Hi!  My name is KiKi and I am looking for a forever home. I was part of an operation to rescue over 80 small dogs in order to put a backyard breeder out of operation as we were not being very well taken care of.  One of those rescues reached out to BCAA to see if they could help some of us and they said yes ... yeah!  We were all pretty scared when we first came into foster but everyone has been so nice to us and with some TLC and time, we are slowly coming out of our shells.  I would love to find a  quiet home, maybe with a friend or two to help me learn the ropes. My foster was told I was supposed to be a shihtzu mix but not sure what with; based on my size, the shihtzu might be correct but several folks say I have the head and coat of a King Charles Cavalier (they were also at the breeder's place).   I weigh just a little over 10lbs and at around 2y ears old, I shouldn't get any bigger.  I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and even share a crate with a couple of my friends without any issues (we all eat side-by-side without any resource guarding).  We have done well in our crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any of our bedding as long as we are able to get outside regularly.  I have never had a leash on before & they do scare me so I will need a physically fenced yard in order to take care of my business.  If you would like to meet me or one of my friends, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! This shi tzu mix is using this opportunity to charm everyone in his foster home- even the cat (who has a history of violence). His foster brother, Marley, and he are good buds, and his spirited antics don't even bother the resident hound. Crockett loves everyone (except backyard chickens), and has enjoyed his week of zipping around on the crust of the snow. Stairs don't bother this furry athlete, who runs around outside but is fairly sedate indoors, with occasional forays into squeaky-toy play and a concentration in following mom to the toilet. Crockett is 8 years old,18 lbs of curly fur, fully housebroken and treat motivated (he jumps for them!). If you're looking for a Robin to your Batman, he's your guy, especially if you don't mind sharing the bed in the Batcave (he'll need a boost to get up there).
