EMERGENCY FOSTER NEEDED — Bentley Needs Peace, Not Another Goodbye Foster to adopt is always an option Bentley’s whole world was torn apart when he lost his human unexpectedly. One moment he had his person, his routine, his safety — and the next, everything he knew was gone. He was surrendered to us not because he wasn’t loved, but because there was no one left who could keep him. Bentley is a 10-12 year-young, 26-lb sweetheart with the soul of a grumpy old man and the heart of the biggest snuggle bug you’ll ever meet. He lounges like a pro, snores like a freight train, and insists on having some part of his body touching his human at all times. That’s where he feels safe. He is completely potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, loves being outdoors, and gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, kids, and even chickens (yes, really!). Bentley has some vision loss, but he compensates incredibly well — he does stairs, navigates confidently, and just needs a little patience and consistency. He does require daily eye medication, and he’ll need someone willing to help him with that simple routine. Bentley has separation anxiety — understandable after losing the person he loved most — and he truly needs a quiet, calm home with someone who can spend a lot of time with him. A single person or couple would be ideal. He does not like being crated and needs to sleep in the same space as his human at night to feel secure. Because of his eye issues, a home without small children is best. Bentley’s dream foster home:• Quiet, peaceful environment• Someone home often• Couch time, gentle routines, and lots of reassurance• A heart willing to help him feel safe again Bentley doesn’t need perfection. He needs peace. He needs stability. He needs someone who won’t leave. If you can open your home — even temporarily — and be Bentley’s calm place while he heals, please step forward. Being his emergency foster could change his life and help him believe in love again. He's being temporary fostered in Nazareth, PAhttps://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/become-a-foster/  ##2613524##

Story
**$709.5 in pledges for the rescue that pulls** **Interested fosters through rescue!** **EXTENDED!** Kobe Pawkins ACCT-A-227035 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical and behavioral concerns. Kobe Pawkins must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or EXPERIENCED ADOPTER by FRIDAY, JANUARY 16TH at 10AM. Should Kobe Pawkins’s medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Kobe Pawkins is a 13-year-old senior dog who was surrendered to ACCT Philly due to the cost of care not having enough time for him. Described by his owner as “the perfect grumpy old man”, Kobe required sedation to be shaved, vaccinated, and to receive other medical care, which became expensive over time. He enjoyed going on walks, hanging out with his owner, napping, and playing with squeaky toys and plush toys. At the shelter, Kobe remains uncomfortable with handling. He was able to be vaccinated with a towel, but required sedation for a full exam. This exam revealed dental issues and a mass near his upper premolars. Kobe had a few teeth that were able to be removed by simple elevation, but he will likely need additional extractions. He also has a Grade IV/VI heart murmur. His blood work had no significant findings. Due to his medical and behavioral concerns, Kobe is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or experienced adopter. VIDEOS: Kobe Pawkins and Bacon Egg and Cheese Meet and Kobe getting some pets: https://youtube.com/shorts/kRHyc4bKTUg?feature=share Per staff 1/13: I was asked to help get a dog meet for Kobe. He was in the top side bank. I was able to leash with a large leash. He tried jumping out past me when I got the leash open. With notes about him not able to be touched. I used the Chair and put it under his kennel so he could jump from there and then to the floor. When he got to the floor he was limping on the left front paw. Dr did see him walk and will prescribe some pain meds. He was aloof meeting the dog they went face to face and had no reaction just turned away. Per staff 1/10: Tense, lunging and air snapping for medical treatments. Spoke with veterinarian and recommending a sedated exam. Was able to vaccinate using a towel, when taking the towel off dog lunged and air snapped at me. Per owner 1/6: Fully housebroken, has never been crated, low-medium energy, walks calmly with no pulling. He sleeps in a dog bed or blanket on the floor. His favorite treats are Rachael Ray Nutrish Burger Bites Beef & Bison. His favorite toys are squeaky toys and plush toys. He enjoys going for walks, napping, hanging out with owners, and being petted. Behavior concerns: He is reactive/aggressive towards strangers. Bite history: “Kobe was sitting on my sister in laws lap. She put her face in front of his and he bit her lip. I believe he was over stimulated. We had guests and it was late and our house is usually just us and he’s asleep by 8pm.” His reaction towards strangers and children depends on the situation. He is neutral towards other dogs and cats. “Kobe is aggressive towards groomers. He has to go to the animal hospital to be sedated and shaved. He does not let vets examine him. He normally get his vaccinations when he’s asleep for his sedated shave.” Ideal home: Someone older, quiet home with his own place to sleep. He would be a perfect fit for a retired person. He would need be homed with someone who has the financial ability to get him the best possible care. No kids. Kids may be too high strung for him. Favorite thing about him: He’s the perfect grumpy old man. Per owner 1/6: Kobe is old, he has trouble walking, he struggles getting up & down stairs. Walking is painful. He won’t let me groom him, he won’t let doctors examine him. He tries to bite when handled. I’m unable to afford the care he needs. I’m away from home more than 12 hrs a day. I just can’t care for him anymore & I feel like he’s suffering. I need help. I have tried to rehome him on numerous sites but have been told he’s too old or his behavioral issues are too much. Personality: Anxious, nervous, not social, low energy Best thing about him: He’s quiet Bite history: Was sitting on my sister in laws lap. Unprovoked he bit her on her lip. Blood was drawn. Behavior concerns: He’s aggressive when touched. Example he cannot get examined by a vet, or get groomed by a groomer. He has to be medically sedated & not only is that expensive but it’s not good for his health.
