Story
Hi… I’m Cony. I may look strong and steady now, but my story began much too harshly, much too early. When I was only three months old, I was tied up in a place where dogs were not loved — a place where I was never meant to feel safe. I was still just a baby who should have been beside my mother, yet all I knew was a rope and a fear I didn’t understand. One day, the rope came loose, and I stepped out into the world. But the world wasn’t safe for a tiny puppy either. I wandered until people tried to catch me. They had to use tranquilizer darts — three times. Not because I hated people. Not because I ran away from them. But because I kept going toward them. Even then, I wagged my tail. I looked into their eyes. I tried to walk closer. And somehow, that small, stubborn love in my heart gave me another chance at life. I still love people. I greet new faces with a gentle, open heart, and I get along well with other dogs too. I walk nicely on a leash, ride calmly in the car, and can stay comfortably in a flight crate if needed. I understand basic cues like sit, paw, down, and house, and I always try my best to listen. I just… really love affection. When you pet me, I might quietly ask, “Can you love me a little more?” It isn’t a behavior problem — it’s simply the tender heart of a dog who didn’t receive enough love in the beginning. Right now, I’m doing well with my potty routine. But if I move to a new home, I may have a few accidents at first. New environments can make me nervous, and I may need some time to adjust. If you guide me gently and give me patience, I promise I will learn and settle in beautifully. I’m only three years old — still young, yet I’ve already been through so much. And still, I never gave up on people. I still walk toward you. I still wag my tail. What I’m wishing for isn’t anything extraordinary — just someone who calls my name, a happy walk each day, and the quiet reassurance that says, “You’re safe now.” I hope the next chapter of my life is not about fear, but about peaceful, ordinary days filled with love. Will you be the family who writes that story with me? 🐾💛

Story
From his foster home: `Elias is very sweet and social. He may take a few days to settle into your home, but once he does he is relaxed and well behaved. He seems fully potty trained and gets along well with other dogs. He does have a bit of resource guarding with high values toys and food, so should be monitored with children and other dogs who may not respect his boundaries . He did well though with trading a toy for something else that he likes if needed and he seems very trainable and likely to be able to work through this issue. He did not do great with the cat, there was some chasing and obsession. He may do OK with slow cat introductions over time, but overall a small animal free home is likely better for him (and for the cat). Overall though he is a total charmer who just wants love and affection and would make a great addition to many homes.` Meet Elias, a striking 3-year-old Alaskan Malamute weighing in at an impressive 93 pounds of fluff, charm, and personality. Elias is very friendly and enjoys being around people, greeting the world with that classic northern-dog confidence. True to his husky roots, he has opinions of his own—if he doesn’t want to go somewhere, he may plant himself or have a brief “meltdown” to make his feelings known. He’s also not a fan of being confined and can be a bit of a picky eater, so he’ll do best with someone who understands and appreciates the independent nature of the breed. On the bright side, Elias walks beautifully on leash, loves to play ball, and has shown himself to be friendly with other dogs. He’s active, engaging, and happiest when he has space to move and a person who can laugh at his dramatic moments while providing structure and patience. With the right home—one that embraces his quirks as part of his charm—Elias will be a loyal, fun-loving companion ready to adventure by your side. The dog adoption fee is $110. They come spayed/neutered, microchipped, first set of vaccines including DAPP (parvo combo), Bordatella (kennel cough), have been dewormed with Pyrantel, and have been treated with selamectin for fleas. Our website updates every hour, but some animals may be adopted faster than we can get them updated online. If you`d like to check on the status of an animal, please call us at 360-352-2510. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. POOF made the long journey from Oregon to Malley Valley like an absolute champ—he snoozed peacefully in the car and even rested his head sweetly on the driver’s shoulder along the way. Once he arrived, he greeted the volunteers with pure joy, soaking up every bit of attention. This boy has big happy&#226&#128&#145dog energy. He loves to zoom around the yard and toss his toys into the air like his own personal celebration. POOF also comes with some great basics already under his belt—he knows sit, shake, lie down, and he’s a pro at catching treats mid&#226&#128&#145air. When meeting the other Malley Valley dogs through the fence, he’s been calm, relaxed, and unbothered by their barking. For a newcomer, he’s showing all the signs of being an easygoing, lovable companion. POOF is still settling in, but he’s already proving to be a wonderful dog who’s ready to find his forever family. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you’re dreaming of a mature, affectionate dog with a heart full of charm, LOGAN might be the perfect match for your family. This handsome boy loves a good toy&#226&#128&#145tossing session—as long as you’re part of the fun. He’ll happily chase the toy every time, but true to his Malamute roots, bringing it back is… optional. What he really wants is to share the moment with you. LOGAN is all about connection. He adores pets, quiet companionship, and simply being near his humans. He knows his basic commands—sit, down, and stay—and he’s very treat&#226&#128&#145motivated, which makes continued training a breeze. Toys don’t impress him much, but snacks? Absolutely. Currently living at Malley Valley, LOGAN is comfortable around the other dogs. In a home, he’d likely do best with a calm canine companion—or he’d be thrilled to be the one and only king of the castle. Because of his size and his desire for focused attention, LOGAN would thrive in a home without young children, or with older, respectful kids who understand his boundaries. He can be a bit shy at first, taking his time to decide who’s worthy of his trust. But once he chooses you, he’s all in—loyal, snuggly, and ready to be your devoted companion. LOGAN is searching for a forever home where he can relax, feel safe, and soak up all the love he’s been waiting for. Could your home be the one he’s been hoping for? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.SHADOW is a stunning, snow&#226&#128&#145white gentleman with a voice he’s proud to share and a heart that melts for his humans. He loves his walks, loves his pets, and absolutely loves leaning in close for that classic Malamute snuggle. He’s friendly with people and may do well with a calm canine companion—he recently lived peacefully with another dog. This boy is sharp as they come. SHADOW thrives on routine and picks up new things quickly. He already knows sit, stay, down, come, outside, treat, eat, and walk. Mealtime is a polite affair—he’ll wait patiently until he’s given the go&#226&#128&#145ahead. And if he needs something, he’ll come find you and lead you right to the door or his water bowl like the clever communicator he is. His manners are truly impressive. SHADOW won’t counter&#226&#128&#145surf, steal snacks, or help himself to anything unless he’s told it’s okay. Outside, he’s a calm, content yard&#226&#128&#145lounger who doesn’t dig. On walks, he’s curious about other dogs but stays composed and doesn’t react. What SHADOW needs most is a home that appreciates his goofy charm, his gentle nature, and the way he makes every day feel a little brighter. He’s currently living with one of our wonderful foster volunteers, waiting for the family who will see just how special he is.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 25, 2026, 2:22 pm
