Story
Hi, I’m Brutus. Yes, I’m technically an adult dog… but spiritually I am a large enthusiastic puppy who hasn’t quite realized how big he is yet. My favorite hobbies include: • Melting dramatically into my person for pets• Supervising work calls by snoring in the background• Learning new things so I can hear “good boy” (my favorite phrase)• Climbing onto furniture like I’m a tiny cat trapped in a very large dog body Seriously, if there is a couch, chair, ottoman, or suspiciously climbable surface nearby, I will probably attempt to scale it. Personal boundaries and “four paws on the floor” are still concepts I’m working on. Apparently not every piece of furniture was designed to hold 58 pounds of determined cuddle bug. News to me. The good news? I’m smart, eager to please, and I genuinely enjoy training. I’d really thrive with someone experienced who can continue teaching me structure, boundaries, and good household manners. I’m the kind of dog who comes with a lot of potential and a huge goofy personality. I’m already a pretty responsible dude in a lot of ways. I’m crate trained, potty trained, and I sleep through the night like a champ. In the mornings I enjoy some training time and a nice walk before settling in for my important daytime job: Professional Napper During Zoom Meetings. I’m very attentive and I really love my person. I’m the kind of dog who checks in, listens, and tries hard to get it right. I bond deeply with my humans and love being involved in whatever you’re doing. If you want a dog who wants to be your sidekick 24/7, I’m absolutely your guy. I also recently had elbow surgery to help correct some joint issues, and I’m currently recovering like a champ. My future family should be prepared to help me stay healthy with low-impact exercise, good weight management, and continued structure while I heal and grow stronger. Long walks and adventures with my person? Amazing. Launching myself off furniture like a WWE wrestler? Apparently not ideal for my long-term career plans. Because I’m a big, intelligent working-breed mix, I do best with consistency, clear boundaries, and continued training. I’m extremely people-focused, eager to learn, and very rewarding to work with for someone who enjoys building a strong bond with their dog. I’m looking for an adult-only home where I can be the one and only pet. I really love having my people to myself and feel most comfortable in a calm, structured environment without other animals around. Cats are definitely not my thing, and I can get overstimulated around other dogs, so I’ll thrive best as your one-and-only sidekick. I also need thoughtful management around food and high-value items, so I’m looking for someone experienced, patient, and committed to continuing my training and helping me succeed. In return, you get a deeply loyal, affectionate dog who wants nothing more than to be near his person and included in daily life. With the right structure and consistency, I’m an incredibly rewarding dog. I’m affectionate, expressive, hilarious, and full of personality. I want a person who sees my potential, appreciates my giant-puppy energy, and wants a best friend to learn and grow alongside. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, a big cuddle bug, and a dog who will absolutely lean his full body weight against you for pets… I might be your guy. — Brutus ##2681217##

This is Kane. He had to flee NM after allegedly committing tax fraud, which is tough when you’re a 100-pound Rottweiler with no access to accounting software. He’s laying low now and rebuilding his life one chicken treat at a time. Kane is convinced he’s a lap dog. If you sit down, you’ve agreed to cuddles — it’s legally binding. He’s affectionate, smart, mildly dramatic, and very food motivated. He enjoys short, relaxed walks and exploring at his own pace. Recent X-rays showed severe arthritis in his front elbow from untreated elbow dysplasia (turns out crime doesn’t pay… especially for your joints). He’s currently comfortable, but an orthopedic consult would be a good idea, and he’ll likely need pain management as he ages. It doesn’t slow him down much — he just prefers the “retired mastermind” lifestyle over marathon training. If you’re looking for a big, loving, loyal companion who wants to be your shadow (and your lap dog), Kane is your guy. ##2666755##

Story
Hello, I'm Rumble! I'm a big lovable Rottie with a heart of gold for people!! According to my foster mom, I've got the heart of a big, playful puppy, and sometimes I forget that I'm a larger dog when I'm having a blast. So, if you have smaller dogs at home, we might just need a little adjustment period to get along famously. But here's the thing—when it comes to cats, I'm not the most purr-fect playmate, so if you've got a furry feline in the house, I might not be the ideal match. Now, if you believe you can provide me with a loving and caring home, please don't hesitate to apply today. And yes, I may be soaking up the Texas sunshine right now, but the good news is that I'm ready to hit the road and make my way to your heart and home. All it takes is a $230 transport fee, and I'll be on my way to becoming your loyal companion.Let's make it happen! Apply today, and let's embark on a journey of love and companionship together. Thank you for considering me for adoption! Online Application: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $300).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Greetings, kind person. Please call me Maggie, or even Maggie Mae (thanks, Rod Stewart. I truly feel seen.) Actually, call me whatever you like, but please, do call me! I’m a distinguished 8-year-old female, a mellow mix of Rottweiler/English Bulldog, and I’m looking for a place to lay my grey and white head. Stopped dying my fur long ago, you see. Now, as a “lady of a certain age,” I simply let my soul shine. Love people, love dogs, love to finally find my one and only. I know you just met me, but I’d like to be your new best friend.  I’m gentle and grateful. Take treats like I can’t believe they’re for me, and I do enjoy my new foster brother. Perhaps you have fur and non-fur babies in your home? Nothing would make me happier.  In my past life, I was potty-trained, so I pride myself on preserving that tradition. They say I’m exceptionally sweet –gosh– and I’m quite easy to please. A little sun, some quality sniffs, and plenty of time to smile at others/take naps. If you’re looking for an amiable gal who just wants to be in your orbit, I daresay you’ve found me. Looking forward to meeting your acquaintance, hopefully for life.    With sincere hopes for happily ever after, Maggie ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Please do not email and ask for more information on how to adopt, all the information is already available online. The information you see here is all that is currently available about this dog. Story
Meet Kylo! He was rescued from a high-kill shelter in San Antonio, TX after learning that he had been attacked by another dog in the "play yard" and was facing euthanasia the next day due to being fearful after the incident. Once he was out of the shelter, Kylo took the time he needed to decompress in a foster home in SA. He is now ready for his new beginning in Colorado. Kylo is intially shy when meeting people. Once he trusts his humans, he is loving and affectionate. He adores playing with other dogs and would benefit from a home with a confident dog that can teach him how to feel safe.   Kylo can come to Colorado once he has a secured foster or foster-to-adopt home waiting for him. Sida Bay (9) and Meet Scarlett (11)  —Our Gentle, Joyful Doberman Girls Scarlett and Sida Bay are the kind of dogs who make a house instantly feel like home. Happy, kind, and beautifully socialized, these girls greet life — and everyone they meet — with bright eyes, wagging tails, and easygoing charm. They live happily with two large resident dogs (one male, one female), and their manners are nothing short of impressive. Respectful, socially savvy, and wonderfully easy to have in the home, they clearly grew up in a place where they were loved and well cared for. They arrived with excellent house manners and a genuine affection for both people and other dogs. The greet every human and canine they meet with relaxed, friendly body language. At our PetSmart event they quickly became fan favorites, charming even the most skeptical observers with their calm, gentle presence. Their days are filled with simple joys. They enjoy occasional/short bursts of play time, napping in the sun and just hanging out. They bring a warm, cheerful energy wherever they go. Daily hikes are not on their wish list — these girls are perfectly content enjoying the comfort of home and a cozy spot to relax indoors. Sida, at 106 pounds, and Scarlett, at 81 pounds, embody everything people love about the Doberman Pinscher: loyal, noble, intuitive, affectionate, and deeply devoted to their humans. They have spent their entire lives side by side, and we are committed to finding the special home that will honor that beautiful bond. After many happy years with the woman who got them as puppies, their world changed when their beloved mom passed away. They have handled this transition with grace and kindness, and now they’re simply hoping for a new home where they can continue sharing the love they’ve always given so freely. They are heartworm negative. Scarlet has hypothryroidism. The prescription for Scarlett's hypthyroidism is levothyroxin ( generic human thyroid medication). It is $17 for 120 tablets on Chewy. The med is also known as Thyro-tabs Scarlett will need 1 tablet (0.8mg) each morning (once a day). Meet Dolly — a beautiful Doberman with a goofy personality, a sweet heart, and the kind of face that makes it very hard to say no to her. Dolly is still learning the ropes when it comes to training, but she’s smart, eager to please, and making great progress every day. She can be leash reactive on walks, so she’ll need someone patient and consistent who can continue helping her feel confident out in the world. Once she’s comfortable though, she’s dog friendly and enjoys having canine buddies around. At home, Dolly is truly a dream. She’s fully house trained, crate trained, non-destructive, and loves being close to her people. Whether she’s zooming around being silly, leaning into you for affection, or giving you her classic Doberman stare, she has a way of making herself the center of attention in the best possible way.Dolly would thrive in a home that understands the Doberman breed and is excited to continue helping her grow. She’s affectionate, loyal, funny, and full of personality — the kind of dog who quickly becomes part of the family. ##2730838##
