Story
In 2024 I was volunteering at a local animal shelter and absolutely fell in love with a mama dog who came in with 5 babies who all survived parvo. I brought her home hoping she would be a good companion to my current dog, but unfortunately their relationship did not grow. It has become clear in the last year and a half that they will not be friends and we believe there is a better home for Cheddar where she is the only dog. This girl loves nothing more than to snuggle, she could lay with you all day. She’s a great guard dog, and loves chasing squirrels and playing tug. She needs to be the only pet in your house. She has dog reactivity and a bite history with our other dog. Because of these behavioral complexities, it would be best for her to be in a house with only older children. A home visit and multiple meet and greets with her will be required to move forward with adoption. It’s our goal to find her a home where she can thrive.

Luna is a beautiful 5-year-old Rottweiler girl who is ready for the life she has always deserved. Despite spending most of her life outdoors, Luna has remained incredibly sweet, loving, and eager to be around people. She is a gentle soul who is looking for a family that will show her what it means to be truly loved. Luna’s dream home is one where she can finally be part of the family — relaxing indoors, getting cozy on a soft bed, receiving plenty of affection, and being spoiled the way every dog should be. She has so much love to give and is ready to trade her outdoor days for a life filled with comfort, companionship, and care. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet, and deserving companion, Luna is waiting for the chance to be your best friend. Story
Hello, I'm Rumble! I'm a big lovable Rottie with a heart of gold for people!! According to my foster mom, I've got the heart of a big, playful puppy, and sometimes I forget that I'm a larger dog when I'm having a blast. So, if you have smaller dogs at home, we might just need a little adjustment period to get along famously. But here's the thing—when it comes to cats, I'm not the most purr-fect playmate, so if you've got a furry feline in the house, I might not be the ideal match. Now, if you believe you can provide me with a loving and caring home, please don't hesitate to apply today. And yes, I may be soaking up the Texas sunshine right now, but the good news is that I'm ready to hit the road and make my way to your heart and home. All it takes is a $230 transport fee, and I'll be on my way to becoming your loyal companion.Let's make it happen! Apply today, and let's embark on a journey of love and companionship together. Thank you for considering me for adoption! Online Application: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $300).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Meet Coco! Coco has already been through more than most puppies ever should, but you’d never know it from the way she embraces life! This gorgeous Rottweiler mix came to us from Kansas with her sisters and battled her way through parvo, proving just how resilient she is. Now Coco is ready to leave the tough stuff behind and focus on the important things: soaking up love, having fun, and being the best puppy she can be. She’s got an adorable personality and a whole lot of love to give, and we have a feeling her forever family is going to wonder how they ever lived without her. Coco fought hard for her second chance, and now she’s ready for the happy ending she deserves! ##2814877##

Story
Lexi is a sweet, silly puppy who is ready to bring lots of fun, love, and puppy kisses to her forever home! This happy girl loves to play, be goofy, and soak up attention. She absolutely adores her foster sister, and the two of them love to play and wrestle together all day long. Lexi also does wonderfully around her foster cat and mostly just ignores him—which is exactly what you want! Lexi is already doing some great things! She sleeps through the night, uses the dog door, and is making great progress with crate training. She’s almost potty trained, although she still has the occasional puppy accident. Like any puppy, Lexi is still learning and growing. She’ll do best with a family who is ready to continue helping her build confidence, learn good manners, and navigate all the fun (and sometimes chaotic!) stages of puppyhood. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, silly little companion to keep you laughing and on your toes, Lexi might just be your girl!  ##2816840##

Story
Hi, I’m Brutus — a 58-pound cuddle bug with the heart of a puppy and absolutely no idea how much space I take up. I’m affectionate, goofy, people-focused, and happiest when I’m near my person. I’m crate trained, potty trained, sleep through the night, and I’m very good at my daytime job: napping through Zoom meetings. I’m also smart and genuinely enjoy training. I’ve been working with a professional trainer on “Drop,” settling on a mat, muzzle conditioning, and staying calmer around other dogs. I’ve made good progress, but I’m still a big adolescent dog learning impulse control, household manners, and when it’s time to settle instead of launching into my next adventure. I had elbow surgery in May to correct joint issues and am recovering well. I’ll need a family committed to keeping me at a healthy weight, choosing appropriate low-impact exercise, and helping protect my joints long-term. Long walks? Yes. WWE-style launches off the couch? My doctors have apparently vetoed that. I do have a history of resource guarding around food and some high-value items. My training is helping, and I’m learning that giving things up can lead to treats, trades, and even better things. I need experienced adults who will continue using positive, predictable management rather than grabbing things away from me. I’ve also made encouraging progress around other dogs and can practice calm, neutral behavior with support. Because I can still become overexcited and resource guarding adds some unpredictability, my safest placement is an adult-only home where I can be the one and only pet. Cats are not a match for me either. My ideal person is patient, consistent, and enjoys continuing to train with their dog. Give me structure, enrichment, clear boundaries, and plenty of affection, and you’ll get a loyal, hilarious sidekick who wants to be involved in everything you do. If you’re looking for a big cuddle bug with a huge personality and lots of potential, I might be your guy. — Brutus ##2681217##
