Adoption fee: $650 Meet BonBon: A Tenderhearted Little Survivor Learning to Shine   BonBon is a 1–2 year old, 9-pound Shih Tzu mix with a gentle soul and the sweetest, most devoted personality. She was rescued from a hoarding situation alongside five of her canine friends, and while her early life left her coat neglected and her confidence shaken, she is now on a beautiful journey of healing. Her fur is growing back in nicely— still a bit patchy in places— but every day she looks and feels more like the happy little dog she was always meant to be.   Daily Life with BonBon BonBon thrives on routine and finds comfort in the rhythm of her day. She typically wakes up around 6:30 a.m. for a potty walk, followed by breakfast around 7:00 (sometimes closer to 8:00 if she prefers a slower start). She enjoys a short midday walk between 10:00 a.m. and noon, another outing in the late afternoon, and dinner around 8:00 p.m., with a final quick potty run before bedtime.   She truly enjoys her walks and quietly takes in the world around her. BonBon naturally stays close to her person—often right at your heel— more out of loyalty and caution than anything else. She doesn’t pull, chase wildlife, or bark at other dogs. Instead, she prefers to observe and stay safely by your side.   Personality & Temperament BonBon is a very sweet little dog who forms deep bonds once she feels safe. When she first arrived in her foster home, she was understandably nervous and needed a day or two to adjust. With patience, gentle encouragement, and a few tasty treats, she began to relax and show her true personality.   She is a classic Velcro dog and an enthusiastic cuddler. BonBon is happiest when she knows exactly where her person is— ideally within a couple of feet at all times. She’ll patiently wait outside the bathroom door, follow you from room to room, and melt into your lap for head scritches whenever the opportunity arises. Her devotion is touching, and her soulful eyes make it nearly impossible to resist giving her a little extra love.   Because her skin is still healing and she is naturally sensitive, she may tremble at times— whether she’s nervous, excited, happy, or simply chilly. She is especially wary of unfamiliar sights like people carrying bags or pushing carts, but with reassurance and time, she continues to build confidence.   And while she may be shy, BonBon definitely has opinions—especially about food. She is a proud connoisseur of salmon and chicken wet food and has made it very clear that dry kibble is not on her current menu. If the preferred cuisine is unavailable, she is fully prepared to stage a quiet protest until better options appear.   Social Life BonBon is gentle and non-aggressive with both people and other dogs. She may be cautious at first, but she warms up within an hour or so once she realizes she is safe.   Activity Level BonBon is more of a couch potato than a party animal. She enjoys short walks and occasional bursts of excitement, but she is not particularly interested in toys or rough-and-tumble play. When she feels unsure, her instinct is to seek comfort and closeness rather than entertainment. Her favorite activity is simply being near her person.   She has lovely house manners overall—she does not chew, dig, or get into mischief, even when left alone. She is also very quiet, rarely barking except occasionally when someone comes directly to the door.   BonBon prefers cozy spaces over crates and would much rather curl up in a soft bed or snuggle on the couch beside her favorite person.   Ideal Home BonBon would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. A gentle dog sibling could be a wonderful influence, helping her feel more secure in new situations. She doesn’t need a large home or a busy lifestyle—just a patient family who appreciates quiet companionship and understands that trust takes time.   Most of all, she needs a home where she will be cherished, reassured, and given the chance to blossom into the confident little dog she is already becoming.   Why We Love BonBon BonBon has a remarkable capacity for love. She checks on her person when they move around the house, makes sure everyone is okay, and offers comfort simply by being close. And she has a charmingly funny quirk—she believes that singing is some kind of emergency. If her person starts to sing, she rushes over immediately, climbs into their lap, and stays there until the “distress call” ends.   She is gentle, devoted, and incredibly endearing—a tiny survivor with a huge heart who is ready to find her forever person and stay right by their side.April 17, 2026, 6:38 pm

Story
Nirai (means calm) and her 4 friends were all dumped in the streets of Fremont. They were all neglected dirty and very matted. She is more timid and nervous than the others. Needs more time to decompress and feel safe at her foster home. The shelter had her shaved down since she was severely matted (See my before and after picture!). She is now relaxing at her foster home. More photos and info to come as she learns and feels safe. 1/20/26 Foster Home Update: She was scared for the first two days but now she is a completely different dog. She sleeps very well through the night in her crate is potty trained and already knows how to use the doggie door to go to the backyard for her business. She is good with other dogs though she doesn’t play with them much yet. She is also great with my 5-year-old son. She loves human company more than dogs for now. She plays with my son and my husband sleeps on our laps and loves belly rubs. She also seems fine when we leave her at home for a few hours. I’m feeding her home-cooked food and she loves carrots and treats. See how happy she is now in the links below! Watch my video #1Watch my video #2 3/17/26 Foster Home Update: She is good with other dogs but gets a little bit possessive and is attached to me. But overall she is great with small dogs. Ok with big dogs too as I do pet sitting but doesn't like when they are hyperactive. She is the sweetest dog. so easy going fully trained. Whoever adopts her will be lucky to have her. Nirai loves running and playing in the backyard.April 17, 2026, 12:40 pm

Story
Luigi is a sweet senior Shih Tzu who’s ready to level up your life. This senior gentleman has still got plenty of extra lives left — especially when it comes to neighborhood walks and making new dog friends. He enjoys companionship (both human and canine), and he’s happiest when he’s part of the team. Whether he’s trotting along on a stroll or powering up with a cozy nap afterward, Luigi keeps things steady, cheerful, and low-drama. No boss battles here — just a loyal sidekick with a soft heart and a wagging tail. Ready to press start on your next adventure? Luigi is waiting to join your player two. Here's some notes from his foster: Luigi is the easiest dog! He is not demanding and in fact he is a bit shy and reserved. No puppy energy – instead sweet and calm. Every day he gets a bit more attached and interactive with me. After years of working with reactive dogs it’s a fun and stress-free pleasure to know Luigi gets along with everyone (dogs and human) we meet – both at home and out in the neighborhood. He is very spry for his age and likes walking down hill – uphill he is slow but steady. I live in an apartment and he has been good about getting in and out of the elevator, and walking up and down 8 steps (slowly). He’s house trained and has been 99% accident free. He prefers to sleep in his own bed – his soft snores are soothing - All in all a great dog.

Story
Meet Mika! She is a soft, sweet senior who believes love is best shared from a comfy lap. This super senior sweetheart has officially retired from the hustle and bustle and is now accepting applications for her dream job: professional lap warmer. Mika is an absolute angel who believes life’s greatest joys are soft blankets, cozy laps, and quiet companionship. She can happily coexist with other dogs, but like any wise lady who’s earned her gray hairs, she appreciates a little personal space and peaceful vibes. Walks? Totally optional in Mika’s book. She’d much rather spend her time relaxing beside you, soaking up love, and giving those gentle senior snuggles that make everything feel calmer. If you’re looking for a lowkey best friend who just wants to love you and lounge, Mika is ready to be your perfect little shadow!
