Story
Mason is designated volunteer due to his leash reactivity. Whoever walks him should know not to allow him to get near anybody he is not okay with. He is a Designated Volunteer dog so he can have slow introductions to new people. Start to meet Mason by visiting him and throwing treats into his run area and talking with him. Once he seems sure, ask a staff member or favorite volunteers to introduce you. Once this is done Mason should be good with you walking him.

Story
Lou Lou greets life with a joyful energy and enthusiasm. She likes long walks, lots of playing and cuddles.  She enjoys exploring the world and meeting new people.  She would like to be friends with everyone and learn about everything.  Lou Lou is good with other dogs and respectful with cats.  While she is interested in children, she is a strong dog and may be too enthusiastic when interacting with small children.  She has a great deal of energy and does best when her energy is given an appropriate outlet.  Chew toys and games of chase the ball are favorites.  Lou Lou is crate trained and housebroken.  If you are looking for a faithful companion to share adventures, Lou Lou is ready to take on the challenge.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
This is Jager, (like the drink), he is a wonderful, beautiful young energetic puppy, we acquired him from a family friend that bred two Rottweilers, so he is a full Rott puppy. We unfortunately cannot keep him because of our growing busier schedules, and we also have a rapidly growing 14 month old, we have just become too busy to be able to keep up with him as well, he loves people, doesn't get aggressive at all, and he has been really good with our child.

**** COURTESY POST ONLY! *** Meet Angel! He is a very sweet, ~40 pound, 8 month old (as of December 2023), rottie mix. He is high energy and loves to play, run, and cuddle. He is still a puppy and will need some basic training with behavior like jumping and bathroom habits, but is already well socialized with people and dogs. He would do best in a household seeking a dog who is young, healthy, and friendly, who also has the time and energy to walk and train him. Interested in learning more about Angel? Story
Female, 14 months old, 37lbs Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Mostly with an occasional accident Energy level: Moderate Noise level: Quiet Hey there, potential forever family! I'm Giblet, a spirited pup with a heart full of love and a tail that wags at the speed of light. I might still be a work in progress, but I promise my positive traits make up for it! Let me start by telling you about my favorite things. Toys are my absolute jam, especially if it involves a game of fetch. The thrill of chasing after a ball and bringing it back to you? Count me in! Cuddling is another top-tier activity for me—I love snuggling up with my hoomans after a day of play. Dog parks are like my second home; I thrive on the joy of running around with other doggos, making new pals in the process. I'm a sweet and loving girl. I'm a pro at crate training, and you won't find me tearing up the house when left alone. The city noises don't faze me, and I'm always curious to explore my surroundings. Leash skills are a bit of a challenge for me, and I'm still mastering basic commands, but hey, I've aced "sit" in no time! As for my schedule, I'm a creature of routine. Morning walks, midday strolls, and evening adventures—it's all in a day's play for me. I'm mostly housetrained, but I might have a tiny accident now and then—nobody's perfect, right? Let's talk about my energy level; I'd say it's moderate. I love being active but can also be your cozy couch potato companion. I'm not a barker; in fact, I'm pretty quiet, and I get along well with other dogs. Cats? I'm not sure, and kids are an unknown territory for me. In terms of compatibility, apartments are totally my scene—no need for a yard here. I'm a good passenger in the car, too; road trips, anyone? In a nutshell, I'm a playful, affectionate, and intelligent gal who's ready to fill your life with joy and tail wags. With a bit more training and a whole lot of love, I'll be the perfect addition to your pack. So, what do you say? Ready to embark on this adventure together? I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can share all the love I’ve got to give! My foster guardian says: “ Giblet is a sweet and loving girl who always wants to be near her hoomans.” Likes: Toys (fetch), cuddling, dog parks, playing with other dogs Dislikes : Nothing, really! My ideal home: I’m flexible and will adapt to my owners lifestyle! Good with dogs,
Story
Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.A right hook of cuteness KISSES NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Kisses           Best Guess for Breed:  Boxer mix      Best Guess for Age:  10 weeks as of 2/24            SEX:  Female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  4.6 lbs as of 2/3   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.   Special Adoption Considerations:  Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Kisses is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Kisses. I've loved hanging out with all my brothers and sister (Kipling, Kookie, Keegan, Kibble, Kiwi, Koala, and Kipper), but, to be honest, it's getting a little crowded in here, and I'm ready to find my forever home. I'm looking for a home that will let me be a silly, bouncy puppy. When I'm a bit older, I want to explore the neighborhood with lots of walks, and I definitely want to make lots of doggie and people friends along the way. Since I'm such a young baby, I'd also really love to go to puppy kindergarten! What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me?   What My Foster Says About Me: True to her name, Kisses is the most affectionate of the crew.  Don’t let those cute puppy dog eyes fool you – she is always plotting a sneak attack to lick your face.  She likes to sleep with her plushy lamb toy. Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than June 14, 2024. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       .
