Story
Meet TOBI We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is very bright. He is a big boy with a heart the size to match. He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him. He also has an unabashed, confident side to him. He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement. He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our adoption application found on our website here: https://www.namasteakitarescue.com/how-do-i-adopt There you will find helpful information about the adoption process, FAQ's, etc **PLEASE NOTE, we must first approve an application before a meeting can be arranged between a prospective adopter and our dogs. Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Story
Meet Emi Emi’s sleek, brindle coat is a thing of beauty and so magnificent to behold. Engaging, charismatic, gregarious, and spirited are the first things you sense about her from the moment she enters a room. Emi exudes a brand of joy that makes her impossible to resist! Not until you witness her graceful elegance and see a bit of frost around her muzzle, do you realize she is a senior beauty with an abundance of life experiences to share. She’s 8 yrs old and has found herself homeless, but she’s seen enough in life to know there’s still a wonderous journey ahead. She is a lover of people and she’d much rather be enjoying a fun adventure with you by her side on interesting walks or trips to the beach, than be left at home alone. She needs to be an only dog and is not suitable with cats. She is approximately 60 lbs. and seems unaware she has some arthritis and hip dysplasia. But as you can see, she enjoys playing with her toys and doing tricks for treats. Her healthy curiosity keeps her engaged in life’s adventures, though she also loves her beauty naps. Please don’t let her age deter you from considering giving her a home. Her heart is overflowing with love. If you are interested in Emi, please complete our adoption application in the link below. Story
Blitz is a striking-looking dog who is just waiting to blossom into a perfect companion in his new home. He came in with Teddy, a chihuahua mix, who likes to boss him around. Blitz would definitely do well with another secure dog in the household to show him the ropes, or on his own so he can soak up all the attention. Either way would be fine with him. Blitz is a little shy at first, but once he learns that you are there to spend time with him and take him for a walk, he’s all about it. He appears to be housetrained and polite on leash. Blitz does not particularly enjoy going back to a kennel, so come meet him today and spring him from that life – he’s ready to enjoy a forever home with you!

Story
This pup is nothing short of amazing and has the best parts of a shepherd and an Akita. He wants to be part of the family and he will protect them until the bitter end. Kai wants a family so bad and has a strong love for the people who take care of him. Once he has settled in, Kai's happiness fills the home with joy. When you come home from a long day at work, Kai is there to greet you and wants nothing more than to listen and smell all about your day. This young loving amazing Shepherd gives unconditional love, and only wants to please you and take every command. He can be a little timid, but once he learns your love, he is extremely obedient and loving. Once you earn his love, that’s all you’re gonna get from him. He is a good boy who has been through some tough times who just wants a family all to his own. Kai currently lives with other dogs and does well with most of them. There are more assertive dogs that Kai is not a fan of. Kai is not recommended to live with cats due to prey drive. Kai has met children and done well with them with proper introductions, but would likely do best with older children only given his timid nature when first meeting new people. Kai would do best in a home that is experienced with Akitas, Shepherds, or a similar breed. Kai is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Kai to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.

Story
🐾 Voila! It is I, Houdini, the dog you’ve been searching for! 🐾 Behold! It’s not an illusion — you’re looking at a handsome, black and white Siberian Husky mix who is about 2 years young and weighs 50lbs. You won’t be able to resist petting my soft floofy fur. In fact, you’ll see why my nickname is “Hairy Houdini.” Boy oh boy! Do I love those pets, cuddles, and being by your side ❤ But don’t blink — you wouldn’t want to miss my adorable ears, magical smile, and boopable nose! 🤩 Just like the infamous Harry Houdini, I don’t just believe in magic, I create it! It’s a magical day when I get to spend time outside of my kennel. I can show my excitement by being jumpy, but these ears aren’t just for looks — they help me listen well too. Once I’m told “off,” Presto! — I will sit and wait for your next command. Since I can be jumpy, it’s best I go to a home with no small children. I LOVE going on walks with my volunteer pals, exploring the great outdoors, and playing with my fave toys (especially squeaky ones!) I have a few tricks up my sleeve including being able to “sit” and go “down.” I’m a quick learner and love to show off my skills! 🎉 I love to exercise both my body and my mind! And after all that abracadabr-action, you can find me right beside you waiting for some lovin’! I walk well on leash, even when I need to send some urgent pee-mails along the way! And in the play yard, you can find me greeting a few of my shelter pals, but there are some that make me want to do a disappearing act. 🎩 If you have a doggo at home, please bring them in for a supervised, on-leash meet-and-greet to see if we’d be a good match. So, are you ready to spend a magical life together? If you’re looking for a companion who is equal parts playful, loving, smart, and happy-go-lucky — look no further! Come meet me and I guarantee you’ll quickly be under my spell! 💖 ** Houdini would do best in a home without small children ** His adoption fee is $35, plus licensing (if applicable). His neuter surgery has been sponsored! Houdini qualifies for Fluffy Dog Friday. Adopt him on a Friday and his adoption fee will be waived! ## See video of Houdini at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Houdini’s Shelter ID# is 84876. He’s an approximately 2-year-old, black and white, Siberian Husky mix. He currently weighs 50 lbs. He is already vaccinated, microchipped and neutered and is ready to go to his new home! Houdini is located in kennel A-5. ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.

Story
Mitah (My-tah) was surrendered to our shelter from a neglectful situation where there were too many dogs, and she wasn't getting enough to eat. As a result of this, Mitah has a strong food drive. Because of this, we are looking for a home for her without small children at this time. Although she lived with other dogs in her previous home, the environment seemed quite stressful, and she is now more dog selective. This means she that may be comfortable with some dogs, but not others. If you already have another dog at home, we'll have you bring them to meet her, prior to an adoption. We also think that she may enjoy being your one and only pup too though! Mitah enjoys going for walks and stretching her legs in the play yard, but she also really seems to enjoy just being with people. Her adoption fee is $35, plus licensing (if applicable). ** Adopt her on Fluffy Dog Friday and her adoption fee will be waived! ** ** Mitah would do best in a home without small children ** ## See video of Mitah at the end of the photo gallery ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Mitah’s Shelter ID# is 75470. She's an approximately 4-year-old, grey and white, Siberian Husky mix. She currently weighs 45 lbs. She is already vaccinated, microchipped and spayed and is ready to go to her new home! Mitah is located in kennel A-1. ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.

Story
**Meet Louise Saturday, June 14th from 10 to 1 at Dublin Petsmart west, 6960 Amador Plaza Rd.** ❤️ Expert Cuddler. Belly-rubs Pundit. Love Guru.❤️ If there was a doggo masterclass on “How to Win Hearts,” I would be teaching it! 🥰 Hello, I’m Louise! I’m an endearingly cute, endlessly cheerful, and delightfully goofy Siberian Husky Mix girl. I’m about three years old, tipping the scales at a svelte 52 lbs. Affectionately nicknamed “Princess” for my beauty and grace, I’ve captured everyone’s hearts. 👑 In fact, word on the pee-mails is that my volunteer fans may launch a new series about me called “Everybody Loves Louise.” 😎 Picture me as the perfect blend of beauty and charm, strutting into your life with Robert Palmer’s “Simply Irresistible” playing in the background. The first things you will notice are my soulful, bluest blue eyes and this gorgeous snow-white coat, so soft that you’ll want to run your fingers through it and keep them there. I’ll have you smiling ear to ear as I bound towards you and then promptly roll over, gently nudging your hand for a belly rub. 😂 My favorite things to do are following my volunteer buddies around the yard, giving and receiving expert-level cuddles, and getting those steps in as I bunny-hop about the yard. Another to-do on top of my list is lounging under the sun and getting my fur brushed by a volunteer buddy. 🐾 And does this beauty have brains? You bet! 👍I already know how to "Sit" and go “Down.” I walk nicely on a leash, too! If I get a little excited when I spot a squirrel or a bird during a walk, just call me and I’m right back to following your lead. I can be picky about treats, but my motivation comes from you - I’m eager to listen and learn whenever I get to spend more time with you. And when I do take treats, I take them ever so gently. 🙂 I love greeting my fellow shelter doggos through the yard fence. If you have a doggo, please bring them for a supervised, on-leash meet-and-greet. 🐶🐶 I see myself with a family or person who enjoys staying active. And when it's time to kick back and relax, I’ll probably be cuddling on the couch with you for some quality Netflixing and chilling. And just a heads up - because of my breed and instincts, I’m not the best match for a home with pet birds or small animals. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN LOVELY LOUISE, AN APPLICATION IS REQUIRED. You can submit an application by clicking the "Apply For Adoption box " located below her photos on the right side.
