Story
3-year-old intact male Alaskan Malamute. His name was Strike, but he didn't respond to that, so we started calling him Hank & he seems to like it! He's so sweet and gentle, nothing seems to bother him. Took him to the dog park and he was so calm, never once barked or shown teeth! We already have 3 dogs and 2 cats living inside our small home, but we are trying to find his forever home, so he doesn't have to go to a shelter. A friend's kid had to move back in with his dad, and on their way to Idaho, they stopped by and asked if there was any chance we could take him, as they could not. Our dogs were okay with him and he was so mellow, we thought we could find a good home so he wasn't left at a shelter. It's been a week now, and because he's not fixed, we've had problems with him marking around the house, then the other boy dog marks it too. He will howl if he's left alone, and he's very stubborn! I would guess he probably weighs about 150-170lbs.

I could definitely benefit from losing some weight and I love going for walks on the trail. I am looking for an active family who can help me get some exercise. I've met another large dog in play group and did well with him. If you are interested in adopting me, you can visit me at the shelter 7 days a week between 11am and 5pm.

Story
Molly-mute, Mollinator, Darth Molly, is a gorgeous 4 month old pup with loads of energy and love to share with the right humans! She would prefer a home with an active family, older kids, even other larger dogs. She loves to play fetch, tag, go for long walks on the beach, and get her zoomies out in a large yard. Her hobbies are collecting chew toys, bones, stealing chips and Barbies! She comes from a mixed family of Alaskan Malamute and husky mix. We picked her up on a native reservation so she also enjoys a bit of the “wild” life! She likes cats but is too aggressive with them. She also LOVES my young children, but again, is too aggressive in her play so she would fare best in a home without cats or young children. In her true puppy nature, she is loving, outgoing, doesnt understand her size, and thinks every one and everything is a toy. She is not yet fixed or chipped but has had all her first shots, deworming, rabies, etc. and she will come with crate, food, bones, toys, etc.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. KANGA  thrives on adventure and would love an active adopter who will take him on adventures and give him plenty of play time! Kanga is a loyal guy and will be a great companion for someone. He LOVES the snow in the winter and to swim in the summer.  His number one favorite activity (even more than walks and treats) is going for car rides! He likes feeling the wind in his face through an open window (car surfing). Kanga is incredibly observant and curious. Kanga’s comfort with people has grown significantly while in rescue. He does need a little time to build trust, but eventually he will follow you around and give you kisses! He is also quite affectionate and loyal to those he bonds with. Kanga has excellent house manners and is happy to chill on his bed or lay beside you as you work. He has basic training and knows: sit, down, come, get it, stay, and release and is ready for the next level of training. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker. Kanga just needs to know you can be counted on to pay attention to his physical cues when he’s feeling overwhelmed. Kanga would do best in a home setting with a secure yard and would prefer to be your only pet. He might do well with savvy teens as long as they are aware of Kanga’s “dog language” and can give him space when he needs it.  Are you the active, patient, forever home that Kanga is seeking? Kanga is currently enjoying the amenities of our Malley Valley doggie resort.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 11, 2024, 7:09 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. Little Miss SHELBY is a sweetheart with a big smile and a nonstop tail wag!  Based on her size, we expect she is a malamute and husky mix, bringing the best of both breeds.  She knows basic commands, "sit", "down" and "wait" but could use further training.  She is food motivated which will help when teaching her new commands and tricks.  SHELBY is good on the leash and will enjoy joining you on all of your outdoor adventures.  She is a  loving, playful, active girl who generally does well with other dogs once they have established who is boss in the house (hint: it's her!). SHELBY has food allergies that will require a special diet and lifetime of medication.  Therefore, she needs a family that can afford her medications, special food and has the time to administrator them. SHELBY would love for you to open up your home to her and she promises to not steal the couch...well, at least not the whole couch! SHELBY is currently being fostered by a loving family in Eastern Washington.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 11, 2024, 7:09 pm
