Hi, I'm Lilly and I'm adorable! I'm such a sweet little girl. I'm probably a Jack Russell terrier/beagle mix. I'm about 4 months old and weigh about 10lbs now. I'll probably be about 20-25 lbs when full grown. I'm so cute and I love my toys. Sometimes I carry 2 toys in my mouth at the same time. I'm very playful and love other dogs. I live with some big dogs now. Sometimes they step on me accidentally. But I'm a good sport about it. I love to be snuggled and to be with my humans. I was given up by my elderly owner because I had too much energy. I'm already vaccinated, spayed and microchippped. I'm being fostered in Fairfax, VA. I can be adopted to the DC metro area, the Richmond area and the Harrisonburg area. My adoption fee is $350. This handsome fellow is good with people, but he has never learned how to play with other dogs. He’s walking well on a harness and leash. He loves going on walks (where he won't encounter other dogs) and he’s shown that he enjoys going for a swim in the water. Farley loves getting one-on-one attention. Due to his history (see below), he will never be a dog that can go to a dog park, but he would love a fenced backyard to run and play in. If you’d like to have a single dog to cuddle and have no cats in your home, Farley would be a perfect buddy for you. Farley spent nearly all his life at the end of a chain. He was attacked by an animal, perhaps a dog, and received terrible injuries on his neck. Due to his history, Farley is reactive around other dogs while on a leash. Penny has come a  long way in the short time we've had her. Initially she was very timid, but now she has become more curious. Penny has realized that people mean good things--treats and pets. She is friendly and appears to be crate-trained. We suspect she may be a little timid initially in a new home, but she will warm up quickly when she feels safe.  Penny came to us with her sister, Mouse, as well as with Mindy, who we believe is her mother. Lil Sleepy is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Lil Sleepy is way more than her name suggests! This sweet girl is an absolute gem with a goofy personality and a serious talent for cuddling. She’s the kind of dog who can keep up on an adventure, then happily spend the afternoon soaking up the sunshine or curling up next to her favorite person. She has been wonderful with children of all ages, from about 5 months old through 6 years old, and has consistently been gentle and patient around them. She’s also been doing great with her training! She knows sit, down, shake, wait, off, and recall (with recall currently most reliable in lower-stimulation environments), and she’s becoming more consistent every day. She is completely potty trained and can comfortably go 10+ hours when needed without an accident. She is crate trained although she may protest with some initial crying before settling in. She has also done wonderfully with being left uncrated in the house for extended periods—she hasn’t destroyed anything and is relaxed and happy when her person returns. She’s also an excellent travel companion. She rode 9 hours to Maine and was a total champ the entire way! For an active family, she’s a great partner for running and outdoor adventures. Interestingly, she tends to be even less reactive on leash when running. When it’s time to relax, though, she’s equally happy doing one of her favorite activities: sunbathing. ☀️ She’s easy to handle for grooming, too, and will happily let her person trim her nails without needing to be restrained. She has lived with a cat and has done well overall, though she may occasionally want to chase or play with the cat, so supervision around cats or a no cat home is recommended. A meet-and-greet and learning more about her previous experience with the cat would be a great way to determine the best fit. Most importantly, she is a total goofball and an expert cuddler. She has so much love to give and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who can be both an adventure buddy and a professional snuggle partner. Lou Bear is an amazing, fun-loving, smart, eager to please, and obedient pup (American Bully & Beagle mix)! He loves couch snuggles, walks/hikes, romps in the yard, and most importantly, he loves his treats and stuffies! Whoever is lucky enough to win this guy’s heart will need to invest in a large bin of various stuffed animals and rope toys because he takes one with him everywhere he goes! Lou Bear is treat-motivated, which makes positive reinforcement training a breeze. He already knows: sit, down, wait, stay, touch, leave it, drop it, “here please!” (come), and more. Lou Bear also walks great on a leash! Because he is part Beagle, he can catch and track a scent – which is great mental stimulation for him. If he gets too sidetracked with it, simple commands such as (“Lou Bear, here please” or “Show me good walking”) work wonders. Small treats or pieces of kibble during his good walking & focus (glancing up at his walker) will help to reinforce his excellent leash skills. Lou Bear is crate-trained and sleeps well through the night. During the day, he likes to play hard and then follow it up with a nice long nap. (Rinse & repeat throughout the day!) Lou Bear loves to play with other dogs! If he starts playing a little rough, it’s simply time for a break (reset), or a nice nap to refuel – and he’s good as new again.
