I am a bit anxious when introduced to new places and would like to be allowed to take my time to adjust. I am treat motivated and love to get pets. I have a lot strength and can be tough to walk if my person is not used to walking big guys like me. I would greatly benefit from being the only dog in the household due to me not being the most social when it comes to meeting other dogs. Hiro appears to be an Akita and German Shepherd Mix. He is absolutely wonderful! We are not sure of his breed for sure, but he is a big fluffy sweet boy! He appears to get along with other dogs and is a talker and loves people. He has been with us since July 4th. Duchess, ID # D21-096, was found and brought to the shelter on 9/26/2021 and she is looking for a new loving home. Duchess is a friendly, quiet, playful, affectionate, smart, spayed and micro-chipped female Akita Mix and she is a little over a year old. She is black and white, sweet-tempered and she has been seen by our veterinarian to assess the injuries she had when she came to us. It appears she had a broken leg at some point but evidently didn't get care for it and it healed incorrectly, leaving her with a strange walking and running gait. Our vet assures us that it is healed and that Duchess isn't in pain from it. Now that she's feeling better, she is a happy girl, enjoying the play yard when it's her turn to be out there, running around. Duchess would do best in a home with calm, patient adults and young children should be avoided. Since she's already spayed and chipped, her fee is only $30 for our special adoption rate.
