Story
Balto is a sweet, playful and loving 2 year old, Malamute/Shepherd mix who is looking for his forever home! REQUIREMENTS (applications that do not meet requirements will not be responded to) - Fully fenced, 6ft+, large yard outside of the city - Family that is not gone long hours or has staggering schedules - Northern breed experience - Adult only or kids over age of 12 Balto is super friendly and happy and loves to play around outside with his people! He is a leaner and loves pets and attention too. Balto walks well on leash but can get excited and pull at times. He is large, around 75-80lbs and will needs owners who can handle his size and strength. Balto does good with other dogs and came from a home where he lived with two other large dogs. No cats or small animals for him. He would do well with another large laid back dog in the home. And he would make a great adventure buddy! Balto is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Say hi to Niko! This sweet Alaskan Malamute has had a rough past and is ready to move forward with his loving forever home. Niko is around 3 years old, 70-80lbs and a big fluff of love! Niko was a stray dog in Mexico, which is a tough place for a Malamute to be a stray! When Niko joined us he was severely underweight, and is now up to a much more healthy weight for him. Niko does resource guard (with food, toys, etc) around other dogs, which is no surprise as he is used to competing for his food and resources as a stray. He does do well with other dogs, as long as there are no resources for him to feel like he needs to protect. He would do best as an only dog in the home, but is fine out and about with other dogs. He is a dog that with some professional training, stability and structure could definitely improve with his resource guarding. We are looking for one of two homes for him, a home where he is an only dog but can get continued training and supervised socialization around other dogs, or a home that is very experienced with resource guarding and has another large, laid back female dog that is not interested in toys. Outside of his resource guarding, Niko is an awesome dog! He loves to play with toys with his people, likes to hang out in the yard with you or in the house. He also really enjoys going for walks and hikes! He is great on car rides, is crate trained and is quiet and rests in his crate, he is working on his potty training which with his background is to be expected. Niko would be best suited in an adult home only due to his resource guarding he is working on, but could do ok in an experienced home with kids over 12. Niko would love to have a home with a fenced yard. No apartments, no cats or small critters. Niko is neutered, microchipped and UTD on shots. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Oscar! Oscar is a 2.5-year-old Malamute who came to us as his previous owner was no longer able to care for him. He is a playful and friendly boy and will need some work on his overall obedience and leash skills. He is very strong and will need a family that can physically handle his strength for leash walks and training. He would love an active family to take him for walks, adventures, or hiking. He would love a home with a securely fenced yard in a suburban or rural area where he can explore, play or just hang out. He can be jumpy, and we would recommend a home without small children due to his excitability and jumpiness as he could knock them over. Oscar is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Max is a 10-year-old Alaskan Malamute/German Shepard mix. Max has bounced around a couple of homes due to some behavioral issues but with the right family that is dedicated to him and his training, he can be a wonderful dog! Max will resource guard and is protective over his food, toys, and his person. His previous family claims he began this behavior after getting attacked at the dog park at the age of 2. Most of the time he is a great dog with no issues, but he will need a family that is experienced and can work with him in the areas he has some issues. He is neutered, potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash unless he sees a bunny, squirrel, or another dog. Since Max can be protective of his person, Max needs a single owner home or a home with two very experienced and committed owners as he will likely end up bonding with and being protective of one of the owners. We will not place him in a home with multiple people (roommates) or kids. Max would do better in a non-urban area. He's not a dog that can be left tied up outside a store and is a bite risk for strangers. The owner will have to be vigilant about proper introductions. He's fluffy and beautiful, strangers and children will want to pet him. Max should be the only dog in the home with no cats. Max is a great dog and has a lot of love to give to the right person. His adoption fee is $200.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. KANGA  thrives on adventure and would love an active adopter who will take him on adventures and give him plenty of play time! Kanga is a loyal guy and will be a great companion for someone. He also LOVES the snow! His number one favorite activity (even more than walks and treats!) is going for car rides! He loves feeling the wind in his face through an open window (car surfing). Kanga is incredibly observant and curious. Kanga’s comfort with people has grown significantly while in rescue. He does need a little time to build trust, but eventually he will follow you around and give you kisses! He is also quite affectionate and loyal to those he bonds with. Kanga has excellent house manners and is happy to chill on his bed or lay beside you as you work. He has basic training and knows: sit, down, come, get it, stay, and release and is ready for the next level of training. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker. Kanga just needs to know you can be counted on to pay attention to his physical cues when he’s feeling overwhelmed. Kanga would do best in a home setting with a secure yard and would prefer to be your only pet. He might do well with savvy teens as long as they are aware of Kanga’s “dog language” and can give him space when he needs it.  Are you the active, patient, forever home that Kanga is seeking?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 28, 2023, 3:20 pm

Story
Met Jony, the cutest yet the laziest Huskita you’d ever met. We adopted Jony in the summer of 2021 from a local shelter. Neither of us has ever had a dog before let along any experience handling such a big one (75lb). But Jony was so handsome and adorable we decided to take a leap of faith. Jony turned out to be an angel, he’s been easy and healthy since day 1 and brought so much laughter to our household. Due to change in employment, we’re moving to a developing country that is also quite hostile towards big dogs like Jony. After much consideration, we think it is best to find Jony another loving family and stay in the U.S. Jony has a great temper and can be a bit silly at times, but he’s never been aggressive in any way shape or form. He’s food motivated and loves playing with other dogs at the dog park. He’s neutered and has incurred minimal medical costs since day 1. We think if we can handle him anyone should be able to without issues. Feel free to reach out if you like Jony Boy.
