is usually $300, but for Brighter Days adopters it is free! In her previous home, she lived with children ages six and eleven, but this time around she`s seeking a home with older (10+) or no children. She also lived with a cat and a dog and enjoyed their company. So much so that we`re requiring another pup in her next home to help her feel her best! Sometimes when Lucy meets or sees new or known male-presenting people, she is unsure and will retreat from them. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption.
