**Video of him can be seen on our Facebook page here.** OREO is simply a "happy go lucky" pup! He loves affection from people and other dogs. He's a young adult and was rescued by police when he was lost. OREO is very trusting of people and makes friends wherever he goes! He would be a best fit in a home with an active lifestyle willing to provide Oreo with both mental and physical stimulation. He is super eager to please whomever his handler is for the day. Online Dog Adoption Forms: : https://wacshelter.com/adopt-a-dog/ Website for general questions: www.wacshelter.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wacshelter/ Email: wacvolunteers@gmail.com ** Be sure to check out our FACEBOOK page for day to day updates on our cats and dogs. Canine adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter Age appropriate vaccinations Deworming Flea prevention (if required) Heartworm screening/monthly prevention ** Volunteer dog walkers work with our dogs 7 days a week. What your adoption fee also includes is housetraining, leash walking and a good understanding of the kind of home each dog would thrive in. ADOPTION FEE: $ 150 "People who say money can't buy you happiness, have never paid an adoption fee...." IS THIS DOG SAFE WITH CATS? There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition. If one of our dogs is reported to have lived with cats previously, that will be indicated in the dog's description! IS THIS DOG GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS? No dog loves every other dog, just as humans do not like every other human they meet. A proper introduction (meet and greet) would be required as part of our application process. IS THIS DOG GOOD WITH CHILDREN? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A dog will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with dogs and pay attention to body language. Young children should never be left unsupervised with new dogs. WHY IS THIS DOG IN THE SHELTER? The top reasons dogs are given up are: Moving without considering the needs of the pets Death of the owner with no plan in place for the pets Previous owner did not provide appropriate training Owner did not consider the lifespan of a dog Owner did not consider the cost of providing for a dog

Story
Jackson is 2-3 years old and weighs approximately 70 lbs. He is crate trained, housebroken and currently learning to walk on a leash. He came to us after being hit by a car, but after hip and shoulder surgery, he is healed up 100% and enjoys being active. He also loves a good afternoon nap. Jackson is very friendly and loves being with his people. He has been around cats but has not been introduced to any dogs yet, although he gets happy and excited when the neighbor dogs come out. Sometimes he'll even sit by the fence waiting for them to come out and &#194&#147play&#194&#148 Jackson still exhibits a few puppy behaviors so having toys to chew and play with will be good for him. He's not opposed to a slipper or loose sock here and there ? He is a really funny dog. He will do best in a home with older kids or just adults as closing all doors and gates is a must. If inadvertently given the opportunity to go on an adventure, he'll use that open door or gate and have a night on the town! He is neutered now so that may subside somewhat. We are working on not jumping and general manners but Jackson is a really happy and friendly guy who will make a fun addition to the family.**All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**December 5, 2025, 11:06 am

Story
Age 1-2 years  Breed: Pit bull mix Color: black  Weight 40 lbs.  Sex: Male Tiny Tim is 1-2 years old. He was left on a chain with an igloo-style dog house during the coldest days of the year. He was malnourished and underweight. A local animal welfare group found him in his yard and offered money to the owner if they would surrender Tiny Tim. That welfare group saved him from staying outside that night, which went into sub-zero temperatures. He was featured on the local news station and was picked up by Shelter to Home.  Tiny Tim has flourished in his foster home; he gets along with other dogs and adult humans, but we are unsure how he would be with children or cats. Tiny Tim is crate trained, which works best when he is home alone, so that he doesn't chew on anything that could be harmful to him. He exhibits puppy behavior, so he likes to chew on toys and bones, but will occasionally chew on shoes if not redirected. He is potty trained and is neutered and up to date on his shots. He would do best in a home that is familiar and patient with puppy behavior. His foster mom still goes outside to supervise him because one time he tried to climb the fence when he saw a cat in the neighbor's yard.  **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter.
