If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     Adoption Fee: $700 Breed: Shih Tzu–Poodle mix Age: ~2 years old Weight: ~14 lbs Coat: Non-shedding Rescued from the shelter Meet Rustic, a sweet and soulful Shih-Poo who’s equal parts mellow couch buddy and curious little thinker. At about 2 years old and 14 pounds, Rustic is the definition of calm companionship. His ideal day includes long naps, quiet moments beside you in the kitchen or office, and plenty of relaxing in the shade. Rustic came to us from the shelter and has been adjusting beautifully to home life. He’s completely house-trained, hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home, and sleeps through the night in his pen—as long as he knows he’s not completely alone. He’s not a fan of crates and would prefer a cozy bed near you or in the same room. His foster nicknamed him “McGyver” because he’s so clever—yes, he can climb out of an x-pen, but he usually doesn’t if he feels safe and settled. This gentle boy is good with people and polite with other dogs, although he starts out a bit shy. He’ll happily let another dog do the sniff-and-greet and observe quietly before joining in. He’s still building confidence on leash, but he’s getting the hang of it and enjoys his short walks. Toys? Not his thing. He’s more of a “you go get it” guy when a ball is tossed—but he might surprise you one day. Rustic doesn’t shed and has a soft, low-maintenance coat. He hasn’t had a bath in foster care yet, but he’s been easygoing about everything else, so grooming should be a breeze with a gentle approach. He did great on a car ride in a crate but would likely prefer a doggy seatbelt next time so he can look around and be near you. This sensitive pup is still building his confidence. He takes time to observe new people, environments—even TV shows (he once watched a golf match with intense focus and let out a few soft barks when a questionable club choice was made). He wants to be near his person and is happiest when he knows he’s not alone. With time and a consistent routine, he’ll grow more secure. Rustic would do best in a calm home with someone who’s around often or works from home. He doesn’t need constant activity—just companionship, consistency, and a gentle hand to help him keep blooming into his best self. If you're looking for a quiet, loving, and thoughtful pup to share your days and your heart, Rustic is ready to find his person.Note from first foster home: I could actually leave him in his crate as long as the other dogs were downstairs with him. So I think he would enjoy having a doggie friend for support. But otherwise great.  He is such a snuggle bug and I think once he finds his long term family and security, he will become more confident and be ok with being left alone. It just takes time and love.June 12, 2025, 4:38 am

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     Adoption Fee: $600 Meet Lumi – Sweet, Sensitive, and Ready for Her Match Age: 4 years old Breed: Shih Tzu x Poodle Weight: 18 lbs Coat: Non-shedding, low-allergy (and yes, ridiculously cute) Lumi is soft. In her coat, in her personality, and in the way she looks at you when she’s figuring out if you’re her person. She’s not the kind of dog who bursts into a room like a party cannon—but give her a little time and consistency, and she’ll be the quiet, loving shadow at your side. She’s the perfect companion for someone who enjoys a calm, cozy home and appreciates the little wins—like when she hops onto the couch for a cuddle or greets you with her signature dorky, toothy grin and full-body tail wiggle. Why Lumi might be your perfect match: She's crate trained and mostly potty trained She’s affectionate, cuddly, and happiest when she knows she’s safe She doesn't need a ton of exercise—she’d take lounging in a sunny spot over a dog park any day She’s food motivated and responds really well to calm guidance She does best as the only dog, soaking up all the love She's great with structure and settles beautifully when she knows what to expect What kind of home suits her best? Lumi thrives with people who bring steady energy and a little confidence to the table. Maybe you’ve just settled into your first apartment, working remotely, walking to your favorite café, building your own rhythm—and now you’re looking for the perfect dog to join you in that next chapter. Lumi could be that dog. She’s not looking for chaos or a crowd, but she’s totally content with a life of walks, couch time, and quiet company. She would do best in a home without young kids, and while she can pass by dogs just fine, she prefers to be the star of your show at home. From her foster: “Lumi has been very cooperative and agreeable during her stay. Even when a few dogs barked at her on a walk, she didn’t lose her cool. You could tell she noticed, but she kept her composure. That’s who she is—when she feels supported, she rises to the occasion.” Bottom line: Lumi doesn’t need fixing. She just needs the right match—someone who will meet her where she is and appreciate her gentle spirit. She's the kind of dog who builds a quiet, deep bond that gets better every day. She’s not for everyone, but she might be just right for you.June 12, 2025, 4:38 am

Story
Libby (4 years old, 11 pounds)  has a warm, affectionate, and loyal personality. She’s a playful social butterfly, always eager to make new friends—human or canine. Her enthusiasm for life makes her the kind of dog who brings energy and joy wherever she goes, always ready for a game of chase or tug-of-war. Despite her playful side, Libby is also a devoted cuddle bug. She thrives on affection, happily curling up next to her favorite person whenever given the chance. Whether snuggling on the couch, resting her head on your lap, or leaning against you for comfort, she’s always seeking connection. Libby's loyal and shadow-like nature means she follows her favorite person everywhere, watching them closely as if she were their little guardian. Whether you’re walking from room to room or heading out for an adventure, she’s right there, wagging her tail, ready to be by your side. She’s the perfect mix of fun-loving, affectionate, and loyal, making her an irresistible companion who brings laughter, warmth, and love into every moment. Energy Level?  Medium- she's playful and enjoys long walks but loves downtime.  House trained?  Partially. She will go potty outside when taken out but hasn't gone potty on walks and has had a few accidents while adjusting to her foster home. Describe how they are on leash?  She's a fast walker! She was a little shy at first, walking behind me, but has slowly become more confident and loves walking with the resident dog, who she is happy to allow to lead.  Describe how they are with other dogs?  She's very excited to see other dogs and is very friendly and playful.  Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  She is long with another dog and gets along with him. At times, she lets him know her boundaries but nothing overly aggressive.  Commands they know?  No. Off. Come. Maybe sit.  What are their favorite things?  Treats. Kissing her favorite people.  What do they need to work on?  Potty training, jumping on tables, and confidence—not following to every room.  How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  Only for a few hours so far, but she was good. She is also okay in a crate. Where do they sleep?  She sleeps in her crate (she seems to like it) and will join us in bed towards the morning.  What is their ideal home?  In a perfect world, one family member would be a remote worker or not leave the house as often, although she doesn't have signs of separation anxiety. She would do well with grass in a secured yard and another friendly dog. She may also do well with kids as she loves to play and doesn't seem to have any aggression. She needs someone willing to reinforce potty training and give her lots of chew bones since she likes to chew. Someone who loves sweet, soft cuddles and a loyal companion. Story
Roxy is playful and likes playing fetch. She is not spayed. She does not like being approached by dogs or people when on a leash. She is very affectionate and likes going for walks. She does have an umbilical hernia that would be removed if spayed. It has not caused her any problems. The vet told me she was healthy and a good weight at her last visit this February. She is up to date on all shots.
