Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Oscar! Oscar is a 2.5-year-old Malamute who came to us as his previous owner was no longer able to care for him. He is a playful and friendly boy and will need some work on his overall obedience and leash skills. He is very strong and will need a family that can physically handle his strength for leash walks and training. He would love an active family to take him for walks, adventures, or hiking. He would love a home with a securely fenced yard in a suburban or rural area where he can explore, play or just hang out. He can be jumpy, and we would recommend a home without small children due to his excitability and jumpiness as he could knock them over. Oscar is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Max is a 10-year-old Alaskan Malamute/German Shepard mix. Max has bounced around a couple of homes due to some behavioral issues but with the right family that is dedicated to him and his training, he can be a wonderful dog! Max will resource guard and is protective over his food, toys, and his person. His previous family claims he began this behavior after getting attacked at the dog park at the age of 2. Most of the time he is a great dog with no issues, but he will need a family that is experienced and can work with him in the areas he has some issues. He is neutered, potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash unless he sees a bunny, squirrel, or another dog. Since Max can be protective of his person, Max needs a single owner home or a home with two very experienced and committed owners as he will likely end up bonding with and being protective of one of the owners. We will not place him in a home with multiple people (roommates) or kids. Max would do better in a non-urban area. He's not a dog that can be left tied up outside a store and is a bite risk for strangers. The owner will have to be vigilant about proper introductions. He's fluffy and beautiful, strangers and children will want to pet him. Max should be the only dog in the home with no cats. Max is a great dog and has a lot of love to give to the right person. His adoption fee is $200.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.COURTESY LISTING Abram  is only 3 years old and a big, sweet good-natured boy. At approximately 100 lbs he has beautiful yellow/blue eyes, is good with other dogs, walks well on leash [but like most dogs does pull when excited] and we are working on recall. Spends a lot of time training off leash now and comes but not immediately. We don't know if he is housetrained as he is being housed outdoors with other rescues. He is currently in a 6' fenced enclosure with dig guards. No food aggression with people or dogs. Abram is shy and it takes time to trust. Loves to hike  in woods for a couple hours a day for exercise and  rides well in the car. Northern-breed experience necessary, and no children cats or little dogs please.  If you are interested in giving this shy but sweet boy a forever home, visit  http://www.laketahoewolfrescue.com/WANT-TO-ADOPT.html  and contact  MarraWatson@cruxrock.com  or 432-638-8150    IMPORTANT - Please Note:  Abram is being listed as a courtesy. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. VALDEZ is a super sweet boy who can be a little shy when first meeting people.  He is extremely playful with a lot of energy when matched with another dog of similar energy.  He enjoys other dogs so much, he would do great in a home with other dogs. VALDEZ will need training, but should learn easily, especially if there are treats involved.  He is people friendly and is okay with respectable children. He would enjoy learning to take long walks, but perfectly happy relaxing with his people. VALDEZ is a clever escape artist.  He has found ways to get over a 4 foot fence and under a gate with only a few inch gap.  Therefore, he is going to need a nice, high and secure fenced yard. Also nicknamed, JOURNEY, because he has had a long journey from Mexico to our rescue in Malley Valley, WA.  He hopes his journey will be complete with a new furever home.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2023, 6:31 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. SAMOA is a very energetic, playful boy who loves people and other dogs. He needs the opportunity to run and run to get the zoomies out of him. A nice big fenced yard would be great.  Then he can settle down and learn some important commands.   Once SAMOA has burned some energy he enjoys attention, pets and playing with his toys. He would be fine in a home with other dogs, especially a younger dog that would like to play chase. Since SAMOA is a puppy, he needs a home that has the time to train him, take him on adventures and encourage him to grow into a well behaved charming and sweet boy.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2023, 6:31 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. ***Adoption Pending***   YUKI  is a lover and conversationalist who is great with kids and toddlers and enjoys meeting new people. At backyard BBQs she is an attentive hostess, but due to severe allergies requires a wipe down after laying in the grass.  YUKI does well with other dogs, including those under 20 pounds, but would be happiest in a one dog home as she wants all of the pets for herself.   She is content with several short strolls a day, but would enjoy accompanying you on a run. YUKI does not need a large yard and does well in a big  48x30x30 crate.  However, if you have a yard, that would be great too.   If you are looking for a loving companion and can accommodate her allergies,  Yuki is the girl for you !.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2023, 6:31 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.COURTESY LISTING If you would like to learn more about SKUNK please email adoption@yakimahumane.org at the Yakima Humane Society.  SKUNK came to us after the shelter assisted the Sheriff's office with the seizure of 7 extra-large Malamute Shepherd mixes this summer. These guys were living in a tough situation, but we are excited to get to know them and find them new homes. SKUNK has not had much exposure, so he is timid at first, but we know with the right home he is going to make someone an excellent pet! SKUNK has been coming out of his shell more and is just now enjoying playtime! These dogs were living outside so we cannot guarantee they would be 100% potty trained at this time, however when they are taken out to go potty regularly, they do keep their kennels clean. SKUNK will need more work learning to walk on a leash and someone with patience to reassure him.  IMPORTANT - Please Note:  SKUNK is being listed as a courtesy. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. ***Adoption Pending!***   BELLA is a malamute, Newfoundland and Great Pyrenees mix, which is why she is such a big girl.  BELLA is house trained, rides well in the car, and knows a lot of commands including 'sit', 'down', 'touch', 'wait', 'stay', and more!   She is picky about the other dogs she shares with her humans and does not do well in a house with other animals (cats, chickens, other small pets)  It would be best she was the only furbaby in her family.   However, BELLA loves people of all ages, including kids she will make an amazing family dog!  Taking walks and hikes, chasing toys, and then chilling on the couch with you would be her favorite day!      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2023, 6:31 pm
