Story
We took in this big guy in February of 2020 when he was about 4 yrs. saying we would foster him and find him a good home. We have worked with him for three years now (much longer than anticipated due to covid and finding the perfect fit) and we believe that he would do best in a home with no other pets or small children. He would make a great companion for someone who is home most of the time. He can only be left for a few hours alone in his kennel. He still has separation anxiety although he has come a long way. He is a really sweet boy once you get to know him and he’s overcome a lot of his unwanted behaviors, however he still needs some work. He needs a strong owner that understands this breed well and will give him all the love and attention as he doesn’t like to share. Best in a home with no small children. He requires walks everyday and some sort of gravy or a little scoop of wet food on his kibble or he won’t eat. This guy is so goofy and fun and deserves the best.

What is the dog's rescue story?  He was abandoned by his owners in a remote area of Guadalajara city. He had been attacked by another dog and was badly injured. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. KANGA  thrives on adventure and would love an active adopter who will take him on adventures and give him plenty of play time! Kanga is a loyal guy and will be a great companion for someone. He also LOVES the snow! His number one favorite activity (even more than walks and treats!) is going for car rides! He loves feeling the wind in his face through an open window (car surfing). Kanga is incredibly observant and curious. Kanga’s comfort with people has grown significantly while in rescue. He does need a little time to build trust, but eventually he will follow you around and give you kisses! He is also quite affectionate and loyal to those he bonds with. Kanga has excellent house manners and is happy to chill on his bed or lay beside you as you work. He has basic training and knows: sit, down, come, get it, stay, and release and is ready for the next level of training. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker. Kanga just needs to know you can be counted on to pay attention to his physical cues when he’s feeling overwhelmed. Kanga would do best in a home setting with a secure yard and would prefer to be your only pet. He might do well with savvy teens as long as they are aware of Kanga’s “dog language” and can give him space when he needs it.  Are you the active, patient, forever home that Kanga is seeking?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 18, 2023, 10:31 am
