He's fully house broken and sleeps all night in his crate. This little guy is very quiet and gentle, and takes his medication nicely. He's happy to relax on the floor by your feet, or snuggle next to you on the sofa. Waldo does nicely on the leash and enjoys short walks every day. He likes gentle pets and nuzzles while being held, and follows his foster all over the house. Waldo's perfect home will be a calm and mostly quiet environment, with a nurturing and attentive family who will embrace his medical needs and not leave him home alone often. He would do fine with children 12+ who respect his medical condition, but a household with young children is not advised. While he's not a dog that will play fetch or run around the yard with you, Waldo is the perfect guy if you're looking for a calm and gentle lap dog to be your companion. Hi!  My name is Maddie and I am looking for a forever home.  I was surrendered to a small rescue along with a few of my friends after our owners were unable to continue taking care of us (please, no bad comments as they did keep our two 15-year old friends).  Fortunately, BCAA heard about us and said they would help all of us  ... yeah!  I am a little shy when first meeting new people but my foster mom and friends have been really nice and now I love getting held and attention.  I appear to be a shihtzu mix and while I am a little older at around 8-years old, I have a lot of spunk and that just means I'm passed all of that puppy foolishness.  I'm on the smaller side at under 15lbs so I will fit just about anywhere.  I have gotten along with the other dogs I have met and while I will bark at the cats when I'm in my crate and they prance in front of me, I have ignored them when I come across them.  While I would much prefer to be out with you, I have done really well in my crate overnight without any accidents or tearing up of my bedding (I will let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you).  Once I trust you, I enjoy going for walks do pretty good on a leash.  I love my food and treats which I take gently.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Kimora’s a 10yo 10lb Shih Tzu mix. She’s dog and kid friendly. She’s housebroken when kept on a schedule and her people are alert to her signs. She is left in an Xpen with pee pads when foster goes out since she is blind. She is used to a fenced in yard which makes it easier since she is blind. She likes cuddling next to her people on the sofa and loves getting pets especially enjoys getting her head and ears rubbed. She will follow her person around the house then other times she will go off on her own, climb up soft steps onto the sofa, curl up and sleep. She will bark if she wants to get down. Kimora MUST have people who understand caring for a blind dog. If your home DOES NOT fit this please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone not a fit. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Kimora is almost completely blind. She does see some light and reacts if you put your hand towards her face. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently fostered in Feasterville, PA. Meet Cora! Cora is a 7 year old Shih tzu looking for her forever home!  Cora is super friendly.  She's been attached to her foster since the beginning. We believe she will be the same with her forever home.  She still hasn't fully discovered grass.  She loves to run around on the patio and sidewalk.  The only time she's walked out into the yard is when she follows her foster.  She would do well with other dogs in the family.  She doesn't care for the leash but is working on leash training.
