Story
If you are looking for a young, frisky pup who loves to play, Roady would be your new best friend. He could be part boxer or boxweiler with his furrowed brow but leans in like a lab, part heeler perhaps? Whatever the mix, Roady does love the car, travels politely, and would thrive with a daily dog park visit. He has a lot of stamina, runs fast, and enjoys chasing balls. He might do really well with agility training. Roady loves his meals and is working on "sit" to wait for them. He is a bit shy on occasion and it will take time for "come" to be second nature. Roady can get distracted outside as all his senses seem to be on alert. He has especially keen hearing and long distance vision, but does not bark often. He is a gentleman in the house as he is totally housebroken! Roady is still young and learning, loving a chew toy of any kind, especially plastic, so he will need heavy monitoring in a new environment for a bit. He takes calm and firm verbal correction well and is learning "off" and "leave it" commands. Having said that, Roady crates easily and enjoys being in and out of bed during the day on his own. He has done well being confined when adults are out for a couple of hours. Roady gets along well with other medium-sized dogs and follows after his foster brother on walks and visits in the yard. He is a great follower and would love another dog or playmate at home. He does very well on leash. If you are looking for a manageable optimistic, playful dog who can content himself without fuss, Roady will make a wonderful companion for the lucky family that chooses him.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Roscoe, one of two new residents at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue.  Roscoe is a smaller Rottweiler Mix, he’s about one year of age, he has a beautiful, multicolored coat, and he weighs just 36 pounds. He is slightly shy at first but this handsome boy enjoys meeting new people and other nice dogs. Roscoe enjoys engaging with people in the outdoor play yard and he’s a ball-fetcher extraordinaire.  He really likes playing ball and he’d keep going for hours if given the chance. Roscoe had his vaccinations on 1/20/26 and he tested negative for Heart Worm on 4/12/26. We have him started on heart worm prevention and flea/tick meds. Roscoe has already been neutered so he’s ready to find his forever family and have a great summer full of exploration.  If you would like to meet Roscoe, please submit an adoption application under his name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org .   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 11, 2026, 7:16 am

Story
Rags is a very friendly and chill Rottie mix who was luckily rescued by his foster. He was found walking down a median on a busy road in Detroit. Rags currently lives with several other dogs and is very loving and sweet. It appeared he was not very well taken care of when found. He has an overbite which was probably congenital that causes his tongue to stick out. He had heartworm disease when we first got him but he was treated and is now healthy and heartworm negative. Rags is about 75 pounds and estimated to be about 10 years old. Rags has a good personality and would love to finally find a wonderful new family to love and care for him. This fellow definitely deserves it. Please consider making him a new addition to your home or companion for another friendly dog.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Agatha A18504892 lb. spayed female, approx 1 1/2 years old -She loves to sniff and explore while out on walks-She loves to be close for pets and is somewhat of a lap dog-She’s not food motivated it seems…She would eat treats here and there but not all the time. She does know how to sit and give paw.-She went to the toy box and rooted around in it for a little while but never pulled anything out and I could not get her to engage in play-She pulls quite a bit on leash and as strong. A harness is recommended.-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Chicken Nugget A18509750 lb. neutered male, approx 10 months old -If you’re looking for a dog with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life, Chicken Nugget is ready to deliver! This handsome guy was so excited to get out of his kennel that he could hardly contain himself. Once I asked for a firm “sit,” though, he showed just how smart and trainable he is by responding right away.-Chicken Nugget is a large, enthusiastic puppy who approaches life at full speed. He walks fairly well on leash but can pull when something exciting catches his attention. The good news? He’s extremely food motivated and eager to learn. During our time together, he quickly started figuring out that keeping all four paws on the floor earns treats and attention.-Toys are another favorite of his, and his excitement can sometimes get the best of him. With a little guidance, however, he began sitting politely before receiving a toy instead of launching himself toward it. That’s the kind of progress that shows he’s not only smart but also willing to learn when given clear expectations.-When playtime started, Chicken Nugget’s puppy energy was on full display. He zoomed around the yard, bounced from one adventure to the next, and made it clear that he’s still growing into his big body. He’ll occasionally forget his manners when he’s having fun, but he responds well to redirection and benefits from consistent boundaries.-Chicken Nugget is looking for an adopter who will embrace his goofy puppy spirit while continuing the training he’s already started. With structure, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement, this fun-loving boy has all the ingredients to grow into an amazing companion. Right now he’s a jumbo-sized chicken nugget with extra energy—but he’s also a smart, eager student who just needs someone willing to show him the way.
