Story
Miska is a very sweet older gal looking for her Furever Home. Miska is very relaxed girl and would do good in a more calm home that is less active. Miska does take a bit to warm up but once she is comfortable she enjoys sitting down next to someone and receiving some pets. The dog adoption fee is $90. They come spayed/neutered, microchipped, first set of vaccines including DHPP (parvo combo), Bordatella (kennel cough), and Strongid (wormer). Our website updates every hour, but some animals may be adopted faster than we can get them updated online. If you'd like to check on the status of an animal, please call us at 360-352-2510. This is especially important if you are viewing this animal on any site other than Animal Services' website.

He already knows "sit", and is eager to learn more! Sherwood can get excited when people come to play, so he'll do best in a home with dog-savvy kids over 10. After a play-session, Sherwood loves to lean on you to get all of your love and attention. Does Sherwood sound like the boisterous, loving, playful, and cuddly pup for you? Come to Kitsap Humane Society today to find out!Sherwood needs a home with:-Kids over 10 years oldKitsap Humane Society is open for walk-up adoptions Wednesday through Monday from 12pm to 4pm. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. KANGA  thrives on adventure and would love an active adopter who will take him on adventures and give him plenty of play time! Kanga is a loyal guy and will be a great companion for someone. He also LOVES the snow! His number one favorite activity (even more than walks and treats!) is going for car rides! He loves feeling the wind in his face through an open window (car surfing). Kanga is incredibly observant and curious. Kanga’s comfort with people has grown significantly while in rescue. He does need a little time to build trust, but eventually he will follow you around and give you kisses! He is also quite affectionate and loyal to those he bonds with. Kanga has excellent house manners and is happy to chill on his bed or lay beside you as you work. He has basic training and knows: sit, down, come, get it, stay, and release and is ready for the next level of training. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker. Kanga just needs to know you can be counted on to pay attention to his physical cues when he’s feeling overwhelmed. Kanga would do best in a home setting with a secure yard and would prefer to be your only pet. He might do well with savvy teens as long as they are aware of Kanga’s “dog language” and can give him space when he needs it.  Are you the active, patient, forever home that Kanga is seeking?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 5, 2023, 11:03 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. PHOENIX is a spirited and affectionate dog who has overcome many challenges to become the lovable companion he is today. With a striking appearance and a heart full of love, he is on a journey to find his forever home. This sweet-natured canine requires an owner who can provide consistent guidance and training. Phoenix thrives on mental and physical stimulation and requires an engaged owner who can provide him with ample opportunities for play and exercise. Despite his occasional mischievousness and counter-surfing tendencies, Phoenix's loyalty and desire for affection shine through, making him a wonderful companion for the right family willing to give him the love and structure he deserves. While Phoenix often plays with dogs his size, he would prefer not to share his home with another dog.  IMPORTANT - Please Note:  Phoenix is currently residing with his owner in Maryland. WAMAL is passing approved adopters along to Phoenix's owner so interested adopters must be willing to travel to Maryland to meet Phoenix, as such interested adopters are not required to live in Washington or Oregon. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 5, 2023, 11:03 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. DIAMOND truly sparkles and will be the gem of her new pack!  She is ready to play, play, play with her canine companions and is just a joy to watch.  Toys are also super fun and she will bring a toy over to one of her packmates to engage in play.  While she enjoys play time, she also knows how to relax and chill out with her pack.  She thinks couches are just the best and will happily sit next to you for movie night.    She loves to spend time with her people, get pets and attention, and takes treats very gently.  DIAMOND is also a smart girl and knows a lot of commands including 'sit', 'lay down', 'paw', and 'speak', is house trained, and does well in the car.  Diamond shines brighter than her namesake and will tell Woooo all about how amazing and sweet she is!   DIAMOND would love another dog to play with in her new home.  Or be happy as your one and only.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 5, 2023, 11:03 pm

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. Little Miss SHELBY is a sweetheart with a big smile and a nonstop tail wag!  Based on her size, we expect she is a malamute and husky mix, bringing the best of both breeds.  She knows basic commands, "sit", "down" and "wait" but could use further training.  She is food motivated which will help when teaching her new commands and tricks.  SHELBY is good on the leash and will enjoy joining you on all of your outdoor adventures.  She is a  loving, playful, active girl who generally does well with other dogs once they have established who is boss in the house (hint: it's her!). SHELBY has food allergies that will require a special diet and lifetime of medication.  Therefore, she needs a family that can afford her medications, special food and has the time to administrator them. SHELBY would love for you to open up your home to her and she promises to not steal the couch...well, at least not the whole couch!
