Story
**Mollie is a board and train dog through Brighter Days.  Please read all about this before applying to adopt** Mollie is a 2 year old Rottie mix Mollie was surrendered to Brighter Days Dog Resue because her previous owners had never taken the time to train her properly.  Becuase of this she was surrendered to Brighter Days to find a family who actually has the time and dedication a 4-legged companion needs.  When an adult dog comes to us lacking any sort of training we immediately get them into our board and train program.  One of the main reasons dogs get euthanized in an overcrowded shelter is due to lack of training.  When we started Brighter Days we made a commitment that we would make sure every single Brighter Days Dog would be set up for a life time of success, which includes training.  Our trainer works so hard to get these dogs to be wonderful, stable, balanced, obedient, great dogs.  To make sure their hard work is not lost over time due to owners who don't continue the training, we require each one of our adopters who is adopting a board and train dog to take our trainers classes in longmont.  It is an eight week course that is usually $300, but for Brighter Days adopters it is free! Here is what our Trainer has to say about Mollie: Mollie is a high energy, hilarious, sweet and affectionate dog. Mollie will need daily exercise, so an active home is best for her, a home that enjoys walking, running, hiking, etc. Also she needs a house with a big yard and a fully enclosed with a 6 foot privacy fence. She is an awesome dog and will be perfect for the right, active family.  We are going to require Molly goes to a home without other dogs, cats, and kids just to make sure she is set up for success.   If you are inerested in adopting Mollie please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##1403699##

Story
Frank is a 4-month-old Rottie mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. If his soft velvet coat doesnt win your heart, then his happy-go-lucky personality will! This pup is always excited to meet new people and makes fast friends wherever he goes. Hes brave, curious, and wonderfully goofy! Frank loves spending time with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion or plenty of opportunities to make new friends. Hes kennel trained and sleeps through the night and is working hard on his potty training, making great progress every day. Like any growing puppy, Frank is ready to explore the world, learn new things, and soak up all the attention. Due to being a puppy he would thrive with structure, routine and learning boundaries! He would absolutely love a home with a yard where he can run, play, and show off his silly puppy antics. If youre looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion whos equal parts courageous and clown, Frank is ready to fill your home with joy, laughter, and unconditional love. Come meet Frank—you just might find your new best friend! Frank is being fostered in Thornton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/frank/. Story
Meet Larry, a very shy boy who needs time and patience to feel safe in a new home. He’ll benefit from positive, fear-free training to help build his confidence and strengthen his bond with his new humans. Larry might do well with a respectful, confident dog friend, and due to his fearfulness, he’s best suited for a kids 13+ home. His previous families agree he needs a calm home with a patient person who can devote plenty of time to helping him thrive.

Story
Meet Lucy! This darling young girl is looking for a home where she can feel secure when meeting new people. In her previous home, she lived with children ages six and eleven, but this time around she`s seeking a home with older (10+) or no children. She also lived with a cat and a dog and enjoyed their company. So much so that we`re requiring another pup in her next home to help her feel her best! Sometimes when Lucy meets or sees new or known male-presenting people, she is unsure and will retreat from them. Her ideal home would be a ladies only party!Lucy can be met with until 4:30pm so our Training & Behavior team can provide adoption counseling.

Story
Meet Chacha Female DOB: May 22, 2024 Weight: 29 pounds (medium small) Breed: Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Spayed (Fixed) (Spayed during a community campaign — no paperwork available) Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Chacha T is a loving, social girl with a happy personality and a wonderful balance of affection and playful energy. She absolutely loves going on walks and enjoys spending time with her people, making her a great companion for someone who enjoys having a dog involved in daily life and activities. She also gets along well with: Dogs Children Chacha T does not do well with cats and would do best in a cat-free home. Some dogs naturally have stronger prey-drive tendencies or become overly focused on smaller animals depending on breed traits, personality, and past experiences. She has beautifully matured beyond the puppy stage while still keeping a fun, playful spirit. Chacha T enjoys companionship, interaction, and being included as part of the family. A Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix is typically a loyal, intelligent, and affectionate companion with a wonderful balance of playful energy and steadfast devotion. This breed mix often combines the Boxer's fun-loving, people-oriented personality with the Black Mouth Cur's confidence, work ethic, and strong loyalty to their family. They are happiest when they are included in everyday life and enjoy being active alongside the people they love. These dogs are eager to learn and respond well to positive reinforcement, making them highly trainable and rewarding companions. They enjoy daily exercise, outdoor adventures, interactive games, and activities that challenge both their mind and body. While they have an energetic side, they are also known for being affectionate and enjoy relaxing with their family after an active day. A Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily exercise and outdoor activities Continued positive reinforcement training Mental stimulation and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Plenty of companionship and family interaction A lifelong commitment to their emotional and physical well-being With love, leadership, and consistency, a Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix grows into a confident, devoted, and well-mannered companion who forms deep bonds with their family and is always ready for the next adventure. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Chacha T will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Continued socialization and engagement Daily exercise and mental stimulation Patience during adjustment periods Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Chacha T will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and updated vaccinations Preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because vaccine records are unavailable and vaccines are currently due, adopters should establish veterinary care promptly after adoption to update and maintain her preventative care schedule. Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping her live a healthy and happy life. Chacha T is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
