Yes  Vaccinated?  Yes  Heartworm Negative?  4DX negative    Good with dogs?  He would prefer to be an only dog or with a female  Good with kids?  Older kids preferably as he is agile and strong   Good with cats?   NO  Has experience on a leash? Yes, understands commands - basic training  Potty trained?  Clean in his space and abides rules in his training facility  Crate trained?  Yes  Where does the dog sleep? At the moment in his kennel space   Temperament/Personality:  BORIS is very obedient, intelligent and curious of his surroundings. He is very sweet and wise and can win anyone over. He is an alpha dog therefore he is selective with other dogs. Activity level is low.-medium but daily activity is required.      What does the dog's ideal home look like?   In an open place with someone who has had experience with Malamute breeds that and knows about their personality and care.   Boris likes human contact and will create a great bond with his human.   He behaves very well in the car so he can be a great companion to tag along and hit the mountains on a cold winter day.   . What is the dog's rescue story?  He was abandoned by his owners in a remote area of Guadalajara city. He had been attacked by another dog and was badly injured. Boris showed his good nature despite his wounds and let people take him into safe keeping until he was taken to the clinic to be treated and healed.   Boris is waiting in Mexico for a chance to come to WA. HI - I'M ARLO, a 2-year-old happy, loving and large Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky, currently in Seattle in a foster home. I weigh at least 100 pounds and am a large bundle of love! I am a sweetheart with people, and I do well with other dogs, too - I love to play. I could use a little help in teaching me how to play given my size, but I've got a great disposition and am eager to learn. I'd make a wonderful companion for a strong and active person, people or family who can take me for walks, hikes and other outings. I just have a great personality. Can you foster or adopt me? KANGA  thrives on adventure and would love an active adopter who will take him on adventures and give him plenty of play time! Kanga is a loyal guy and will be a great companion for someone. He also LOVES the snow! His number one favorite activity (even more than walks and treats!) is going for car rides! He loves feeling the wind in his face through an open window (car surfing). Kanga is incredibly observant and curious. Kanga’s comfort with people has grown significantly while in rescue. He does need a little time to build trust, but eventually he will follow you around and give you kisses! He is also quite affectionate and loyal to those he bonds with. Kanga has excellent house manners and is happy to chill on his bed or lay beside you as you work. He has basic training and knows: sit, down, come, get it, stay, and release and is ready for the next level of training. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker. Kanga just needs to know you can be counted on to pay attention to his physical cues when he’s feeling overwhelmed. Kanga would do best in a home setting with a secure yard and would prefer to be your only pet. Little Miss SHELBY is a sweetheart with a big smile and a nonstop tail wag!  Based on her size, we expect she is a malamute and husky mix, bringing the best of both breeds.  She knows basic commands, "sit", "down" and "wait" but could use further training.  She is food motivated which will help when teaching her new commands and tricks.  SHELBY is good on the leash and will enjoy joining you on all of your outdoor adventures.  She is a  loving, playful, active girl who generally does well with other dogs once they have established who is boss in the house (hint: it's her!). SHELBY has food allergies that will require a special diet and lifetime of medication.  Therefore, she needs a family that can afford her medications, special food and has the time to administrator them. SHELBY would love for you to open up your home to her and she promises to not steal the couch...well, at least not the whole couch! See our adoption process.   WILLOW is a beautiful malamute that is looking for a home familiar with malamutes and their unique characteristics!  Super smart, she is house trained, does well in the car, and knows a bunch of commands including 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'paw', and 'no'.  Typical of the breed she does not prefer being told 'no' (we feel you Willow!) and will woo at you to let you know it. Working on leash skills and going on adventures will be a priority for her new family.  As smart as she is, we expect she will pick up those skills quickly!
