Oliver is a 2.5-year-old neutered Rottweiler who’s house-trained, knows basic commands, and doesn’t chew on things. He’s generally a very good boy, and well-mannered. He doesn’t need a crate, but we’ll be sending one along with him just in case — plus a 3-month supply of food. That said, Oliver cannot be in a home with small children or small animals. He has shown aggressive behavior toward them and can no longer be trusted in a home like ours, which includes little ones. We are heartbroken to let him go, but safety must come first. We’re also willing to help pay for a professional dog trainer to work on his reactivity and help him adjust to a new, appropriate environment. Meet Karl! Karl is a 4-year-old Rottweiler mix (about 70 lbs) with a heart as big as his bark. Don’t let his voice fool you—this handsome guy is as sweet as they come. He loves nothing more than doing zoomies in the yard, going on long walks where he can sniff every interesting smell, and ending the day with snuggles from his favorite people.Karl is also a true gentleman—he’s not jumpy, and even when he’s running around the yard, he slows down before greeting you with his calm, happy energy. He`s also an absolute angel on the leash! We haven`t had the chance to formally introduce him to another dog here, but what we`ve observed so far is that he`s very calm and not too interested in other dogs or cats. He`s been in close contact with cats on our property and not shown any reaction. The dogs he has gotten close to and has had a good reaction to are some of our calmer dogs. However, we believe that with the correct introductions, Karl could thrive in a home with other siblings whether they be canine, feline or human. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with the perfect mix of playful energy and cuddle-worthy sweetness, Karl is ready to be your guy. Rags is a very friendly and chill Rottie mix who was luckily rescued by his foster. He was found walking down a median on a busy road in Detroit. Rags currently lives with several other dogs and is very loving and sweet. It appeared he was not very well taken care of when found. He has an overbite which was probably congenital that causes his tongue to stick out. He had heartworm disease when we first got him but he was treated and is now healthy and heartworm negative. Rags is about 75 pounds and estimated to be about 10 years old. Rags has a good personality and would love to finally find a wonderful new family to love and care for him. This fellow definitely deserves it. Please consider making him a new addition to your home or companion for another friendly dog.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Buddy, one of two new residents at The Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Rescue. Buddy is a Rottweiler Mix, he’s extremely sweet, I believe him to be about 8 months of age, and he weighs about 45 pounds. He sits patiently in his kennel at mealtime and he is just starting to enjoy going outdoors. We could see that going outdoors is something Buddy had to assess and evaluate for his safety. I don’t think Buddy has had much outdoor time but he’s slowly adapting to this new world. Buddy has a beautiful, short-haired coat. His first Vet appt. in Dexter is scheduled for Tuesday, November 25th. He will have a physical exam, heart worm test, and he will receive other vaccinations at that time. He came to us with some vaccinations and he’s been on flea/tick meds.
