ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13003Hi! My name is Henry and I’m part of the transport coming to OPH 9/22/23!I’m guessed to be a Beagle/hound dog and estimated to be about 2 years and 10 months old. I’m a sweet guy and I currently weigh about 47 lbs.I made my way up north in search of my new family. Is that with you? If so apply today! I won’t be available long! This pet is expected to arrive at an Operation Paws for Homes Foster Home soon. If you are interested in adoption, please submit your application so that you may be pre-approved prior to arrival. All pets must be granted a Health Certificate in order to cross state lines and come to the rescue. Obtaining the health certificate is largely dependent on veterinary resources at the originating animal shelter so some pets may not arrive as planned.

Story
Our little Bella is two years old. We found her on the ring app. She was living with a family that found her abandoned. We took our dog Buddy to meet her and it was love at first sight for all of us. She has gone with us to a winery, shopping, numerous restaurants, and picnics. She is always the center of attention. She goes to dog parks, at least once per week and is very social. She is super affectionate and she will definitely try to sleep in your bed. We take them out every weekend either to a dog park or a walking a trail for exercise. Our only issue is she needs assistance with potty training and our schedules are too hectic to properly train her. She's a bundle of joy and we're looking for a loving caring home to place her in that can devote more time with her.

Story
Maggie is, like most beagles, inquisitive. When walking on a leash, she is energetic, following her nose to see what's around the next corner or behind that tree. Maggie gets along with most dogs, but appreciates a courteous introduction.  Maggie needs to lose some weight, for her health, and is super sweet.  Maggie comes to us from a rural shelter in southwestern Virginia, where she had been picked up as a stray.  PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Please see our adoption guidelines at  https://spcanova.org/about-us/adoption-policies/. September 23, 2023, 2:20 pm

Story
Ruthie will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) For questions about Ruthie prior to the event, please contact dogs@lostdogrescue.org Are you looking for a loyal companion to share your life with? You may have found one in Ruthie! Ruthie is an incredibly sweet, social, and friendly dog. She may not have had formal training, but she is willing and eager to learn and is ready to embark on a new journey with you. With patience, time, and love, she will blossom into an obedient and well-behaved dog. In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, Ruthie stays calm and collected, but when it comes to other dogs, she can be a bit shy. With gentle introductions and patience, however, she's likely to become more confident and comfortable with other pups over time. Ruthie is full of energy and curious about the world around her. She is looking for a home that will provide mental and physical exercise and plenty of cuddles, but no cats. If you're in need of a new best friend, Ruthie might be the one for you!

Story
Please contact Melissa A Aten (melissaa@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.gonna be by your side for miles and miles! MILES NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Miles and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday, September 24th from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name:  Miles        Best Guess for Breed:  Beagle mix   Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of June 2023      SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  27 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids pr cats but he can be tested   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations: Miles is a truly Lucky Dog! He tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.   Miles is Looking For: His forever family! This cutie is out of the puppy yips and into the awesome, sweet, loving - and still energetic - adult dog stage! He is up for all those great adventures with his new humans! Sniffy walks around the neighborhood (beagle nose - yeah, that's sniffy!), exploring forests and park paths, maybe visiting a dog park to see if he likes it, experiments to see if he likes ropes for tug or plush squeaky toys better... there's so much he would like to see and do! But - above all - what he truly wants most is his very own family who will give him all the love and attention he deserves! In exchange he promises lots of tail wags, kisses, and loyal companionship for all his days. How does that sound? Is Miles the one you can see snuffling by your side on all your outings? What My Foster Says About Me:  Miles is a sweet and goofy boy who has that wonderful hound curiosity, stopping to sniff at anything and everything. He’s very friendly with other dogs, and has begun to warm up to people. He prefers to walk in quiet areas, especially those with lots of grass, and tries to avoid streets that have a fair amount of car traffic. He likes his crate, sleeping through the night, and occasionally wandering into it for a while during the day. He loves his chew toys, and for the most part has confined his chewing to them. He needs a wee bit of coaxing to get in the car, but once he’s in, he settles down and curls up after a minute or two. If I come near him when he’s resting on the floor, he’ll get on his side or his back, wag his tail, and ask for tummy rubs. He’d be perfect as your one and only or as part of your pack.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog.   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.    BE A FOSTER!!!    Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org! Story
Please contact Melissa A Aten (melissaa@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.just a bunch of berries looking for a home! HUCKLEBERRY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Huckleberry            Best Guess for Breed:  Beagle Mix      Best Guess for Age:  7 weeks as of 9/7            SEX:  Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  6 lbs as of 9/7   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs DC area foster or forever home to escape!   Special Adoption Considerations:  Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Huckleberry is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Huckleberry! My siblings, Hollybarry and Harryberry, are sweet little puppies (NOT berries) looking for our forever homes! I'd like to find a home with space for me to do my puppy zoomies and with plenty of soft places for my puppy naps. When I'm a little older, I definitely want to take lots of walks to get to know all the new smells in my kingdom, and, of course, check for new ones! I'd also love plenty of opportunities to romp and wrestle and run and play with other pups. Because I'm a hound dog, you'll probably want to put me in obedience classes so I learn to use my houndie brain for good. What do you say? Do you have room in your life for a very cute berry?   What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon, but you can bet it will be cute!   Puppy Vetting Requirements:  Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than January 19, 2024.  There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
