Story
Bruce is 1 year and 2 months old, fully potty trained, and super smart. He’ll wake you up in the morning when he needs to go outside. He’s very energetic and playful, so he’d do best with someone who enjoys walks, playtime, or has a backyard where he can run around. He loves people and is very interactive — including playful nibbling during play. He’s a fun, loving dog who just wants attention and time with his person. I work two jobs (electrician and college dining hall) and don’t have the time anymore to give Bruce the activity and attention he deserves. I’m the main one taking care of him, and the rest of my household isn’t really dog-oriented. Because of that, I’m looking for a new home where he can get more time, love, and engagement. Just want Bruce to be with someone who can really enjoy him and give him the life he deserves.

Story
Hunter will be 3 years old in January. He has a lot of energy. He doesn't like listening to a woman's calm voice. He is calmer with men. Hunter needs space to run around, an apartment will not be good for him since he has high energy. He can be very sweet. We got home when he was 6 weeks old so he is family. I need someone who will show him love not someone who will mistreat him. Also, I would like to check on him, whether by text or call, from time to time, to see how he is doing. Only experience adopted please. Thank you.

She would do best in a home without children or other pets, as she enjoys being the center of your world. While Liberty can get along with some dogs, she is selective about her canine companions and prefers to choose her friends. She’s housebroken, well-behaved, and walks beautifully on a leash. With a medium energy level, Liberty loves her outings but also knows how to unwind and relax when it's time to settle down. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will cherish your company, Liberty might be the perfect fit!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Nelly is a sweet, calm, 7-year old Rottweiler/German Shepard mix who is modest in her needs and super easy to handle.Nelly likes her snack and was oh so happy to munch on the Milk Bone that I fed her! We easily leashed up and went outside. Nelly was a pro navigating the maze of kennels and lead me straight to the exit door!Once outside Nelly enjoyed the fresh air and took advantage of the outdoors to take care of business, so she may be housebroken.Nelly has beautiful short gold fur and attractive white markings on her face and chest. She has a sweet smile and cute floppy ears too!At 7-years old, Nelly has pep in her step, appears well cared-for (and definitely well-fed!), and is eager to join your family. Her positive vibes and willing nature will be useful when introducing her to your family’s routine. And the best news: Nelly is available to all adopters!Come and meet Nelly - you’ll be pleasantly surprised!Check out my video by copying and pasting link below into a browser window:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMmj08bv1DcPrince George’s County Animal Services Division3750 Brown Station RoadUpper Marlboro MD301-780-7200

Story
My dad had purchased Chief from a neighbor when Chief was (6) weeks old. My dad had enjoyed taking Chief on walks around the block, watching Chief run freely inside the yard, and even simply enjoyed the times when Chief simply sat or lay at my dad's feet watching television as if he was actually watching. Chief is a healthy, cheerful, and energetic companion whom we regret that my dad is no longer able to care for due to my dad's medical condition.

Story
Coi is an active dog. She does need a bit of attention which I unfortunately can not provide with my new work schedule. I got her as a puppy. I’m her new home it would be nice to get her someone who can consistently train her and provide the attention and affection she deserves. Although active she is very gentle. She barely barks and never growls. She likes to play and is pretty smart.

Story
House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Barks occasionally My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Vela is how hard she tries to be a lap dog! Likes: Hikes, playing at the dog park, riding in the car, snuggling   Hi, Im Vela (rhymes with Shelia)! Im a super happy, playful girl who absolutely loves her people. Seriously, if you look up loyal in the dictionary, Ill be there. Well, okay, not actually. But I could be! Even though I have a certain love for my person, Im a friendly lady with other people too! I like to make friends on walks and at the park. I love to play with other dogs, and have a great time at daycare while my foster mom is working. Im also crate trained, and good about staying home alone if it isnt a daycare day. I love snacks and toys, and as queen of the house, I believe that I should have as many of both as I want! Im sure my future subjectser, family, will agree. Im a smart cookie, and Ive already learned a bunch of new tricks since coming to D.C. I know sit, stay, off, and leave it. Im also totally crate trained and potty trained. Id like to learn a lot more tricks with my new forever family, so get your treats ready! So if youre looking for a spunky cuddlebug who will keep the couch warm while youre at work, and greet you with all the joy in the world when youre back, look no further! For real-a, you need a Vela!
