Story
Roxie is probably the friendliest rottweiler you will ever meet. She is sweet, playful and loves lounging at you feet. She also loves taking her walks and enjoys her backyard, as long as you are there with her or there is another dog for her to play with. We got Roxie as a pupply just after she was weaned from her mom, at about 8 weeks. She turned 3 years old on December 29th. Like any dog, she loves her snacks - chicken feet - are her favorite. Dried or frozen though she is partial to the frozen ones. Her favorite stuffed toy is Lambchop so I just keep a few extras for her. She also loves her groomer because she loves to take a bath! She has been spaded and has never had any puppies. She will be your protector an unfriendly dog comes near you. She is a great companion and good company. Wait until you hear her sing along with her favorite TV commercials or her songs on the radio!

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Beautiful Redd Potato is 1yo, weighs 88lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Redd Potato knows sit, stay, & off; she does well during car rides; she fears and/or dislikes thunder and loud noises.  Redd Potato's guardian adds:        "Redd Potato is very welcoming to friends and family alike, always the first to greet you at the door with her wagging tail and charming personality.  The coonhound in her is sure to immediately detect whether you will be the one to provide her beloved belly rubs, any toy, or a special treat - she's not picky.  Finding treats in puzzle toys (Kong, Woof, etc) is a favorite pastime.  When she smiles and looks at you with those beautiful amber eyes, you can't resist giving her an extra treat or two.  She loves a fenced yard and running back and forth or in circles.  When she gets tired or wants some quiet time, she retreats to her crate on her own. The groomers have not had any problems with her baths and nails, always reporting good behavior.  Redd loves to be loved and will love you right back. If you need a hole dug, she's your girl!  She will not climb a full flight of stairs but two or three is not a problem.  She needs some more practice on a leash, but doesn't do terribly bad."   Redd Potato's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:   "Interdog Aggression - raised with canine sister she was found and adopted with; LOVED each other until two weeks ago.  Now they growl at each other and must be kept seperate." BITE/SCRATCH/LUNGE/ATTACK INCIDENTS:  On 12 & 13 July 2023, Redd Potato bit her canine sister, the bite broke the skin, but animal control was not involved.  Redd Potato's guardian explains the circumstances surrounding the incidents:  "1st (incident) - Dogs were playing in the yard, and became overly aggressive with one another; both came out with injuries (bites and scratches).  They were fine the remainder of the night and next morning with each other.   2nd (incident) - The following night, after the girls had played together and eaten dinner, I was inspecting her for bites and scratches to apply first aid to, when her sister walked over and they lunged at each other and began to fight again. They separated willingly.  New scratches and bites from this incident were treated." Redd Potato's guardian offers a brief medical history: "Scrathes and bites from two dog incidents are healing are healing well.  Waiting for fur to grow back over where vet shaved and treated.  Cutaneous histiocytoma on chest should disappear on its own within a month or two." Redd Potato's guardian states the following regarding children:  Redd Potato lives with a 15yo child, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children, stating "Wags tail, wants attention". Redd Potato's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Redd Potato lives with her canine sister, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "At most recent vet visit, left them [other dogs] alone.  If dogs walk by the house, she will bark at them from our fenced yard."  Redd Potato's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Redd Potato hasn't lived with cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "Barks at cat that walks outside of fence." Redd Potato's guardian describes her as: Very active Barks alot Playful Friendly Affectionate Fearful Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Digger Redd Potato's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "No dogs, no other pets, no young children, fenced yard." Story
Introducing Reyna, the regal and affectionate Rottweiler mix who lives up to her name as the Queen of the Good Girls. Reyna is ready to reign supreme in her forever home, surrounded by love and care. Reyna's journey began when she was found on the highway, abandoned and in desperate need of help. Despite her challenging start in life, Reyna's resilience and loving nature shone through. She captured the hearts of those who discovered her, and her transformation began. This beautiful girl is a Rottweiler mix, displaying the distinctive markings and strong physique of her breed. While her exact mix may be a mystery, her gentle and loving demeanor sets her apart as a special companion. Reyna is best suited to a home with older kids who can understand and respect her needs. Although she is a sweetheart, her size and strength may be better suited to older children who can handle her with care. She is not compatible with cats, so a feline-free household is necessary. When it comes to her fellow canines, Reyna prefers larger dogs. A meet-and-greet is recommended to ensure compatibility and a harmonious living environment, however she can go to a family out of town who either has no others or an easy going dog. Reyna thrives on positive interactions and socialization, making her a wonderful companion for those with existing canine family members. This majestic girl is crate-trained and does not experience separation anxiety. She is comfortable spending time in her crate and will appreciate having a safe and cozy space to call her own. Reyna has already learned the simple trick of sitting for treats, showcasing her intelligence and willingness to please. Reyna has a list of favorite things that bring her joy. She relishes car rides, delighting in the wind blowing through her fur as she accompanies her family on their adventures. Rolling in the grass and exploring the neighborhood during walks are among her cherished pastimes. Reyna loves running and exercising her energetic nature, so an active lifestyle is essential for her well-being. When it's time to unwind, Reyna appreciates soft blankets and toys that provide comfort and entertainment. She adores spending time with her beloved humans, soaking up their affection and companionship. Reyna is a loyal and devoted companion, always ready to be by your side. While Reyna has her preferences, there are a couple of dislikes to note. She is not fond of cats, and water is not her favorite element. Understanding and respecting these preferences will help ensure a harmonious home environment for Reyna. Reyna's story is one of resilience and triumph over adversity. From her initial discovery, where she was found dumped on the highway, to her miraculous transformation into a loving and gentle soul, she has shown incredible strength and a capacity for love. If you're searching for a royal canine companion, Reyna is waiting to be crowned the queen of your heart and home. With her regal presence, gentle nature, and unwavering loyalty, she will bring immeasurable joy to your life. Welcome Reyna into your family, and let her reign over a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventures by your side. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
