Story
If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. If you want a loyal companion with an old soul and endless love to share, come meet this wonderful boy.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving this boy the years of his life as your best sidekick ever   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 12, 2026, 9:57 am

He will have accidents if he is not crated and is alone for more then 8 hours. KNOWN LIKES: kisses, people, dogs, cuddler- KNOWN DISLIKES: ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Tony is a soulful 2-year-old hound with the sweetest eyes and an even sweeter heart. Weighing about 50 pounds, Tony has been through more than his share — he ended up in a high-kill shelter after likely being abandoned when he didn’t make the cut as a hunting dog. But despite it all, Tony has remained gentle, loving, and quietly hopeful for a second chance. Tony is: ✅ Great with other dogs – friendly, respectful, and easy to have around ✅ Housetrained – no messes, no stress ✅ Loves people – affectionate ✅ Quiet and easygoing – no excessive barking, just peaceful companionship This boy has a calm presence and a heart full of love. He’s happy to curl up beside you after a walk or just relax and soak up the peace of home life — something he’s been missing for far too long. Tony doesn’t need much — just a safe place, a soft bed, and someone to love him. After surviving the odds at a crowded shelter, he’s ready for a fresh start. His foster says the following: He is a sweet, not aggressive dog who defers to other dogs and plays well. He loves a stuffy toy! He comes when called, is affectionate and is happy to be petted. He is learning to live in a house with new noises and smells and rules. He listens well and knows “no” and walks well on a leash after some initial excitement. He has a funny personality with a small vocal moan when he is ready to go to sleep! He grins and has a cute way of sitting with a paw lifted up like he is waiting for someone to shake his paw!! He goes into his crate and doesn’t cry or bark. He loves running and exploring the woods (in a fenced yard) and comes back to the door once he has finished roaming. Smart boy!! Story
Current Location: Bel Air, MD Are you looking for an adorable, low key, quiet companion for your serene home? Do you enjoy slow strolls to take in the sights and stop to smell the roses? Or perhaps have a chill dog who would like a buddy? Quincy could be your guy. He is a sweet, docile, quiet boy who's a bit nervous about all the changes. Yet, he wants connection. He comes up for pets once he trusts you. He sniffs new, calm people. He may lean gently against your leg or settle right on your foot like he is testing the waters of trust. He is simply a thoughtful soul who likes to understand the room before fully stepping in. Personality Quincy is loveable, gentle, and wonderfully quiet. New sounds or quick movements can make him a little uncertain, but he recovers quickly and keeps trying. Once he feels safe, he enjoys soft petting and companionship. He will seek out his person and seems comforted by being near you. He is easy to harness, leash, and guide. And yes. He is SO cute. His super soft, fluffy fur makes it almost impossible not to reach down and give him a gentle scratch. Home Life Quincy is house trained and crate trained. He prefers being out with his people but settles quietly in his crate when needed. He may even do fine uncrated for reasonable periods, as he has shown lovely house manners so far. Indoors, he is calm. He finds a cozy nook, curls up on a quiet bed, and naps peacefully. He has not attempted to claim the furniture. He seems to like having his own safe little spot. He enjoys stuffy toys and has shown sweet little bursts of joy when he plays. Walks and Social Life Sniffy walks and time outside are his favorite. He is excellent on leash and loves a slow pace where he can stop and smell everything. He truly wants to take in the world one scent at a time. He gets along well with the resident dog. They played briefly and also coexisted calmly. He seems to enjoy canine company. Ideal Home Quincy would thrive in a quieter, calmer home. Cities or busy areas would not be his jam. He needs gentle people who understand that trust is built step by step. Give him patience and kindness, and he will absolutely win you over. He is fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, negative for illness, and has a clean bill of health. Quincy is not loud or flashy. He is soft, steady, and quietly brave. And for the right person, he will be something truly special. Apply to bring this cutie home!

Six weeks old, beagle mixed, and blessed with the most glorious floppy ears, rich tan and gold markings, crisp white accents, and fashionable black detailing, these puppies arrived looking like they were dressed for a season debut. Lady Whistledown would absolutely approve. Meet FrancescaFrancesca is the social butterfly of the Bridgerton litter and she has absolutely no interest in playing it cool. She loves everyone, she loves everything, and the moment you reach down to give her pets she lights up like you have made her entire day. Much like her namesake, Francesca has a warmth and openness about her that draws people in immediately. She is the puppy who will have you saying yes before you even realize what happened.

He loves people, he loves life, and he approaches every interaction with an open heart and a wagging tail. He is also, through no fault of his own, Benedict's most frequent target. He takes it in stride with the kind of easy good nature that makes you adore him immediately. Colin is the puppy who will get along with absolutely everyone and make his new family feel like the luckiest people in the world.
