If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Liberty (LIB1124OWSFS)Estimated Breed:   Rottweiler / Black & Tan Coonhound Mix  Approximate Age:  4 yearsApproximate Weight:   70 lbsCurrently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Liberty is a loving and devoted girl who thrives on attention from her people. She would do best in a home without children or other pets, as she enjoys being the center of your world. While Liberty can get along with some dogs, she is selective about her canine companions and prefers to choose her friends. She’s housebroken, well-behaved, and walks beautifully on a leash. With a medium energy level, Liberty loves her outings but also knows how to unwind and relax when it's time to settle down. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will cherish your company, Liberty might be the perfect fit!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Please contact Courtney Nobles (courtneyn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Super handsome young boy seeking happily ever after! FLINT NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Flint and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (06/15) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, VA (6100A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!     Name:  Flint       Best Guess for Breed: Rottweiler mix     Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of May 2025          SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 90 lbs   Gets Along With:   Dogs, cats, and older kids!    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Flint is Looking For: The best home ever! Through no fault of his own, Flint is looking for a new home because his current family will be moving overseas and are unable to take him with them. He has spent the last two years living with kids and cat who love him dearly, and want to see him live the life of luxury. Flint has done a lot of training and is a very smart boy but wants to continue with his training and remain an 'A+' student. Flint likes to keep his circle small and can be picky about his dog friends (not everyone is a social butterfly, right?) The staff at the daycare and boarding he has been to said, 'He is a very sweet boy that likes to expend a ton of energy when he plays. While he can be a little much for more introverted dogs, when he is with an equally spirited animal, he shines! He absolutely adores all human interaction.'    This handsome boy is seeking his own humans for snuggles and world exploration! He has all that awesome young-dog energy coupled with a couch potato in training. He would make a wonderful addition to an active home where he gets to burn off his energy going for hikes and runs, then cuddle of the couch for the newest Netflix binge.   Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and steady, loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is this lovable big lug the companion you've been seeking?  What My Foster Says About Me:   Come back soon for updates!   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Athena is a serbian rottweiler, is 7yo, weighs 75lbs, is spayed, is not up to date on her vaccines, and is not microchipped.  Athena knows the following commands:  sit, stay, lay down.  Athena dislikes/fears the vet, being approached aggressively; some men make her nervous.  She is kept in the home during the day and sleeps in her crate at night.  She loves car rides, as she gets excited and loves the windows opened.  Athena's guardian adds:  "... extremely loyal, fast learner, eager to please and loves affection.  We have had a dog behavioralist (Tony) take her almost every weekend for the past year to help socialize her and ease her anxiety.  If you have an interest in adopting her, we ask that you meet with Tony so he can make sure she is a good fit for your home.  We will provide all the supplies you will need to take care of her. A kennel, dog bed, leash, collar, dog food container, brush, dog hair vacuum, ect." Athena's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  "We can no longer take care of her." Lunge incident:  on 1 September 2003, Athena lunged at a neighbor's cat; there was no contact; animal control was not involved.  Athena's guardian explains:   "She never touched our neighbor.  I had her on a leash out for a walk.  He came around his car and approached her aggressively.  She was barking at him but he still kept coming closer.  She then lunged at him when he came within 2 feet of her.  He backed off after that.  I have had a dog behavioralist take her every weekend since then." Athena's guardian states the following regarding children:  Athena lives with young children, ages 2 and 4, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with smaller children, stating...      "Athena is extremely patient with small children. My two children have played with her ears, grabbed her from behind, grabbed her face, played with her paws, cuddled her in her bed, given her treats, etc. Her only downfall is not realizing her own size. If she is excited to get outside and the children are in the path, she might graze them and knock them over with her shoulder."     Athena's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Athena has lived with dogs, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating...      "Athena has lived with a small Shih Tzu and a Black Lab mix in her first home. She has also been introduced to a few different dogs in the past year and been totally fine with most of them. There have been a couple times though that she does not get a long with another dog and can become aggressive. If the new home does have another dog, an introduction would need to be done to make sure they get along." Athena's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Athena hasn't lived with cats, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "She chases them and tries to grab them with her mouth". Athena's guardian describes her as: Playful Affectionate Protective Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Athena's guardian describes her ideal future home:         "Athena would do great in a chill home environment, she is a bit of a homebody, she loves to cuddle and get a lot of love and affection, a nice yard that is fenced in would do great for her excercise as she loves to play fetch and sniff around the outdoors, it doesn't take much for her to get tired out though and after a few throws she will be happy to chill next to you and enjoy the company." Story
If Rayne were a human, she would be a supermodel...but she would run, not walk, down the runway! She is a willowy young girl, 54 pounds, with long thin legs and a beautiful face framed by perfectly shaped and expressive brows. Rayne has a sweet demeanor, she loves to move, and she loves getting scratches; especially behind her ears.  She is a joyful young lady at 3 years old - with a happy and loving nature. Rayne was rescued from PG County's euthanasia list and now she needs to find people to give her the life she deserves.  Rayne LOVES to walk, run, fetch a ball, and play.  She is a girl with energy and would be great for active adopters who enjoy hikes or long walks.  She would do best with a fenced yard to play in. Rayne is eager to learn and eager to bond.  Her ideal adopter will work with her on training - and she is smart so she will learn quickly. She loves to ride in the car, enjoys the fresh air on her face, and the feeling of adventure! She wags her tail when other dogs pass.  Rayne is looking for a place where she can run and play and then rest easy in the comfort and safety of her forever home. PAW adopts in the DC, MD, northern VA, and southern PA area only. ##2324335##
