Story
My daughter picked up Gary from a shelter in South Carolina on May 9th. She begged to bring him home from college and adopt him. We said yes. He got here and our current dog is really struggling-has stopped sleeping and eating, has anxiety. Gary can't stay here. We cannot bear the thought of Gary going back to shelter. He is the sweetest animal. All he wants to do is snuggle and be scratched. He has no behaviors, is trained, just groomed, and chipped. He eats normally, goes to the bathroom outside. Super smart-can let himself out the front door (storm door). He stays in the front yard and just lays in sun. Doesn't bother anyone walking by unless they are walking a dog-then he wants to play. We do love him, so we need to find him a good home. He can't walk super far due to his hip pins, so he just wanders around yard. You will not regret adopting Gary. He is beautiful.

Story
Gary is the sweetest, most loving boy. He does not bark, bite or whine, and is so so calm. Potty trained and electric fence trained! His head will always be in your lap, and he loves belly rubs. I originally fostered Gary, but could not bear to give him back to the shelter. My other dog does not do well with other dogs, and Gary can't permanently stay in my home. This poor boy has been shot in his back legs and hit by a car, so he has a funny-looking limp in his back two legs. Please consider adopting Gary, especially if you want to skip the puppy phase and adopt a calm 4-year-old adult dog. I am not sure of his exact mix, but he is bulldog-pitbull mix.

Story
Yumi is a 1.5-year-old Bulldog mix who is eager to explore the world around her! Weighing in at 43 lbs, she makes the silliest noises when she's sleeping or sniffing on a walk, and her adorable full-body wiggles are sure to bring joy to any home. This sweet girl adjusted very easily to her foster home, and is both house-trained and crate-trained. While she was a little anxious for the first 24 hours, all she needs is some extra love and lots of blankets in her crate to keep cozy. She makes for a great roommate because of how she loves to lounge and snuggle—especially when belly rubs are involved!—and isn't noisy when left alone.Yumi thrives on mental stimulation and loves food puzzles, learning new tricks, and going on adventures. While she doesn’t need a fenced yard to burn off energy, her foster family says she does well with a mix of short and long walks throughout the day (totaling 1.5 to 2 hours). For future training, her new family should be mindful of her past as a stray dog and tendency to scavenge on walks, but training should be a breeze with positive reinforcement. When she's at home, she's happy to sniff around, play with soft toys and chew on a kong. She gets very curious about anything new and learns very quickly, so she should do well when introduced to new friends. He has hung out with some dogs and has been to a dog park. She can be a bit high-energy for some dogs but is respectful of the boundaries they set. She would love to go to a family who helps her learn how to meet new dog friends easily so she can have fun! Her foster family does not have concerns about being introduced to children or cats, but a proper introduction is always recommended. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate dog who’s eager to learn and cuddle, Yumi might be the perfect match for you!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
** Can only be seen by appointment: 651-772-8983 **Well hey there! My name is Gus and I`m a handsome, 6 year old Bulldog mix. I was picked up by St. Paul Animal Control and my owner was never found so I was transferred to Animal Ark. I can be a bit shy with new people so I would need some time to get to know you, but I am a sweet boy. I need to go to a home with a fenced in yard, with no children or small animals, and with someone who is willing to teach me how to be a well-mannered boy. I would also need a slow introduction to any potential canine siblings. I am very treat motivated and very smart. Since I`m such a special boy, I can only be met with an approved adoption application. If you think I might be a good fit for you, please contact the shelter!

Story
Meet Ford, a remarkable Bulldog whose presence is as powerful and steadfast as a mighty river. Just like the characteristics of his breed, Ford embodies kindness and courage, showcasing a unique blend of friendliness and dignity. Now you may not see it by looking into his gorgeous brown eyes, but Ford has suffered in his short life.... he came to the rescue from the streets with a HORRIFIC hernia on his back end, near his rectum. He required two surgeries to correct the hernia and allow him to have a normal life again. He came through with SHINING colors ;) With his well-muscled frame and low-slung stature, Ford is the epitome of a true bruiser, but it's his iconic "sourmug" face that represents his unwavering courage and tenacity. Despite his robust appearance, Ford is a docile and loyal companion, adapting seamlessly to any environment, be it the bustling city or the serene countryside. With Ford by your side, you'll experience the unwavering devotion and unmistakable presence of a Bulldog, a breed that leaves an indelible mark on your heart. Don't miss the opportunity to welcome this incredible Bulldog into your life, as Ford's unique spirit will bring joy, love, and an unmistakable charm that only he can deliver. Some basic information about Ford; he is male, a Bulldog mix, and is medium-sized (20-59lbs). Ford is not great with other dogs (or cats or other critters) and would be best in a home with either only adults or older children and as a single dog. But his heart will fill your home with all the love you need!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

MEET FORREST Forrest holds a special place in our hearts! Crawling his paralized self to safety only for the public to turn around and treat him like he was a problem. He was never the problem! He knew that if he got himself to safety the right people were going to find him and boy did he get lucky! Forrest was picked up by a rescuer and brought to the vet for attention. He now has a wheel chair and can cruise all over the place! He is living the best life in his foster home and is SO ready to find a home to call his own where he will be loved and treated how a sweet, kind and happy pup like him should be treated!

Story
Updated 4.3.25   Daisy and Lilly are bonded sisters from the same litter. Daisy is the type A initiator, and Lilly is up for anything Daisy recommends. Daisy will groom Lilly and encourage her to go out and go potty. Without Daisy, Lilly would be prone to boredom and less engaged. Both girls are very comfortable with humans of all sizes and can't ever say no to cuddles. The two gals would do best with a human at home with them most of the day, however, their current foster is working 8 hour shifts and they manage well enough (Lilly does have an indoor accident here and there when home alone that long). Both are ok to be free roam in the home when alone without a human. Neither has chewed on items or gotten on the counters.    The girls' ideal home would have a big, fenced yard because both prefer to roam in a safe place vs go on walks on a leash. Their ideal home also has lots of humans (adults and kids) to give them attention often.    Their current foster thinks they are absolutely capable of learning a new routine, but if they have their way they get lots of cuddles, lots of back yard breaks, and lots of love.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2025, 8:19 pm

Story
Update 4.22.24 Meet Rosie: A Gentle Soul Ready for a Life of Pampered Relaxation! Looking for a calm and loving companion to share your quiet moments with? Then you absolutely must meet Rosie, a gorgeous 5-year-old Boxer with a heart of gold! Born in June of 2019, Rosie (officially Seerose Von Kaiserfelsen, but she prefers Rosie!) is ready to trade her past life for a future filled with comfy dog beds, gentle head scratches, and all the love she deserves. Rosie is a former breeder release, and while she was a wonderful mom, she's now ready to enjoy the single life!  She has been living with a family for the last 18 months and has been a rock star! She's spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations, so she's ready to settle right into her new home. This girl is truly an easy-going lady. Her favorite pastime is relaxing on her dog bed, and she's perfectly content to spend the day lounging. She's already house-trained and crate-trained – in fact, her crate is her safe haven! She sleeps soundly in her crate in her foster mom's bedroom each night, and sometimes she even prefers to snooze a little longer in the morning! She also knows that furniture is for humans, not canines! Rosie has been a wonderful guest in her foster home and has loved meeting new adult friends. While she hasn't been around young children in her foster home, she has lived with teenagers previously. Due to her size and strength, we think she would thrive best in a home with older children who can respect her space. Now, let's be upfront: Rosie is a girl who appreciates her personal space, especially when it comes to certain prized possessions! She can be a bit of a resource guarder with rawhides and squeaky toys. We're working on this in her foster home, but it's something her future family should be aware of. Because of this, and because she hasn't gotten along swimmingly with her foster brother, Rosie would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home. She just wants all the love and attention for herself! Rosie is also currently working on achieving her ideal figure, but with regular walks and a healthy diet, she'll be strutting her stuff in no time! If you're looking for a loving, low-key companion who will fill your home with quiet affection and the occasional gentle snore, then Rosie might just be your perfect match! Come meet this sweet girl and see if you can resist her soulful eyes and gentle nature! To Summarize Rosie's Ideal Home: Adults or families with older children (teens and up) A home where she can be the only dog Someone who understands and can manage resource guarding A calm and quiet environment Lots of love and comfy dog beds! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 10, 2025, 7:26 pm
