Story
Male, ~3 years old, ~40 lbs. Approximate Age: ~3 years old   Approximate Weight/Size: Medium   Good with: Dogs   Not tested with: Cats, Kids   Hi, I'm Acorn! I am a gorgeous, polite, and gentle dog who loves to run. I am very gentle and shy, but when I'm around other dogs I perk right up and can play for hours. I can be nervous when I meet new people and definitely prefer the great outdoors to being cooped up inside. A quiet neighborhood with a yard would be best since many sounds from the city still scare me. I really love other pups and I will do best in a home with another confident pup who can show me the ropes and help me build my confidence within the house. I also need an experienced and patient family who will give me time to come out of my shell. I respond well to affection and I will reward my new family with the sweetest personality on the planet. Even though I'm still learning how to heel, sit, etc. I really love going on walks and it's great for my mental health. I have been described as "clean, quiet, not destructive, with a perfect energy level." I must say, I'm a pretty great pup and   I can't wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give!     Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrdr Interested in adopting a rescue dog? Story
Male, ~12 months old, ~56 lbs. Approximate Age: ~12 months old   Approximate Weight/Size: Medium   Good with: Dogs, Cats, Kids   Hi, I'm Brownie! I'm a sweet pup who loves meeting new people and playing with other dogs at the dog park. I am outgoing and lovable and I enjoy getting ample exercise and sniffs around the neighborhood. Once I've had my walks and some time at the dog park, I'm a total cuddle bug. I am also super smart and easily trainable. I like car rides but I can get a little startled with loud city noises. I love to run so the dog park is one of my favorite places. I would even make a great running partner! I could use some leash training before that, however. I am crate trained and enjoy eating, sleeping, chewing toys, and generally hanging out in there. I am a try hound -- always sniffing around the ground and even sometimes, unauthorized, on the counter. I'm a loving pup and I can't wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give!     Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrdr Interested in adopting a rescue dog? Geneva is a 7 year old, 65lb treeing walker coonhound.  She has overcome much to get where she is and is ready for a forever home!  She's a cuddle bug who loves to crawl into bed with you and play around with other dogs like she's a puppy.  She does get the zoomies at home but some ball throws or a Himalayan cheese stick and she starts to settle down.  She is good with kids but not with cats as all she wants to do is chase them and play which can be a difficult situation for them.  She does need some work on command training but she is a quick learner!   PAW places animals in the Washington, DC/Baltimore Metropolitan area only. ##1147393##

Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/12605Hi! My name is Sunshine and I'm coming up to OPH on 4/21/23. I am part of the "Bring in the Spring" transport.I’m guessed to be a Beagle mix and estimated to be about 3 years old. I’m a sweet gal and I currently weigh about 25 lbs.I’m a bonded pair with my bestie Mopsy! I am very comfortable right away with new people, but Mopsy gets nervous so I like to show her everything will be okay! We do everything together - eat, sleep, and most importantly cuddle! I love to lay on my back and get pets! I was an outside dog so I am learning my inside manners - and I am a fast learner! I am getting very good about going to the bathroom outside but I have a hard time holding it so I need to be kept on a schedule and go outside as soon as I leave my crate. I have a lot of energy, so when I get excited I love to wrestle with Mopsy and play with any toy I see. Once I get my energy out, I love to curl up right next to my human and take a nap. I have a lot of love to give and am looking for my forever home! I'm springing my way north in search of my new family. Is that with you? If so apply today because this cuteness won’t be around for long!
