Story
HI!!! My name is Pollo and I'm such an extraordinarily intelligent boy! When I first arrived at FMAR as a stray, over 2 years ago, I was so skinny that you could see my ribs. I've been waiting all this time for someone to come and meet me so I can show them how wonderful I am!Almost everyone thought that I was a Pit Bull Terrier mix but when a volunteer did a DNA test on me, guess what they found?!! In the sunlight, you can really see my Rottie coloring. 52% Rottweiler 27% American Pit Bull Terrier 16% American Staffordshire Terrier 3% American BulldogI have dreams of becoming an agility dog! I have so much fun when the volunteers set up an obstacle course for me! You should see how high I can jump over a hurdle! I also love just hanging out in the yard and relaxing. Sometimes I'm a little nervous meeting new people, but I LOVE treats so give me a couple and I'm your best friend!I need an experienced owner who will challenge my brain and body every day. I like the challenge of eating meals from a Kong Wobbler. If you have children, I hope they are older. I have a whole lot of energy, and may be a bit too much for some families. However, a lot of energy also means a lot of LOVE!If you would like to meet me, please submit an application for me on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. I am neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $250, which covers all of the medical care I have received.*Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. The adoption process may require multiple visits to the shelter before a dog can go home with you. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. One we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Creed is a Rottweiler/ Labrador mix, I adopted him from Lucas canine control. He is a year and a half old. He is up to date on his shots. He will come with a crate, dog food, alot of treats, pet bed, brush and nail clippers. And his flea and tick meds. When I adopted him, I thought I could take care of him. My hours changed at work. Now he is in a crate 9 -10 hours on and off. It's not fair for him. He needs a big backyard to run and play, he is good around kids. He is friendly with other dogs. Likes to play with them. He loves water, bath time is his favorite and also, his doggie pool. Creed is a great dog. He listens and does all his commands. I would like serious inquiries please.

Story
Rags is a very friendly and chill Rottie mix who was luckily rescued by his foster. He was found walking down a median on a busy road in Detroit. Rags currently lives with several other dogs and is very loving and sweet. It appeared he was not very well taken care of when found. He has an overbite which was probably congenital that causes his tongue to stick out. He had heartworm disease when we first got him but he was treated and is now healthy and heartworm negative. Rags is about 72 pounds and estimated to be about 8 years old. Rags has a good personality and would love to finally find a wonderful new family to love and care for him. This fellow definitely deserves it. Please consider making him a new addition to your home or companion for another friendly dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Amber is a 6 1/2 year old Rottweiler that needs a new home after her parents passing. She is fixed, UTD vaccines and 111lbs. On May 23 she had knee surgery and is recovering very well. She is very gentle but unsure of strangers and take time to warm up to new people She is untested with children, dogs or cats. Please help her find her new home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. July 26, 2024, 2:17 am

Story
Apply at www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/sms-a-50 A few months ago, we rescued our incredibly frightened yet endearing Nova from the Romulus Animal Shelter. Nova had been seen in the area, eluding capture for about three months before she was finally secured. We managed to rescue her just one day before her scheduled euthanasia. Nova has made significant progress but remains very wary of people. Adding to this little lady's challenging story, she tested positive for heartworm. She had formed a bond with another dog, Sky, at her foster home and was beginning to unwind when, sadly, Sky died unexpectedly. Her foster mother has been providing her with extra care and assurance that all is well. Having received treatment, Nova is now in search of a place to call home. The rescue organization will cover the treatment costs in full. We are looking for a tranquil home for her, ideally with a retired individual, where there is minimal chaos and someone is frequently present to shower her with affection throughout the day. Nova is incredibly sweet and will quickly become affectionate.
