Story
Meet Goldilock. She came in as a breeder release. This means she has spent her life in a kennel having babies. Due to this she is just now learning to be a dog and needs someone willing to be patient with her as she learns. When she first came into the rescue, she was scared to the point of paralysis. Since then she continues to come out of her shell and really learn who she is a dog and what she enjoys doing. She loves being outside in the yard sniffing around. Being outside in the yard is also when you really see her silly personality come out. She will do the puppy bow and prance around the yard and loves to be chased. Because of this, having a fenced-in yard is requested but not required. She has had no accidents in the house and has only gone potty outside. While in the house, she is calm and gentle. She spends the majority of the time in the house laying on one of her dog beds. She will come up and sniff me and allow me to pet her. She does shed, but she lets me brush her. She got groomed so there are some before and after pictures with her new haircut! She weighs about 43 pounds.  She is just the sweetest and most gentle girl! Are you up for the adventure with Goldilock as she discovers who she is outside of a kennel? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hi I'm Mr Whipple!  I'm a gorgeous boy who's always ready for fun!  I adore toys, but do need toys that are size appropriate.  I get a little too excited about them and my foster mama is afraid I might accidentally swallow them if they're too small.  I love racing around with them in my mouth and playing keep away from my doggie friends.  I've also been known to steal my friends blankies and run around with them too.  I'm fun and sneaky haha!  I've never had toys before so once the newness wears off I'll likely calm down on all the toy stealing.  I can be a bit shy in new places and with new people.  The secret is to get down closer to my level when we meet and I'll walk up and probably give you kisses!  That's my loveable side shining through!  My greatest weakness is ear scratches.  I just melt!  I'm doing well with potty and kennel training.  I've just begun trying that leash thing and it's a bit scary since I've never seen one before.  For now I need a fence for that reason, but I'm going to keep working on it because foster mom says I'm going to love being able to go on walks where I can explore the world because she says she can see a true adventurer in me.  Let's explore the world together! I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) for an Adoption Event on Sunday May 19th 12:00-1:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Hey there, I'm Phillip, your potential new best buddy! Let me tell you a little about myself. At home, I'm all about love and cuddles. I'm sweet, eager to please, and always up for some quality couch time while we watch TV together. I might startle easily at sudden noises, but I'm getting better at adjusting to new sounds and situations. And guess what? I'm a total foodie! Treats are my jam, especially if you're tossing them for me to chase. Now, when it comes to outdoor adventures, I'm slowly but surely gaining confidence. Short walks around the neighborhood are becoming more enjoyable, and I'm getting the hang of this whole leash thing. While I may bark at strangers passing by, I promise I'm just trying to protect my home turf! I do require a fenced yard in my forever home, I have a lot of energy and a yard would be perfect for me to have the freedom to do zoomies and sniff all the wonderful outside things. While I'm not exactly a social butterfly with other dogs, I think I'd do best as the only furry friend in the house. But hey, if you've got a calm, low-energy doggy companion, I'm open to giving it a try as I do enjoy other dogs once we are introduced.  What else can I say about myself? Well, I'm a playful guy who loves chasing toys and racing around the yard. And did I mention I'm smart? I'm eager to learn new tricks and skills, so if you're up for some training sessions, count me in! We are learning to play fetch … well I’m learning, my people know how already. I love to chase toys, but sometimes act like a clown and forget to bring them back. Overall, I'm just a charming, loving, and funny fella who's on the lookout for his perfect match. If you're seeking a loyal companion who's equal parts cuddly and playful, then look no further—I'm your guy! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
Poor Ivan was found on the side of a busy highway when a concerned animal lover rescued him from harm. Obviously, thrown away like so many on the island...They reached out to our rescue partner in PR for help when they had nowhere else to turn. Ivan is a happy dog who is always playing with other dogs and just as loveable as can be. He's as sweet as he looks and we can't wait to find him a forever home. We are working to get Ivan to MN by 5/18...

Story
Please welcome Mr. Tumnus, or Mister to his friends! This handsome young man comes to The Rescue Crew from his hometown of Minneapolis, where he ended up hanging out with Animal Control.  Fast forward to today and Mister is busy learning all about the home life! He loves to play in the yard, and has discovered the wonders of human affection. In fact, he loves his time with people so much that he let his foster know that his dream is to have a human all to himself. Hey, sharing's not for everyone. Mister thrives on his enthusiasm for life. As he learns about all the good things life has to offer, he can't help but to tell the world how happy he is (shared walls are not for him). This happy-go-lucky canine thinks the world is all for him and him alone, and he is hoping for a home that will share his love of adventure and joy for life while also providing structure and enrichment activities.  ##1892153##
